A Spanish influencer, who was on a bike tour with her husband in India, was gang-raped in Dumka district of Jharkhand. The victim was attacked on the intervening night of March 1 and 2 while she was sleeping in her tent. A police complaint has been filed in the case and three have been arrested. There’s a massive outrage on social media over the incident.

I visited India about 5 years ago with my wife. Never again. We did not feel safe anywhere. You can't leave your hotel and enjoy the sights or trust anyone. Stay away, it's just not worth it.

As a Swedish business man i have traveled India more than 30 times and my wife joined me only once and never came back with me again. She felt harassment on every level from staying in a 5star hotel in India till the Calcutta. The only place she loved and adore was Kashmir (1994). She found Kashmir more safe. Indian society is not ready for what they showing in Bollywood and its a complete contrast of modern movies and a illiterate village country.
And now thanks to the current government, Kashmir is headed down the same path.

The Taliban are a bit more politically refined than they used to be. She likely contacted them, told them who she was and what she was doing, and the Taliban provided her a protection team the whole time she was there. Most of the rapes occur in North India and most of the foreigners selectively go there and forms an impression of the entire South Asia whereas in reality Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and the aforesaid parts of India are completely different from North India.
