As an irish teenager, I first seen martinez when he broke irush hearts beating bernard dunne. What a career he's had since then, great guy, heart of a lion and has done it the hard way. Deserves everything he achieved.

I've never really rated Galahad. This was supposed to be a soft defence of the title against someone at the end of their career.

@@Aerojet01 I disagree. He is still an elite fighter. What suprised me was before the 1st knockdown he kept getting caught with that overhand right only because he was backing up in the southpaw stance with his guard hand too low but he never adjusted.
Offensively, southpaw seems to work for him but he should switch back to orthodox when leaving range. The only reason Fury gets away with it is due to his insane reach advantage.
Worst of all though was when he came out for the next round he was STILL in the southpaw stance when he got KO'd. His corner really should have picked up on that detail.
The body punches too set it up, and Barker noticed that he’s def knows the sweet science well

It's because the ref didn't count till 10.. he stopped half way!! so it was stopped by the ref! That's how it goes.. only if the ref counts till 10 it becomes a knock out.

The confidence wasn't brittle it was very real. Kid's chin was brittle. It was only the 4th round. Weight-making was the issue here, kid must be dead at the weight. Wonder if they'll take the rematch or move on up.

I was at the Frampton v Martinez fight in Belfast, even though he lost he was a constant danger and it was a nerve wracking fight to watch. Well done Martinez getting a world title again!

Cuando una persona persigue el triunfo a base de trabajo, esfuerzo y humildad, cuando llegas a la meta lo compartes con quien sea. Grandisimo Kiko, a seguir así, perseverando y haciendo combates como este, paso a paso, con la mente siempre fria,
@@ima831 Cierto. El árbitro le manda a una esquina con gente de "security". ¿Dónde estaba su equipo, cojones? El Kiko se abrazaba hasta con las farolas.

En cuanto Galahad cae noqueado saltan los paramédicos al ring por lo que debes limitar la presencia innecesaria de gente en el ring en esos momentos delicados. Por ese motivo el árbitro trata de comunicarle a Kiko que se ubique en la esquina opuesta, supongo que por la barrera idiomática se produce esa situación de abrazos mutuos y el árbitro logra finalmente que Kiko esté más tranquilo. La esquina de Galahad también estuvo a pie de ring sin acceder a él.
@@ima831 eso es porque en Gran Bretaña se ciñen a las normas de la BBBC y tienen unos protocolos algo diferentes al de otros organismos/comisiones de boxeo. Son más estrictos, fíjate las entradas, salidas del ring, entrevistas, todo mucho más organizado y con constante presencia de seguridad. Cuando sucede un KO tienen un protocolo más restrictivo, por eso no dejan que suba todo el equipo, como mucho dejan sólo un representante del boxeador derribado pero dan prioridad a los paramédicos para que no se obstaculice su trabajo. Tampoco dejaron subir al equipo de Galahad (sólo a un miembro para asistir), Ingle y sus asistentes estuvieron a pie de ring igual que el equipo de Kiko. Ya en la pelea anterior de chicas sucedió algo similar cuando el árbitro paró la pelea.
A su esquina la retienen hasta que el rival este recuperado.

I think I say Kiko Martinez get robbed on a fight. It's nice to see him get a victory that was not dependent on the judges.
This showed that in any boxing division one punch can change everything, not just the heavyweights. Plus it’s a risk to cherry pick an opponent who is experienced and battle hardened.

Le pilló el fallo, no subía la izquierda. Hasta entonces estaba haciendo un gran combate el británico. Enhorabuena por Kiko, es uno de mis boxeadores favoritos a nivel mundial, me encanta su estilo fajador.
Spanish boxers are really producing shocks in the boxing world. The hype around kid Galahad was too much. UK media has a way of hyping up their fighters and soccer players into superstars when they are no where close to that.
Kiko seems to of been around for ever. When this fight was announced, I thought easy defence, for a big name on the record, how wrong was I. Kiko showed that he is still a great fighter, he adjusted to galahad, galahad didn't, you can't buy experience. Well done kiko, 👏, unbelievable performance
