If youre having trouble setting this farm up you might have built to close to the water. Pillager raid spawns are random and if it happens to cross over water they just wont spawn and the raid will end prematurely. To fix this build out so its a flat area and youll catch all the spawns. ( i built something similar instead of a raid farm a year ago and im still using it, as its simpler to set up im playing on bedrock idk if that helps)
@user-nd5vi2ts2s I think it's because Java spawns are different regarding pillager spawns. Normally mobs wouldn't attempt a spawn check over water instead finding the closest block that meets the requirements to spawn a mob, but on bedrock, it doesn't work like that. I'm guessing it has something to do with mobs and how aquatic mobs in rivers spawn now in bedrock tldr it's a Java and bedrock difference thing.
@BlackLavaMage yep you'd just have to dig out the correct block amount to catch the spawns and make sure the villager is 3 blocks under where you want them to spawn. It's easier to use water buckets with lava over water it's crude and ugly but it works quicker.
@@TheOfficialGypsy_vce i built a 25x25 with a height of 5 blocks underground but the pillagers are spawning at the surface? it is atleast like 30 or 40 blocks below the surface
Great farm design works like a charm. The only complaint I have with it is sometimes witches will get stuck in the lava and chug a fire res potion and just be stuck in the lava until you go up to kill them. I edited my farm so the lava could be controlled by a dispenser and redstone line down and whenever it was down to 1 raider left for a while I'd use the dispenser to clear the lava and let the witch fall down then retrigger the lava.
beautiful farm! made it in my hardcore world and got 8 totems and 72 emeralds. WE definitely be building this in the future! You earned a sub! well done
Another suggestion is instead of using slabs: use path blocks (dirt + use shovel) to prevent the pillagers from ever seeing you unless you are crouching extremely close (which idk why you would).
If it’s not working, go to the middle of the ocean and build it up in the air but not high enough when your the grass starts to disappear. tower up until you see abit of white on the sides of the screen
Was having a little bit of trouble with this farm but realized I was close to a village with villagers trapped inside their house. Moved them to the KC room and all is good (:
@@Chapman_Farms That's what I was saying before with your new witch farm good sir. I still use your villager curing setup to this day. Love your stuff, hope you do decide to stream one day!
do you know if i can make this in superflat? im in dire need of restone and have simple iron farm, a cobblestone farm, a sugarcane farm partially done (need redstone), a mob farm, and a elytra
How much area around this farm needs to be flat? And how far away does it have to be from other villages, or does that matter? Because once I start the raid, those guys just spin around outside the farm and don’t come in.
There should be no Vexes at all. They drop down, become a 1 hit kill and you kill them... If vex spawn you either let them bundle and tried to kill all at once (witches heal them) or you didnt make it one hit kill
@@Chapman_Farmsya, one hit kills are important for this design, and i agree, never let them stack, this is not an afk farm, its a working farm. You have to work the kills, and be on top of redrinking potions. Its more tedious, but it is a good working farm, and the best source of emeralds and totems in 1.21 yet.
I built mine on a semi large island closer to bigger terrain, and the pillagers keep spawning on the bigger terrain, do I clear all that land or just connect the island to it ?
its actually working perfekt but there is this one little issue with the big ass animal that needs 4 blocks to fall down instead of 2 cause by 2 blocks he always stucks on top
you might let people know you play and build on Java and not bedrock because I just wasted time building this to find out it will not work on bedrock version
This is similar to one I saw a while ago. Way simpler though which is good. Also this does not work on bedrock. Found out the hard way. I’m hoping to find a work around but haven’t tried yet.
So, according to the Minecraft Wiki page on raids (minecraft.wiki/w/Raid#Behavior ), waves spawn a fixed X/Z distance from the raid centre (which is the average of the PoIs of the village, so the bed in this case), with a random offset. For the last wave, the fixed distance is zero, so it is trying spawning just this 0-4 random blocks from the centre of the raid (and on the top block). If they can't spawn in the water, this seems like it might often cut off the last wave (whenever this 0-4 random blocks ends up being in the water still), in a way that sometimes prematurely ends a raid before spawning the last wave. This would only happen if raid mobs can't spawn in the water though, and only cuts down on the efficiency a bit, when I guess more complex farms are faster anyway, but I am still curious whether it is an issue and whether this might easily be made more efficient by making sure the centre of the raid (and village) is outside the water, by adding a bell for example.
I think I saw it mentioned in the description, but even if its mentioned there, thats not enough! I'm personally a Java player, but I sometimes play bedrock with friends for fun. It's annoying when something turns out java-only, even if I mainly play java. Looking at other comments, I guess it works, just slower, but WHY IS IT NOT SAID IN THE VIDEO ITSELF?!
I just finished building this and ran two raids. Awesome! I have a source of totems of undying now!

Just a quick question.... Do Vexes spawn with this raid farm from the Evokers attack or do they not have time to cast them?
Well if you follow the video then the evokes won’t even know of your existence so they won’t even think to summon any attacks!
I created the farm, but none of the pillagers fell into the hole
totally gonna build this in my next video 👀
