Beneficial bacteria (nitrifying and denitrifying) grown in the aquarium (water, substrate, etc.) will break down ammonia and nitrite and convert them into nitrate. The plants will then use the nitrate as a nutrient (nitrogen) and grow, while at the same time making the aquarium water cleaner and safer for the fish. Thanks.

They're both great algae eaters; however, I preferred horned nerit snails for this tank because their smaller size is aesthetically pleasing in relation to the tank's dimensions.

Thanks bro for noticing. I have 2 ft planted aquarium on tv stand. I was planning to build diy stand. Couldn't found any proper diy video. Your diy videos are spot on. Already done diy co2, macro and micro nutrients and in process to build bamboo beta tank 😉😉. Planning to build diy stand with sump accommodation since having ideas for marine aquarium if that happens.😋😋
Not all aquatic plants, but there are many plants that don’t rely heavily on their roots for nutrient uptake and are capable of absorbing nutrients directly from the aquarium water column, can be grown in sand. e.g. Hygrophila polysperma, Anacharis, Hornwort, Cabomba etc.
Hey I have used black substrate and hidden it using white sand however due to some mistake white layer has slightly washed out and black substrate is coming up, any idea how can I reset my tank and set it up from scratch and keep both soil separate
I have already shown 1 month of plant growth in the video, and if it were to melt, it would melt within this time frame. So the plants will not melt if the conditions are right. The plants are growing very well and are in good health. I will post an update after 2 months of this tank to substantiate my statement and clear your doubts. Stay connected with my channel 🙂
If you don't cover the aquarium.. won't the snails escape? Because in my aquarium, when I forget to cover the aquarium.. my snails escape from the aquarium.
It is true that these snails have a tendency to leave the water and escape from the tank. However, I have seen them occasionally come close to the surface to consume calcium deposits and algae, but they have not escaped the tank as of yet. They appear to be quite happy within the tank, feeding on algae consistently. In the event that I notice any escape attempts in the future, I will cover the top with a ventilated plexiglass.
@@GCProjects It happened to me, that snails escaped from tanks. I typically found them and put them back or moved them to another tanks (have 3 tanks). Interestingly, they stopped escaping by now and stay where they are.
A tank of this size is not suitable as zebra danios are very active fish and need plenty of room to move around. They are best kept in schools of at least 6 or more, and require at least a 10-gallon (38-liter) tank.
Tis the best low-tech betta tank I've seen so far.

Awesome video as always sir. I would like to know how ammonia buildup will be handled without a filtration system?
Beneficial bacteria (nitrifying and denitrifying) grown in the aquarium (water, substrate, etc.) will break down ammonia and nitrite and convert them into nitrate. The plants will then use the nitrate as a nutrient (nitrogen) and grow, while at the same time making the aquarium water cleaner and safer for the fish. Thanks.
Daily water changes, as shown in the video, will also remove ammonia and other organic wastes from the aquarium water.
