Lana’s genre of music is called Hollywood Sadcore, she’s has been known for her frequent theme of 1950-60’s Americana. She has been influenced by many artists including: Amy whinehouse, Bobby vinton, Nirvana, frank sinatra and much more. She was born in Lake Placid, New York. You definitely got it with the old school thing, in fact she is fascinated by the 60s and 70s, and with the past in general. She also has this dreamy vibe and she used to define her music as "Hollywood sadcore". Her first major label album, "Born to die" is hip hop influenced, while her second album, "Ultraviolence" has a more rock vibe to it. Then "Honeymoon" is more dreamy, "Lust for Life" is more pop and her latest album "Norman Fucking Rockwell" reminisces of the 70s while still playing with alternative sounds.
I think you should check out either "Born to die" or "Video games", or even "Blue Jeans", which are her first hits. These are all from the album "Born to die", while "Shades of cool" is from Ultraviolence.

The music video is about a two lovers but she died when she was younger and that’s why the old men always seeing her young... he looks sad remembering her, they also show some clips when they were young.

Genius.com has noted that in this song, “[Lana] expresses a strong sense of lament and pain, as well as powerful desire to understand and fix [her lover’s] flaws.” This song is about her love interest and his “cool” or “blue” lifestyle, he’s shaded and cold, and Lana struggles to fix him. In the video, you can see the “shades of cool” that he lives in. They used a lot of blue lighting to reflect his mood, and you can see, during the bridge and guitar solo, Lana dances with him in a bright room, in a bright, red dress - she’s trying to bring color and light to him and their relationship, but then the song cools down again and he’s sitting in that blue light, and driving down the dark road, and I believe that represents his unfixable nature.

“I’m getting sort of a sad vibe” lmaoooo me listening to Lana Del Rey the first time.
Her sound has been described as Hollywood Sad-core. Her most poppy sound is from her album Born to Die (2012). Lots of hip hop beats on that album that you might enjoy. I recommend "Blue Jeans" video or the title track "Born to Die". I think, based on what you've said, you would like those. All of her albums have heavy Americana visuals and references, which is sort of her trademark. Correct in that she is inspired by singers of the 50s, 60s and 70s.

Actually, this music video is a continuation. It all started in Born To Die (single) when she dies, then West Coast is when the bad boy (older now) got memories of her and nostalgia, that’s why she kept young on both timelines and finally in Shades of Cool she haunts him, we can see that when she’s swimming and he makes the cross sign and he sees her swimming through the glass.

The people before me pretty much covered it but I think if you want to delve into Lana you should start at the beginning, (Born to Die) and work your way up. Just because she changes so much while also staying herself. She grows and improves and will just stun you. Personally my favorite Albums are Ultraviolence and Norman Fucking Rockwell.
Almost all her albums are a different sound, as well as produced by a couple different people, but all sound uniquely her! Can’t wait to see you fall in love with her.
