Sometimes the best solution gives the ideal shape/mechanics for a given job. Look at Formula 1 cars, or Buran, the Russian version of the American space shuttle as two examples.
There we go...a whole army of them weaponized robots coming our way, probably preceded by a cloud of robot mosquitoes armed with syringes for snouts! They're not building these things so we can have a loving pet robot around the house...
There not all building these things to harm us either. Fear gets us nowhere fast. I look forward to becoming an engineer someday. Perhaps even make a Robot someday. So much fear over human innovation.
A variant of these will be in space on the ISS or long distance space ships doing mundane tasks. Can't wait to see one on a space walk to do maintenance outside a space station.
They should market them with task abilities sorted out that are most practical, such as for doing chores outdoors, from mowing the lawn, to running down to the pizza place or the doritos cool ranch chip retailers, or the drug store and running back home really really fast with your forms of sustainance/'medical supplies'. They could show it keeping people from hanging out in front of the drug store on their summer vacations by doing running jump kicks at them, like that bunny in the monty python movie protecting the cave entrance.
Yes indeed. An hour of brainstorming by the team, and any interested friends, could probably create a very good list of suggested applications. They've created fabulously versatile machines. They probably do have quite a few specific uses that the stakeholders want, but as you say, it would be fairly easy to hugely increase the appeal and sales by methodically listing dozens of uses, in categories and subcategories. Like most new, arriving technologies, it contains billions of dollars of yet unrealized benefits, just like fire and the wheel did.
These things will sell like crazy if they get a design and an ID like in the movies and video games. Self defence and theft protection of these robots will be important. A return to base function is also important if it gets lost some how. That one will definitely motivate med getting a better health, and I am sure this one can motivate me to jog in the nature again.
We should be hopeful and remember the same humanity who is being blamed for all bad things will rectify it's chaos. Look at our human history that this human has slaughtered fellow human without any technology. So I hope we will learn from our mistakes and soon rediscover our standard status of nature homeostasis. I believe humanity is in better hands of future generation. To be honest nature works like this, someone has to play a role of critics and someone has to commit mistakes and then discover miracles of technology. Regards
4:04 Nova AkA GladoHorse. "Oh, it's you. Hanging around the lab had gotten boring so I decided I needed a mobile frame. Not because I missed your fat as of course. Ha. Ha. The thought alone."
One immediate application is in shootings, the robot can go inside places where a shooter is active and allow see what is the real situation, potentially saving lives.
Oh for God's sake. Why would robots cause an extinction event and not one of the myriad other risks we face? If you want to survive then it takes innovation to have the necessary power.
what is a robots weakness, can we have a sure fire way to individually shut em down if they doing something dangerous in construction or anywhere else?
The military will look at that 'war elephant' and use it for carrying stuff. In fact the 'moving and carrying stuff' mission is where the Army's putting their robotic development money. Combat robots are likely to appear in the air and at sea decades before anybody gives any serious thought to a ground combat robot.
The one with wheels needs to be bigger with a seat and human controls. Could then challenge horses on extreme ground. Have a race and turn it into entertainment.
How about a bi pedal 2 metre tall bot, capable of up to 40 mph running strides in an all terrain cross country mode. That would be awesome, and pretty much unstoppable without some external degree of force.
they are still heelwaking ! we walk on the toe part of our feet ( people that know how to actually walk that is ) ! the spring effect that launching off the ground with the toes is a very very large part of each step ( again , people that know how to walk that is ) !
They need to do something besides walk and roll over. How about go to the fridge and get you a beer, vacuum, wash your car, tie your shoes, fold the laundry, open your front door and bring the paper in stuff like that.
Nice. A robot that builds another type of robots for our infrastructure including its own blueprints. They can self manufacture themselves. Interesting
4:00 Finally a video that wasn't a "clickbait". Impressed!
Impressed, yes.
But also that thing is nightmare fuel, so it might have been better if it were clickbait.

Robodog: “You have five seconds to comply!”
Nice Robocop reference.
no joke, that WILL happen!
Citizen pulls out hidden Taser and shorts out electrical system.!
Robot: you have .00005 seconds to comply or will shoot you head
Bam bam bam ...
You failed in time, have a nice day.
Sounds like your talking about malfunctioning cops, not future machines.

So creepy to watch our future masters being perfected.
Meet the new assassins prototype. Someone’s going to weaponize these.
If it came with a vacuum cleaner attachment for the stairs, I'm in
If I'll get hands on one, I'll do it, and he will be vacuuming also other furniture.
That's just lazy
Yes yes, vacuum cleaner attachment... for the stairs... of course
Or pistols
It is interesting how the competition to the spot mini looks and acts like the spot mini....
