It's hard to laugh at dark Comedy but it gives you alot to takeaway, especially it teaches you to laugh at every juncture of your life even the bad experiences as your perspective defines an incident as a failure/ a funny experience!
Kya mast gyan dia re @samay! Too much learning.. And btw thanks a bunch to both of you, for letting us know these things on which our lives may seem or feel more interesting & enjoyable.
Hats off to you Samay and Vidit. I will say honestly i have not been a follower for a long time. I recently followed you both. Content you guys are providing is great. You are Chess Grand Master. The way you have achieved this title in this young age is tremendous and appreciable. You made all of us proud. I pike how Samay brought it up with PPT here. Usually, comedy brings humor to people’s life which helps them to cope up with pain, stress and adversity. For humor and comedy, violation is an most important part. Violations are anything that threatens the way you believe the world ought to be. Violations take many forms, ranging from violations of social norms to violations of moral norms. But, It must be between “malign violation” and “benign violation”. If anything is too benign then it will be norm hence not funny and if it is too malign then it will be insulting hence also not funny. There is a thin line between those, which a comedian needs to maintain throughout, which is not an easy job. Also, how thin this line is different for different people. That is why sometimes you find comedian who is too benign is not being funny at all and who is malign has police case filed against him. That is why you may see comedians don’t usually put politics, religion etc into jokes. I feel like we, as an audience should accept crossings of that thin line at times and take things in humorous way. But sometimes, things are not clearly distinguishable between benign violation or malign violation. Some people don’t like to be made fun of, would consider it malign violation and with others, it should still be fine. Also, to put humor; comedians need to put up a setups to get everyone in the same boat and familiarity, then the punch line which is a benign violation. Sometimes putting a scenario as a puzzle will make laugh whoever in their mind be able to solve it. Sometimes, creating little bit tension by being serious and relieving that with a norm, having lame excuse makes things humorous. To make it even more funnier, some comedians use “pace”. They start slowly to get people engaged and then going fast and relieving suddenly to make people laugh. Another thing comedians use is a facial expression. Mr. Bean, John oliver, Raju Srivastav and Sunil Pal are great example of it. This is not everyone’s cup of tea. For stand-up comedians, it is important to take pauses at times to allow people continue laughing from previous joke to build it up to more audiences. Keep up the good work! All the best with Chess and youtube channel. Keep entertaining and keep making us even more proud! Power to you! 👍🏻✌🏻
