He's just a troll and doesn't know his facts. Imagine a guy who is going to be 27 without a single gold medal at the Olympics being in the conversation for the GOAT. Lol...
Nah Usain Bolt is still the king. Don’t get me wrong Lyles is great, but Lyles doesn’t have the raw acceleration and top speed that Usain Bolt had in his prime. Lyles hasn’t even run sub 9.8 yet in the 100m that’s why he won’t break Usain Bolt’s 200m, he loses too much time in the first 100m. Bolt is the only person we have seen that was able to run the first 100m of a 200m sprint in under 10 seconds, if Lyles can’t get to that level, he won’t be breaking Bolt’s record it’s that simple.
my guy, i hear you. don't get me wrong lyles is the most consistent sprinter of all time, he's ran like 20 sub 20's in the 200 which is just ridiculous, but when it comes to bolts raw speed, no one can catch him. he can improve his start cause my gosh is it slow compared to others, i was literally at world indoors and he was dead last out of the blocks in his heat. he can improve it, but improving to colemen level reaction times? that is not happening. like i'm all for lyles breaking records, but imo he is not catching bolt. He's got a chance at blakes time but i don't got him breaking bolts. the guy was a 6ft 5 machine. Plus he has to take about 5 less strides than lyles every race. similar to blake in brussels, I think in paris he'll run fast enough, but not get the start needed to beat bolt. All for lyles to prove me wrong but right now I don't see him doing all that. We also gotta remember that lyles isn't running against as elite sprinters as bolt was. to name a few: Gatlin, Powell, Blake, Gay, De Grasse and a young colemen. Now Lyles only competition is maybe Knighton and Tebogo in the 200 and Zharnel and maybe colemen int the 100. Not saying it's easy, but it's easier than it was in Bolt's era, most of the guys i mentioned that ran against bolt would eat up the 100m gold against these guys. In conclusion (jeez this sounds like an essay) I think lyles is great for the sport cause he brings so much character and is a great sprinter, but won't reach the heights of bolt, even if that means he wins more medals. TED TALK OVER.
Not the most consistent sprinter, in that he didnt double until now. Perhaps the most consistent 200m runner, but even there its arguable. Bolt has 2 times faster than him and dominates the 19.40 and below ranking.
I appreciate the comment riftz, however I was speaking on a hypothetical. I find it interesting to improve the “stats” on an athlete and see how they’d stack against wrs. But I also still kinda believe it’s possible. My boy js need to avert his training to starts
Breaking the 100m WR? Lol. Look, here's some actual reliable numbers: - Lyles' fastest 60m split: 6.43s. - Bolt's fastest 60m split: 6.31s (2nd all time) - Lyles' fastest 60...100m split: 3.37s - Usain's: 3.27s Put it simple, Lyles is not in the conversation, period. Lyles' top end, though very fast, is way behind Usain's.
@@Yes_I_c4n Olympic sprinters are known for the 100m and 200m double. Those who do the 200m predominantly are usually as fit for the 100m. I think I know my sport ☠️
The kid is just a troll. He watched "The way to win" videos about Lyles being faster than UB in the 100m and he fell for it. Bad data, plus, while having a +4.4m/s wind behind him and this guy has the nerve to say that Lyles ran faster than UB in the 100m. Poor kid, doesn't even know his numbers.
No he didn't, he just said NBA players can't be classified as world champions since they only compete in national competitions. Isn't that basic logic.
Mate, Lyles has not ran a 19.30s. He ran 19.31s. Get your data right. Also, a sprinter topping UB? And that sprinter being Noah Lyles? Lol, you're just a troll... C'mon...
@@WillDaPill07 Okay, that was one race only. That was kind of an outlier though. I don't think he is going to clock another 19.3s ever again, let alone top it. Nowadays he is much more focused on the double.
Breaking the 100m WR? hahahahahahahaha. Look, lets see him try Blake's 200m PB, which had a HORRIBLE reaction time. Give him an average reaction time and that race is even faster than the 19.19s WR. However, its a 1 off on a gently curving track. As to the 100m. Please stop it. A 9.8s PB guy can never be in the convo to break 9.58s. That is an alien WR. Both TG and YB have 9.69s PBs and nobody is in the convo to break that among current athletes. Note that as great as Gatlin was, his PB is 9.74s, behind even Asafa Powell at 9.72s. 9.6s is no talk for normies to be making.
You must really be young. Go back and look on the Globals in 2008/09/12 seasons. Lyles 100m PB is like 9.83s. It will surely go lower this year but know that Bolt has litterally JOGGED 9.85s in the prelims back in those peak years for him. I didn't see this race but a pal in Trinidad did, ie his 9.76s run in TNT. The pal said Bolt hardly moved out of first gear. Lots of you young guys really only know 2015 to 2017 Bolt when he lost his edge by not training very hard (and still was beating people). Go hunt down the old videos and you will understand. Bolt broke the 200m WR TWICE. Both times after 7 rounds before the 200m final. Nowadays globals have 3 not 4 rounds. Lyles only started to double last year. He will soon see the toll it takes to win double gold AND break WRs. Lyles is extremely good, but dont get carried away.
I literally said bro is the best of all time in the video I ain’t a younglin ☠️ You old heads js love meat riding the greats, with no thought of someone inevitably surpassing them
@@aidenfelifell Someone obviously can surpass Bolt, but it won't be easy. One thing we know for sure, though, it won't be a 27 years old guy (Lyles) who hasn't got a single (not one) gold Olympic medal who does it... Listen, Bolt won 3 gold medals at the Olympics 2008, at 21 years of age and broke 3 WRs in the process, including a 9.69s (showboating) and a 19.30s into a 0.9m/s. The following year, Bolt again broke 2 WRs (9.58s and 19.19s into a 0.3m/s wind speed) and got 3 gold medals at worlds 2009, at the age of 22. In 2011, at worlds, Bolt got Gold in the 200 and 4x100 and failed to get gold in the 100m only because he false started. In 2012, Bolt got 3 gold medals at the 2012 Olympics in London, including 1 OR (9.63s) and 1 WR (36.84s) and a 19.32s while slowing down for the last 10 m of the race - could have been a 19.27s. So, by the time Bolt was 25 years old, he had already won 3+3 Gold medals at the Olympics, set several WRs, several OR, and got triples at Worlds back to back. Obviously, he's not on the same level as someone who is turning 27 with zero Gold medals at the Olympics, zero world records, zero OR, and so on. You are very delusional.
