Be cool to see this bow turn into the “most purchased” setup like most purchased arrows, broadheads, accessories and see what the mass public purchasing consensus ends up like and how it does
One thing I really appreciated about Chris is taking time to share gear that is more affordable for a majority of folks. Not many channels do that, most of them are pushing the most expensive gear out there. Which is fine, but it is great to see someone as talented as Chris helping others along that might not be able to afford the top end gear. It was great to see Chris shoot an entry level bow way better than most can shoot a flagship - it is all about the shooter for the most part! Thank you!
Definitely would be cool to see a full budget build. Budget bow, sight, release, rest, arrows, broadheads. Discuss where money can be saved or where maybe spending a "little" more makes a big difference.
There are already ultra low cost accessories of every kind, that no higher cost accessories can beat. You just end up paying more for no reason. I guess pretty boys like pretty stuff.
Okay, is anyone else super relieved to see a pro forget which way he was supposed to move it? I can’t even count the number of times I’ve adjusted the wrong direction. Thanks for that Chris! 😂
Have that sight on my old bow. Light is very bright and perfect for early and late hours. To make sure I had all 5 pins fitting well, I actually started with 60 pin on the way bottom and adjusted my major. Then did my 20, 30, etc. Just to know I had all 5 pins utilized.
Great video Chris. I would like to see you use that sight for hunting because it will give confidence to those archers/hunters who can't afford to spend big bucks on a high-end sight.
Quick tip: I set the last pin as far down as possible and use the gang(macro) adjustment to get it right on. That way you don’t get all the other pins perfect and run out of room for that last pin
If it’s an entry level RTH bow probably going to come with truglow sites. Which is what I’m running. Been bow hunting twice in 2yrs. It’s all very new to me. Haven’t even shot at a deer yet lol. I’m 49 in a few days and getting back to my country boy youth roots that I missed out on due to moving to the city at 12. You’re videos help out a lot, so thank you.
Yes, run that sight please! Get a Bee Stinger Hunter 8 inch front bar or even a Trophy Ridge (since you’re doing budget). Throw some limb savers in there for sound as well. Would love to even see you use a budget arrow such as the Easton 6.5’s or Gold Tip Hunter. Maybe even a budget release. A Scott Pursuit thumb button is what I run. Keep it all budget for us that can’t afford the heavy hitters yet! Don’t skimp on the board heads though, as a hunter you can’t afford to be cheap with broad heads.
Sportsmans where I live has "house" arrows called vital impacts for 40 bucks for 6. They seem to do ok but I'm new and am currently at 55lbs with a 400 spine arrow
My favorite Deer Stand site. I even added a smaller pin at 60 and 70!! Great value and that glowing focal ring on the housing is fantastic in low light in timber”Magic Time”.
I'd like to see if you could quiet the bow down some and how you would do that and could you get a little more poundage out of it if you change the string if that's something that's possible
Tru Glo 5 pin is like the best basic sight out there. Ran one for like 10 years and only upgraded 2 years ago to CBE 3 pin with the sight tape for longer range adjustment. And it is better but not massively.
I have this same TruGlo sight for 4 months, I like it alot. The light operates with a twist, but it doesn't match the small engravings for on/off. Mine is weak, but maybe it's just the free-bee batteries we get that are the problem. Btw, thanks for your archery videos!
U should get a cheap drop away rest to put on this bow. Maybe even do like a comparison before and after of ur groups with the whisker biscuit vs the drop away. Not sure if you’d really get good results but something like that
I replaced my BlackGold Single Pin with the TRUGLO Hyper-Strike Camo 5-Pin Bow-Sight and frankly it rocks so far. Little different adjustments from the TRUGLO you are testing here, but inexpensive sometimes can be a great product. We'll see how she holds up.
I have the previous version it has ddp pins. First 3 are .019 n other 2 are .010. Need to put this sight on your Mathews Light you would then have a light weight fast n quiet shooting bow.
Should continue with the budget theme. Add budget stabilisers to it and a budget Quiver... And you should definitely hunt with every budget item you add to it
use the sight won’t be disappointed. i use this sight for hunting love the rubber coating helps a lot with micro adjusting. only down side is how the vertical adjustment practically has to be at the bottom of the pin ring.
Looks exactly like the Trophy Ridge Cypher 5, also a budget sight i started with, they're good to get you started with the basics, but if you want to 'up your bow game', Axcel, Spothogg, Tetra etc is the better choice. I'm running the Landslyde with UV3XL, 1 pin for hunting, and the target kit for 3d. I think that such mid range sights are most bought by people who start in archery or even stepping up a bit, hence 'the most sold sight'
Budget stabilizer systems on this bow would be cool I know I never used side stabilizers until this year because I was afraid of brush and inconvenience on drives etc. hunting in northern New England I don’t have the luxury of field hunting we are hunting through shrub oak and rose bushes but I will say stabilizing my bow was a far worse sacrifice then mobility I have never been more consistent and confident so I think a lot of people would benefit from a total budget lesson on pros of cons of all budget accessories myself included great content Chris I have learned a lot from you man
I’d like to see you try a rear gun type sight like the peep eliminator. Since I just started archery a year ago and didn’t really have any previous experience, but had more experience with guns… the rear gun type sight seemed interesting to me. It works pretty well for me, but I’d be interested to see what somebody who’s always used a peep thinks.
@@crossbowhunter9118 No, compound. It basically just creates your hold position. You set it so it falls on one of the pins or some point of the sight, at your natural hold point. So just like when you line up a rear sight with the front sight on a gun... that establishes you're on your hold point, then you aim the appropriate pin just like he's doing here.
@@crossbowhunter9118 Yes... You can choose the lowest pin in the sight as the hold point for the fixed sight. That gives you the repeatable hold point, then aim on whichever pin like normal. There's another one too called Hind Sight... Where it's a circle, and you establish your hold point by centering that circle over the circle of your front sight.
I shot a 4 pin sight a true glow one for 12 years. I felt with it it was ok sight. Nothing wrong with the sight. But it is way to busy for me my sight picture was very busy. So 3 years ago I switched to a hha tetra .019 pin size and I loved the sight so much much cleaner less busy sight. I got the .019 since I will never shoot 70-100 yards so I am ok more far out you get the more the pin covers. My sight does not dove tail mount into the bow which I am ok with. Chris you are one of my top 5 favorite UA-camrs and I love your videos. I just wanted to rifle hunt until I watched channels like yours who inspired me to bow hunt. Keep up the awesome videos👍
At least he didn’t cut the video short but being honest about having to keep fiddling with it. People nowadays are so used to “ instant “ gratification which is why expensive sights have been marketed so easily. Tool less adjustable everything.
Black Eagle outlaw or Easton 6.5 arrows factory Fletched. And a cheaper stabilizer. Trophy ridge has a decent budget stab with a quick disconnect that’d be perfect on this little bow. But I agree with the majority. It’d be cool to see a complete Budget build and see how you can do with it. Even go with a cheaper index finger release like a tru fire smoke or maybe a cheaper cobra release.
So I just got this sight and have been trying to sight it in. It’s the same pin for 10-30 yards and they’re landing pretty much in the same spot. Is that normal or is there something weird. I’m new to bow hunting and just trying to learn. My old sight was a 3 pin but it was about the same way. I haven’t gotten out past 30 yet but my top pin works for 30 and below. Diamond infinite 305 is the bow I’m shooting at 65lbs
Will you please do an in dept video on how to properly tune your bow. From the paper to the target. And explain everything in dept on how to get that bullet hole and which ways ti move the rest or the sight to be the most accurate before touching a target. Everyone I have just says you need a bullet hole and you’re fletching to line up but no one breaks down how to get it. Thanks bud! Enjoying your content. Best in my book!
Definately leave the cheap sight on it. Most folks who cant afford an expensive bow arent slapping 500 dollar sight setups on thier bows. While I shoot a newer mathews I enjoy watching this content. Humbles me knowing an expensive setup does not make you a better archer, and when there are issues knowing its more than likely the shooter. I’ve been enjoying your informative vid series on the new Lift’s feature, which ultimately convinced me to choose it as my first compound bow. Really looking forward to see how the shot sense works. You mentioned you thought Tru Glo made some other accessories like stabilizers. They actually make a drop away test called the Carbon Hybrid that is surprisingly a decent drop away for $40. Be cool to see you run one of those on that setup.
Budget friendly is important, but consider overall weight; I usually buy lightweight bows (sub 4 lb) then work on accessories that keep it as light as possible. If this is going to be exclusively for hunting, also keep in mind that you will be carrying the bow sometimes all day, and maneuvering thru brush, trees and sometimes crawling. I do like the whisker biscuit for, weight, simplicity and field function; I know you loose a little accuracy and small amount of speed, but you can’t beat it for quiet function and holding an arrow while moving. So, please let us know overall weight once complete! Thanks man…
I have a Mathews vxr. After paper tuning and adjusting my sight, I can’t see the whole sight ring anymore. Probably just see 2/3 of the ring. Is it normal?
I would like to see you run a trophy ridge stabilizer on this. I’m running an 8 and 10 inch trophy ridge set up on my mission switch with their back bar attachment. I’d love to see and hear your input on that set up being budget friendly but still getting the front and back bar on it!
Who else saw Chris move that sight in the wrong direction… then secretly hoped he launched the next arrow into orbit. 😂 we’re all human- thanks for not editing that out… made my self esteem go up just a touch.
Honestly! If it was me and I wanted to get into the compound bow side of things . I’d just spend the money on a phase 4 and Mathews gear. Because it’s a lot more tinkering then your normal recurve or long bow . Cool video though it’s nice to see what’s out there for gear and affordable too that’s a plus.
Hey chris love the videos iv learned a lot from watching how u shoot to how u explain different parts of bows and sights...just wondering im a big trophy ridge guy have u ever tryed the tropgy ridge arrow rests or their react sights they have and how u would go about setting them up for a hunting.
I think you need to set up this budget bow with budget equipment, to show hunters you don't need to have the top of the line archery equipment to be proficient in harvesting a deer. While I shoot a more midrange bow and equipment. Like most of your videos on hunting and bow videos, keep it up. We are watching.
When you get this bow set up finished, you should take it to tac and shoot for the truck (Kentucky windage style). It would be epic if you put one on the money just guessing the hold over.
I'm just about to get into archery, Ive decided I want a 33-34" bow and I am just about to pull the pin. I really cant choose between the VTM34 and the phase 4. Its killing me, I know whichever one I get I will wish I had the other for some reason or other. I have a family and don't have a lot of disposable income. Somebody tell me what bow to get so I can blame you rather than myself :)
LOTS of high praise for the Bowtech SS34. Maybe shoot that one too?.. can't go wrong with any of them!.. the Bowtech tuning system is by far the best though.. good luck.
Man I just picked up a bow. I haven't shot since fletching was actual feathers and a lot longer. But it's like riding a bike. Never used a whisker biscuit before or sights when I used to shoot. But here I am hooking up sights now.
Go with accessories that you can get at box stores for the remaining accessories. The quiver, stabs, arrows, and broadheads. This what I would like to see.
I think it would be cool if you ran one of those stabilizer mounted cameras. I don’t see many pro UA-camrs doing that but it’s definitely a way the normal person can do video of their hunt without a ton of expensive equipment. Would love to see how it turns out.
Maybe a Hamskea Primer Rest and budget friendly stabilizer kit. I know CBE has a cheap kit for 220$ Canadian Front and back bars with the v-bar bracket included. Cheapest combo kit out there
Having (usually expensive) individually micro pins makes setup so much easier I have a 40 $ micro adjust Chinese five pin (pins are individually micro, but the windage and distance are both worm drive ), have always loved the simplicity and idiot proof ness of pins, if I'm shooting well I can keep up with the scope shooters in unmarked

When you get this bow set up finished, you should take it to tac and shoot for the truck (Kentucky windage style). It would be epic if you put one on the money just guessing the hold over.
Lancaster is the absolute best bow shop around awesome video Chris
How about a video how compound bows can be used for home defense ?
Probably not budget, but I'd be curious to see your take on the schaffer xv rest
Maybe shoot that one too?.. can't go wrong with any of them!.. the Bowtech tuning system is by far the best though.. good luck.
I would love to see you do a review on the EZ V sight! Im skeptical but interested.
I’d be interested in seeing what they have as an affordable hunting stabilizer for that bow
Man I just picked up a bow. I haven't shot since fletching was actual feathers and a lot longer. But it's like riding a bike. Never used a whisker biscuit before or sights when I used to shoot. But here I am hooking up sights now.
TruGlo also makes one of the most used bow stands and you also see it used by the pros.
My daughter is 14 at 30 pound pull what Broadhead would you suggest- I think the arrow like 250. Thanks
Check your hunting laws. Massachusetts is min. 40lb draw weight. I use 500 arrow
Go with accessories that you can get at box stores for the remaining accessories. The quiver, stabs, arrows, and broadheads. This what I would like to see.
RL TRIO BACK BAR & STABILIZER KIT I think that would be a pretty cool add on to the cheep bow
Thanks for doing this budget perspective.
Did you try a drop away rest on that bow? That could maybe be a good upgrade
Would love it if you did a video compairing the noise level of the most popular slider sights
What sight does Chris Bee use ?
Awesome showing a budget bow with budget accessories and hunting with it... it's not all about the high end stuff and still getting it done..
I think it would be cool if you ran one of those stabilizer mounted cameras. I don’t see many pro UA-camrs doing that but it’s definitely a way the normal person can do video of their hunt without a ton of expensive equipment. Would love to see how it turns out.
Lol I thought I’m got creasy when you moved sight down)))) but then - oh thanks God!! I’m ok))) nice content Chris, keep on!
You should try a cheap drop away rest for the bow
Maybe a Hamskea Primer Rest and budget friendly stabilizer kit.
I know CBE has a cheap kit for 220$ Canadian
Front and back bars with the v-bar bracket included.
Cheapest combo kit out there
does this sight have enough room for a 35 pound compound to shoot 40 yards?
How about a different whisker biscuit? Like the trophy ridge v.
Always used budget sights for years, but with ageing eyes went with an I.Q. Bowsite this year.
Having (usually expensive) individually micro pins makes setup so much easier
I have a 40 $ micro adjust Chinese five pin (pins are individually micro, but the windage and distance are both worm drive ), have always loved the simplicity and idiot proof ness of pins, if I'm shooting well I can keep up with the scope shooters in unmarked
i appreciate a budget friendly sight but ga after moving them pins I appreciate micro adjust nobs WAY more 😂
i'd like to see a review on the Apex Covert Pro Black Power Dot RH/LH Dovetail.
That vice is one of my favorite tools I have. great content as always
