Installation of this is 99% plug and play, and involves no permanent modifications or wirecutting to the car or car electronics. ⭐Theoretically, it should not void your warranty as there are no fault codes on VW's scanning tool. However, warranty is at the mercy of a dealership, but if needed, it is possible to revert back to stock condition. Amazing video and the complete set up of this elegant oem camera. Sadly you didn't provided information about some very important things in this process. Firstly the wiring needed in order for the camera to be power supplied, secondly the connection with the oem. factory screen, and lastly the vcds process needed to dispay the camera on the screen. The camera hides in a flap inside the truck open button. When the camera is open, you can't open the trunk. Every other time, the trunk button continues to work like before.

Civic owners in Pakistan have done the same but there are no legible documentation available over the internet even on TeamBHP. So, if you could perform the retrofit and document, it'll be the first in India and help a lot of Civic owners like me. Thanks!
Both our cars, BMW X5 and Golf GTE, have reversing cameras. What I don't like about the VWs is that as soon as you take the car out of reverse, the camera cuts off. With the X5 the camera remains for a few additional seconds. So I still have a rear view as I edge forward.
On my father's Tiguan, the Reverse Camera does stay on for a while even when in Drive so we can see the rear view. Probably just a coding thing, unless it's a trait specific to the reverse camera.
@@SujoyShivde Funnily enough, a good friend who is spending Christmas with me has a Tiguan. His reverse Camera cuts out as soon as the reverse gear is disengaged. But he has 360 view, so he can select to view the rear as he's moving foward.
Yes. Cruise Control retrofit can be easily done on the Polo 6R. Need to buy the stalk with cruise buttons and need to do some wiring to and from the BCM to the Stalks and to the ECU

Won't be available off a site. Similar part costs north of 40k from Volkswagen off the counter. GermanDNA is selling similar sets at 24k or so. So 16k is a steal to be honest. Genuine part, bearing all part numbers. All connectors have the VW branding, and only works after coding the car. No wires splices. It can't get any more genuine than this 😀 if you need one, get in touch, I'll help you order one.

Everything's working great, but I've been noticing for a while that water is entering and staying near the replacement tire and I'm almost sure it's coming from the camera symbol. Since my Polo doesn't t have any visible hole in the door for the water to exit, I'm thinking that probably they did fit any drain tube. Now I'm gonna take the moulding out and see what's going on and hopefully resolve the issue.

Is it fine to power camera directly from fuse box with continuous 12V DC supply even when the reverse gear is not engaged ? The aftermarket camera for my vento has stopped functioning as I had powered it directly from fuse box rather than powering through tail light. The vendor says that the camera module has burnt and it is meant to be powered from reverse tail light signal only. Isn't this case with OEM cameras? It would be really helpful if you can throw some light over it.
I'm sure it depends from camera to camera. The OEM VW Flip Camera takes constant 12V fused power, but it is used partly for the lock contact and motor to flip when it also receives a reverse signal. Aftermarket cameras, pull power entirely from the reverse light signal, and so in those cases, using 12V direct supply might cause damage.

Yeah it is nearly plug and play, you only need a slight tap on the reverse signal. The RCD510 cannot support this kind of camera, but the RCD510 will work with OEM parking sensors. If you want you can install just the rear ones, or both front and rear depending on what you want.
Yes, I have routed the drain pipe and tested it for over two years. You can also read more about it on my TeamBHP thread, linked in the description below. If you route it there, you should have no problems whatsoever :)

What type of camera is it? If it's a bumper region camera, there's a waterproof grommet which you'll have to modify to take the wire from the outside to the inside of the car. Then it can be wired in quite a few ways e.g below carpet liner, edge of the seats, along the floor trims, and ultimately behind the Headunit.
Depends on the type of your camera, it might be a +15 or +30 terminal power point. The actual fuse spot depends on your car's electrical configuration. OEM camera requires constant power (i.e.+30). Typical accessories need (+15)

Hi bro, no. Sadly the original camera does not have a video delay timer. The flip motor waits 15 seconds after shifting out of reverse and then closes. It does not display video output for those 15 seconds.
No, no bumper change required. The sensor holes have been cut using an OEM Factory Sensor cutting tool. It allows precise cutting in OEM way. The sensors are mounted from inside through sensor brackets. That's why it's so flush and OEM.

@@adisoni8314 If you use a Genuine Flip camera and wire it correctly as per VW's wiring diagram without wire tapping, cutting, then no worries about warranty voiding. If you use an aftermarket cam or wire it with wire cutting, then dealers could reject your warranty.
just wondering does this camera also work on 1,2 TSI from 2013 (which I already retrofitterd RNS510 to)? if I also want moving guidelines (OPS) do I need any special module? thanks
RNS510 won't support this camera. You need a Composition/Discover Media or a RCD330/340 for this camera to work. Moving guideline OPS requires a different module.

Hi Sujoy, is there any option to upgrade the stock headlights without voiding the warranty? The dealership has told me that they do have more powerful oem bulbs, but would cost 2K per pair and 4K for changing both low n high beam bulbs. What’s your take on this?
That actually doesn’t sound so bad since I got told that the entire units need to be taken out and new ones with led need to be put in for 30 something per headlight. Yikes!

How does the trunk open mechanism of flipping the logo still work then?

You cannot open the boot when the camera is out. But other times, the boot button functions as normal. It costs near 15-16k

You don't have to drill if you found a suitable grommet to route the pipe. Read my teambhp post for more details

The grommet is best accessible after taking either the rear bumper out or prying the inside boot lid plastic trim upwards.

Yes it's a good car. Try negotiating, but I've heard this car is now rare in the used car market, so 7.5L is quite reasonable and typical

Yeah, but not on the Polo 6R. It's factory fitted on the T-Roc, Passat etc.

@@adisoni8314 If you use a Genuine Flip camera and wire it correctly as per VW's wiring diagram without wire tapping, cutting, then no worries about warranty voiding. If you use an aftermarket cam or wire it with wire cutting, then dealers could reject your warranty.
just wondering does this camera also work on 1,2 TSI from 2013 (which I already retrofitterd RNS510 to)?
if I also want moving guidelines (OPS) do I need any special module?

RNS510 won't support this camera. You need a Composition/Discover Media or a RCD330/340 for this camera to work. Moving guideline OPS requires a different module.

Depends on which one you get and how you do the wiring. If you do it without cutting, splicing wires, then no chance of a warranty void.

No problem. At 5k, we can get a Genuine VW Reverse Camera that can be installed with minimal wire cutting, with a fair resolution too.

Hi Sujoy, is there any option to upgrade the stock headlights without voiding the warranty? The dealership has told me that they do have more powerful oem bulbs, but would cost 2K per pair and 4K for changing both low n high beam bulbs. What’s your take on this?

That actually doesn’t sound so bad since I got told that the entire units need to be taken out and new ones with led need to be put in for 30 something per headlight. Yikes!

Yes, it is possible to install a rear wiper. You might have to replace the rear windshield and then install and wire in the new rear wiper.
