Richard (William Holden) and Ann Thorn (Lee Grant) have taken their 13-year-old nephew, Damien (Jonathan Scott-Taylor), into their Chicago home following the death of Richard's brother seven years earlier. The Thorns love the child, whom they are sending to military school, but not everyone is so sanguine about his presence. Soon after Great Aunt Marion (Sylvia Sidney) expresses concerns about the boy, she dies suddenly and unexpectedly. And she is certainly not the last.

Summer of 1994 I was in USMC boot camp at MCRD San Diego. We did our rifle qualifying, field training (tromping around in the woods) and other weapons training at Camp Pendleton. We were having a class on the M60E3 7.62mm belt fed machine gun. All of us recruits were seated in some outdoor bleachers on the firing range. Our machine gun instructor was a Marine of African American descent who was at least 10 years older than us. He was telling us recruits about a runaway machine gun and how to stop it. A runaway machine gun is when you take your finger off the trigger and it keeps on firing. He said "When DAMIEN takes over your machine gun and it continues to fire by itself just grab the ammunition belt and give it a good twist to break the ammo belt" All of us recruits being 1980s kids KNEW exactly who he was talking about when he mentioned Damien! 😧😂🤣
I thought this was a bit better it was interesting seeing his teenage years and when he comes to find out who he is he hates it but soon he embraced his fate one evil dude.
Even at 7 years old i loved this. It has stayed one of my favourite 5 movies for almost 35 years.
This is actually my favorite in the series. The original is definitely a better movie, but this one is more entertaining in my opinion. The Final Conflict is good mainly because of Sam Neil as the adult Damien. Merry Christmas brother.👍

Omen 3 is an alright movie. It's the worst of the 3, but it's not god awful levels or anything. Just....average. It has a pre Jurassic Park Sam Neill as Damien. It's definitely worth checking out though to see the finale of the Damien Thorne saga.
Personally i'm not a huge fan of Omen 3, i find it boring in places, but it has some great kills including my favourite horror film kill, without giving away too many spoilers, it happens in a tv studio.

I love this. The disappointing thing is they had planned to do Omen 3 in 1980 with the same actor as Damien, but because it didn't make as much money as they hoped they instead did boring Omen 3 in 81 with wooden Sam Neil.

The Omen Trilogy has always been my favorite horror franchise.
Also, did you know that Gregory Peck wasn't the first actor, they sought after, to play the role of the ambassador in the Omen? Actually, it was the actor who played Damien's Uncle(William Holden) in Damien Omen II. It was said that when he was offered the role to play the ambassador, that he was not impressed and didn't want to be associated in movies about the devil. However, after the Omen was a huge hit, he jumped all over the role to play the Uncle in Damien Omen II.
Perhaps, that was for the best. Because I cannot picture anyone else playing Damien's father, in the Omen but Gregory Peck. Also, it teaches us all a big lesson, on looking down on roles and passing on them.

7:09 That actually isn't a dummy. That's a stunt double. Elizabeth Shepherd's stunt double was supposed to fly on Top of the truck and be in a crucifixion pose BUT she hit the truck on accident and wanted to retake it and do it right.
They did retake the shot, but they decided to use the "accident" in the film instead where she hit the side of the truck.

Great reaction. I've loved this film since i was 7 in 1987. It's my 4th favourite movie of all time and my second favourite horror film after the original Halloween (my favourite ever movie) which was also made in 78.

You never find out what happened to Mark’s real mother, Richard’s first wife….my theory is when Damien first came to live with them… she found out something about Damien that she shouldn’t have… Just saying…

Ironically,Jonathan Scott Taylor(Damien) is a devout Anglican IRL and in fact ironically played Jesus in a school play two years before being cast as the Antichrist.

@@PopcornReactions Yep, also Harvey Stephens and Scott Taylor were both natural blonds who had their hair dyed black to play Damien. The irritation of the dye helped them get into character which, particularly in Stephens` case, made him "a real terror" on set according to the crew. Stephens is now a lawyer in his native Kent,is fairly well-adjusted and claims he doesn`t remember much of the filming.
