I was born in Bahrain in 1959 when my father one of the first Indians to settle there and was there till his retirement in 1979. So much seems to have changed since. All that rustic infrastructure has transformed to what you see above. Still very nostalgic !!!!!!!

Hi Kamya, hope you had enjoyed well in Bahrain. And in your trip you missed to visit the oldest oil well in Jebel Dukhan. Bahrain was the first place on the Arabian side of the Persian Gulf where oil was discovered & they've a small museum there. I've lived there for a couple of years & I loved the island in many ways.....be it hospitality, welcoming people & the warmth, the souqs and many more to say.

I lived in Bahrain in 1957 , looked nothing like it does now. I am now in my late 70s and would love to go back. Such a wonderful Kingdom. I my day a lot of people used to live in Barasti houses.
