- Either the Grappler or Billy Jack Haynes is going to the hospital tonight as a result of their brutal Stretcher Match!! Don't tell Rip Oliver!! This fantastic match from one of the greatest Portland Wrestling feuds in history was held on July 1st, 1989 at the Portland Sports Arena!!

I love the psychology in the guards taking the competitors back during the stretcher match: The heels sprint to the dressing room, risking the guy falling off the stretcher while the babyfaces are smart enough to walk them back and make sure the guy stays on the stretcher, forcing the guy to fight off the stretcher to prevent from losing.

When Billy put that full nelson on and locked it in, that was legit shooting right there. He was definitely rendered unconscious, I wish the camera showed when Billy threw his limp body to the ground. That was not a work, that was an actual full nelson used the way it is intended, amazing!💥

So i think if all put together we know that the footage from about mid 77 to 91 exists except and I noticed this because from about fall of 78 to around late spring almost early 79 there isnt much footage ironically Rose who was taping most of this then was in Frisco or other territories for that stretch so we dont have anything but that documentary of the feud in 78 of the iron sheik and dutch nor do we have Piper and Brooks first five to six months their as they won the titles new years eve 78 going into 79... Rose and Wiskowski must have not come back til at least late april or so 79.... Am i nuts or is that true or somewhat close to the reason
Pleiadian Express Productions I think you've got it nailed. There is other footage out there, but it's on old reels and the owners won't let me transfer it to digital. It will eventually disintegrate into non-existence.
