    Hello there, just wanted to share something with all of you... I made 38 of these for all my scrapbooking friends for our Spring Retreat earlier this month. Everybody loved them and they came up with another way to use them... They put them on a wine bottle! It looks so cute!

    Hi Lola Estrada, You do 2 rows with the blue yarn, one row of the white yarn, and then the last row in blue, for the skirt. I don't have a written pattern. If you followed the instructions, and it still doesn't look right to you, you can send me a picture on Facebook. I will try and see where the problem is. Thank you. I hope that you had a Happy Mother's Day as well!! :)

    Thank u HM! I Ilove these dress patterns for the kitchen! I actually been making a similar one I found online! Definitely gonna try yours now! BTW is there a reason why u keep saying "double chain" instead of "double crochet?" I just wondered bc it may be confusing to newbies to our awesome craft!! And BTW LOVE ur videos! It's like having a teacher right next to u! Great work!

      MzHolliWudKitti Thank you! I am so happy that you like my videos. This is one of my earlier videos, so I had a few bad habits that I worked out in my newer videos. Thank you for telling me. I will go back into the video to put a caption in for newbies. You may also like how I put this pattern as a towel topper and refrigerator magnet. Thanks again! I love, love, love, our awesome craft! Happy Crocheting!

    This is absolutely adorable!!! Can not wait to make this. Is the yarn 100% cotton or does it matter?

    • @helenmaycrochet8411
      @helenmaycrochet8411  9 років тому

      Some people prefer using the 100% cotton, because they say that the 100% acrylic can melt, if you place too hot of an item on it.

    • @MzHolliWudKitti
      @MzHolliWudKitti 9 років тому +1

      FYI my mom and Gma have used acrylic exclusively for kitchen items for OVER 5-6 decades and in all my 47 years I've never seen one of them melt a potholder or trivet/hotpad. I have however seen many a cotton poholder scorched by heat. And we all know cotton falls apart once it's damaged. So yes accidents can happen no matter which fiber u choose. ;)

    • @helenmaycrochet8411
      @helenmaycrochet8411  9 років тому +1

      MzHolliWudKitti Thank you! I have used acrylics too, because the colors are much more fun to work with. However, they are starting to get more fun colors with 100% cotton. So, I make these with both acrylics and cotton. 5-6 decades! I love it!!!! I hope that you will friend me on Facebook too! I have lots of crochet friends, and we share crochet ideas.

    Do you know how to do the vintage pot holder pants

  • @dovepeacescarlet1
    @dovepeacescarlet1 8 років тому +1

    do you use cotton for this, or acrylic?

    • @helenmaycrochet8411
      @helenmaycrochet8411  8 років тому

      +dovepeacescarlet1 . Cotton or acrylic will work great for this crochet project. It depends on what you want your crochet dress for. If you are going to use it as a hot pad, I would recommend 100% cotton. The acrylic has petroleum products in the yarn. Hope that helps :)

    Is this done with cotton yarn

    • @helenmaycrochet8411
      @helenmaycrochet8411  2 роки тому

      Hi Della! Yes, you can use cotton yarn. If you place very hot items on them it may melt the acrylic yarns, so that is why some people prefer using cotton yarns. Happy Crocheting!
