I just came back from a week in both Oman and Dubai. I enjoyed Oman ten times over Dubai. Dubai is just Vegas on steroids. The people and sights of Oman were amazing.
The same feeling...love Oman though Dubai is amazing with it's tallest, highest and longest buildings 😊

As a Sri Lankan who worked in Muscat for 19 years from 1981 to 2000 and been to all corners of Oman, from Northern Musandam Península to Southern capital Salala along the East coast, along Northern coast right past Emirates, along Western border with Saudi Arabia in the desert where Oil rigs were in Sah'mah etc., Fahud, Marmul(nearer the East coast), would say fantastic country with fantastic people all over Oman not just Muscat. Met wonderful, friendly people wherever I went. Name a remotest known place, I was there including Island of Masirah, visiting Walis' Offices under the Ministry of Interior. The view along Roads to places like Tiwi on East Coast and the coastal road from Tibat, the border post with Emirates to Khasab, the capital of Oman's Northern peninsula are fantastic especially in winter mornings. with clear skies

I'm just shocked how beautiful this place looks! People looks sooo friendly also, infrastructure looks developed and clean, scenery and nature looks also blessed.
the beauty of oman is addictive and calming i have watched it many times but miss it once in a while
Everyone seems very nice and relaxed, like they have nothing to prove and yet are one of the safest places on earth. Really stark contrast to many other major cities in the ME, where it seems like everyone is trying to one up one another and have the biggest ego. Oman seems cool.
It is extremely safe more safe than my home in america. I lived there many years and went places alone at night even with no one bothering me.

Muscat is very nice with wonderful people and very little crime.
But take note: Salalah is the true gem of Oman. Southern Oman is far different than in the north. Leopards, ostriches and waterfalls.
Definitely dont miss out on Salalah. Was my home for many years and I miss it. Such a beautiful place laid back and peaceful and has certainly grown and modernized

I'm working in Oman. It's a nice country to live in. There are lots of places to visit in the country but unfortunately it's an underrated tourist country. It's very safe country and friendly citizens.
Maybe I want to move to Oman to work if have a good salary like a bartender, waiter. ?

Lived in Muscat in 1990's for couple of years, loved it very much. Muscat is a very beautiful city.
This was a very good video on Muscat and Oman. I moved there in 2009 and lived in Muscat and Salalah both in total around 8 years maybe. It has changed and developed a lot since then. I loved Mutrah corniche and driving the road through it and old Muscat and back around in a huge circle. Unfortunately never got to see wadi al shab but I saw the Bimah sinkhole. I loved living in Salalah though as its more laid back and naturistic beaches mountains desert and then monsoon season comes and the mountains become lush green and cool weather but the mosquitoes and bugs are awful on the mountains during that time lol

We visited Oman in 2022 and we had a marvelous time in the country of Oman. Muscat of Oman is were we visited. This a beautiful place. We even visited the museum and their Mosque. We took a boat sail out on the beautiful waters seeing the beautiful mountains. Their beaches are beautiful. The people there are very friendly and welcoming. 😊🇴🇲
