    Have just taken an interest in looking after my skin at age 49 after a long life of skin neglect, too much sun (the bad bad sun of New Zealand), alcohol and no skin care of any type whatsoever. Amazing what turnaround can happen within just a year and a half, and your channel has been invaluable in guiding me. Am looking forward to getting my hands on some of your products, and am so grateful for the information you have provided.....

      Just a 1 month update for everyone. I love this serum! It hasn't dried or irritated my skin like the G&G retinal did. It's a lovely texture and formula and quite hydrating which I think offsets the dryness. Yes it's a bit more expensive than the G&G one but worth it if you want a more well rounded formula. Highly recommend!

    I have been using the Geek and Gorgeous one for about a year (thanks to a video of yours). I'm 30 with combination skin, I started with the low dosage and then switched to the 0.1 %, never experiencing any irritation or side effect. I always wear sunscreen so I don't mind using it both in winter and summer nights. I really recommend it. In Italy the price is 13 euros for the 0.05% and 18 euros for the 0.1%.

    Thank you for the video! I’m on my first tube of Medik8 crystal retinol 6 and I’m loving it. My skin is not sensitive but I got LOTS of acne and combination skin so I’m going to gradually climb to 20 and stay there.
    My strategy for now of my main actives is Medik8 crystal retinal + Medik8 eye cream of the same strength + Medik8 peptides at night ; + that scary The ordinary AHA BHA bloody peel 1-2 times a week that gradually removes all my scars and textured skin and doesn’t even burn for me (no more that 10 minutes, of course).
    These products seem to be something that I can stick with “forever”, and so far they are slowly working.

    • @darinakulish1128
      @darinakulish1128 Рік тому

      And yes Medik8 is very pricey, I only go for it because it’s literally the main active for my problems, they have strength 20 (which I believe is what I will stick to in a year) and their tube goes long way.

      I can’t find any dermatologist or chemist talking about naturium retinaldehyde. I have used 2 bottles so far and I do like the gel like serum, but I’m Not sure how stable the formula is and if in the end I’m wasting my time and money with naturium retinaldehyde because Retinal is incredibly difficult to stabilize ☹️. I think I’m going to move up to the more expensive medik8 because it is backed by a lot of science and proven stabilization. I as well have sensitive skin with mild rosacea and my skin will just Not tolerate Tretinoin. So I down graded to Retinal.

    Such perfect timing! I have been using the Avene Retrinal for quite a while now, but in recent months my skin has gone from combo/dry to combo/super oily, and I’m breaking out on my forehead. The Avene product is feels pretty creamy and rich, so I’ve been wondering if it’s just too heavy for me now. I would definitely go for the MAS retinal oil, but I can’t stand the idea of putting an oil on my face right now! I’m sure my skin will get dry again at some point, and I will be thrilled to try the MAS oil then! This was a really helpful comparison of some good options. Love ya d congrats on the new product! 🍾

I'm getting ready to actually start doing tretinoin through Dermatica next week their starting me out super low but that's probably better (especially for me cus I'm fair skin red hair) at like 0.015 % or something like that then to 0.025% then to 0.5 % but anyways can I still use my other ret. products while doing the tret. on other nights/weeks when I don't use it ?? also I suffer from redness does it ever go away ?? lol so i can only do like 2 nights on a ret. then i go to 2 nights of like bha/vitamin c etc. skin cycle i guess it's called

    Thank you so much for this very informative video. I have used Shani Darden, Sunday Riley A+, Skinmedica highest strength retinol for years. I have recently switched to retinal. I first tried Avene’ and Murad retinal and am now using the Medik8 10. It is expensive but I liked the encapsulation and moisturizing ingredients. I am in my sixties and my skin is not dry but I feel moisture is so important. I am wondering about the medik8 20. If I should upgrade since I need the most effective for my more mature skin. I would appreciate your thoughts. Also I had been trying to decide what retinal to gift my daughter who has never used any before. You helped me to decide on the medik 8 beginner strength. I always look forward to your videos. You are so enjoyable to watch and I love your honesty.

    My retinoid journey goes as follows:
    I started with retinol serums which I liked then went up to retinal. I started with Youth to the People’s retinal serum which I love. After some time with I decided I was ready for prescription strength retinoic acid. I went through Apostrophe and had tretinoin at .025 prescribed. My first few months were great but then after about six months my skin couldn’t get over the flakiness and my cheeks would start to flush. I ended up going back to retinal and started off with Naturium’s Retinal serum at 0.05 and I loved it. I wanted to up again after my skin got used to that one so I bought (because you recommended) the Geek & Gorgeous A Game 10 and I loved it. Three days later after buying it, Naturium announced their retinal at .10 so I was like dang it lol. But to no complaints the G&G was amazing. However the G&G is one of the cheapest retinal serums, I had to pay double for shipping. (I live in California) so ended up paying about $40 or £32. I ended up buying the new Naturium one at .10 after I finished the G&G and loved it! It’s still $32 and with shipping almost $40 but unlike standard serums at one fluid ounce, Naturium’s is at 1.7 fl ounces. I will say I really want to go back to youth to the peoples retinal because I saw the most results from and just found out it’s at 0.15 percent. So it’s the highest potent retinal serum I’ve used but it has really good soothing and hydrating ingredients along side it and never experienced any irritation. The only downfall is the price at $70 but really good and would recommend. Specially if you want that in between from Medik8’s 0.10 and 0.20 and the price. 🙂

      I'm in Minnesota, so you and I are paying the same shipping rates. I didn't just buy the A-Game 10, I bought other things to bring my order to the $30 shipping threshold. [C serum and the mini bottle.] I still paid about $40 including shipping, but got two products, and a free 50ml tube of the Jelly Joker cleanser.
      Next order, I'll see if there are more things I want to try, to break into the next shipping tier. I'm very happy with the products I have ... if only they made a copper peptide serum!
