Create review, straight and to the point. thanks fella.
Hi there. Here’s a bit of fun you can try if you happen to have more than one integrated amplifier to hand. I call it bi-amping the naughty way. Simply connect one channel of your cd player (or whatever) to one amplifier and connect the other channel to the other amplifier, and of course just the one speaker to each amp. You now have complete independent control for each channel (better than many ‘proper’ bi-amp set ups where the tone controls affect both channels and the balance control affects both channels). I have fun with this and I don’t necessarily use matching speakers; I might pair a kef with one amp and a wharfedale with the other. Naturally, you turn the balance over to the channel you are using for each amp. It’s fun, and I think it works in squeezing out just a little more quality from the over all sound. Anyone who tends to hoard their hi-fi can have fun with this one and I hope you might give it a try and see what you think. Oh, and of course you try this at your own risk but I have not encountered any problems so far and this is how I have my system permanently now. Oh, and probably best if both amplifiers are reasonably close quality wise.
Recently picked up a Yamaha CD-S300 second-hand with no remote so can't even switch files using the USB port with a pendrive🥲. Think the best way of using the USB port is with an iPhone (doesn't seem to work with Android) or presumably iPod/iPad. I've only got an iPhone 7 but it allows you to control the files and even plays FLAC files.
Good
Great video !
The cds 303 which replaced the cds 300 has a vestly different
Circuit design but identical externally
Hi, which one has the better sound quality?
Awesome video...does the 300 or the 303 support gapless playback like the CA 25/35?
Neither supports gapless playback.
The 303 supports gapless with the latest firmware.
@@mig7528 Thanks! How do I check and update firmware?
@@alienbats switch to USB mode, connect flash drive, switch back to cd mode, press and hold A/B on remote, version will appear on panel for about 5 seconds.
Is it a better DAC than my Audioquest Dragonfly Black? ☺️
yamaha A-S500 es Amazing!!!!
Got this CD-player 2 years ago brand new for €299. Just yesterday the digital output stopped working, of course one month after the warranty expired.
Nice job, Yamaha....😡
That sucks!
Would check for bad soldering.
There is a huge difference between MP3 and FLAC
of course there is, flac is 3 times as big and sounds way better, sry but he is just to old to hear the difference. When u get older ure ears dont hear as much as a young guy. His Speakers are also not the best, but when he's happy with it all that matters, cheers !
What’s the soundstage like?
Entre el maranntz yamaha y nad cual prefieres ?y cuando haces el video de las compraciones
I really couldn't choose between them, both sounded identical. What shopping video?
@@UTILITARIANTVUK osea si pudieras hacer un vídeo con los tres cd players y las recomendaciones gracias
Have the s300 good cd but you can not turn it on or off from the remote 👎it will be leaving soon
Hi! I have this Turntable AT LP 120XUSB as well as Powered Speakers Edifier S1000 MK II and now I just need to listen to my CDs, I am thinking of purchasing the Yamaha CD Player S303 and I don't wanna spend more money in other devices, so is it worth using my active speakers with this CD Player and its DAC?
What speakers do you have?
@@UTILITARIANTVUK hi, thank you for answering. As it says before. Edifier S1000 MKII.
@JuanDavidMena-oo5li Sorry missed that. Yes you can either connect through RCA, optical or coaxial. If you choose RCA you'll be using the DAC in the CD player, if you choose optical/coaxial, you'll be using the DAC in the speaker. It might be worth buying an older used CD player and connecting via the optical/coax.
