Traditional knives are where it’s at, imo. I’m a 50 year old gal in Austin. I work at an animal shelter and find uses for my knives at work, definitely. Nowadays I mainly carry a Case Sodbuster, Case Peanut, and a Victorinox Spartan. The latter has opened a lot cans of pumpkin at work. I guess I got bored with moderns about 10 years ago and haven’t looked back. Traditionals just feel right to me. And I find them beautiful. Moderns leave me cold now. Looking forward to more traditional content on your channel! 🙂
The biggest problem with modern knives is the lack of satisfaction with them. It seems their always wanting the new model with modern steels. A Buck or Case is a knife that one just uses and keep using. When they get a bit rough around the edges it just makes them even more personal and becomes a part of life, like an old friend thats always there. Great video
I have old case knives that I have inherited from my great-uncle's and grandfather's, some of them date to the early 1900s. They where mostly farmers and always just drop them in their pocket and kept working in the fields. most of these knives still have plenty of snap left in the old back Springs and blades may have a little side to side play but they are still just as useful. But I have a collection of my own that is very mixed and still find myself using these more traditional pocket knives. My favorite pattern is the old muskrat.

I cant stand "reviewers" who just talk about action/which bearings are the most drop shutty/fat carbon peepeepoopoo/etc. If a knife is marketed as a working cutting tool, then its primary purpose is to cut, and if it cant do that well: it fails. I see way too many people recommending knives without putting any kind of significant use behind them.

I must admit, I’ve seen other older vids of yours in the past, and I was quick to write you off as just another person with a sebenza, that was a steel snob, yada yada yada. I was wrong, and I’m sorry I was quick to judge. You happen to like similar traditional patterns to myself, particularly the skinner sodbuster blade shape. I know you later got a Bruin, which also has that same blade shape. But getting back, I quickly got very tired of all the modern folder ppl, who had to have either a $400 benchmade or some $200 Chinese titanium carbon fiber milled pocket blah blah blah. I quickly realized most of those ppl don’t even use their knives for anything other than opening Amazon packages. Yes I like my benchmade bug out, but I’m more prone to grab my carbon steel slip joints, or a locking Buck 110 style knife. You’re so right about the community too. I don’t really interact too much, but I have noticed the traditional ppl are way more friendly, kind, helpful, and all around more pleasant to interact with. The modern folder guys who have to have everything titanium, gushing over some Chinese made milled pocket clip, I found annoying. And then they bust out their $1500 folder that’s anodized titanium, looks like a $15 gas station knife, and if you even mention that, they cry and say your jealous. I could care less. So it’s refreshing to watch your vids, knowing you see what I’ve been describing. I’d love to see them process a rabbit like you did with that mini case trapper, with their Chinese titanium knife, they wouldn’t have a clue what to do. They all talk shit about Spey blades, until it’s time to do that lol keep up the good work.
Hi Erica, great video on an old time pattern that dates way back to the 1600's Eastern European area. Its roots were the old 'clasp knife' or folding butchers pattern. They have been a working knife for a few centuries now, with the Case sodbuster being the choice working folks way pre-dating the Buck 110 of the 1970's and on. Thin blade stock with a flat grind, slicing well is what they are designed to do, at a very moderate cost. Down here in the Texas Hill country, Case is well respected, and you see a lotto the yellow Sodbuster's being sold in the local Tractor Supply. Ranch hands, farmers, construction workers. Our driveway had to repaved, and the head guy and a few of his workers all had a large yellow sodbuster in an open top leather belt sheath. I think the sodbuster is like the French Opinel's that I love, just a hard working knife for the peasants that actually do the work. You need to try an Eye-Brand wood handle sodbuster. Edit to ad; I think as you get older, you will find yourself drawn more and more to the older traditional's and the beautiful simplicity of knives like the sodbuster. The two hand opening makes you slow down a bit and give you time to appreciate things. I know my own views and likes changed radically in my 40's, then more in my 50's. Now at 72, I'd hate to carry what I did in my 20's. Life is lived in stages, and things change as we age.
Get yourself a traditional hurricane oil lantern, or a Coleman pressure lantern. They pump out a bit of heat as well as light. You won’t be sweating but you won’t freeze either. A guy in UK uses an Aladdin lamp for light and heat on a narrow boat in Uk. Ps. Nice vid.
i think the waters of the knife world have been so muddied that it’s just getting tired. who cares what knife you have? who cares how often you use it? who cares what little corner of whatever little community you think you belong to? it’s a damn knife. it’s metal made sharp. that’s it. so long as you keep it sharp and clean, they’re all gonna do essentially the same thing which is to cut. you can have a goddamned $5 gas station toothpick of a knife and make it work so long as you know how. people are getting so insecure about people who actually use their knives to the fullest extent. the people making these complaints are the same people who abide by the “better to have it and not need it” rule. i own a handful of knives and by far the most expensive one was my Buck 110. you don’t need a $500 knife and you don’t need a “traditional” knife just to feel good about yourself. you make the knife what it is. it doesn’t matter about the design or intended use, you can butcher an animal with a box cutter and by doing so, you have made your box cutter into a butchering tool.
Great video, I’m glad to see the case steel is holding up well. Maybe down the road you can get a Buck knife to test their 420 HC. I also do think you should get your hands on an Opinel knife with carbon steel. I think you’d appreciate one.

Try and stay positive. BIG things are happening. Really good things, despite what you may hear on the 'news' etc. I would try to avoid television altogether and limit phone/social media time. Get out in nature more. Always works well for me!
I'm a traditionals guy but I grew up when that was all there was. They just have character and soul. Have a few Moderns for specific uses, sometimes a one hand opener is useful. I understand what you are saying here, a content creator with a $400 Modern talking about how they have to have blah super steel, at the end of the video you find out they open boxes and clam packaging at home with it feels like a bit of a nothing burger because you can do that with 420 or 440 just as well. A great little talk here under less than ideal circumstances, good stuff!!!
Yepp....thanks for the video....have a yellow sod buster Jr. Been in my pocket for 14 yrs now. Stripped tonnes of wire with it and have cut more things than can count..tried many modern flip opening knives but always go back to the sod buster easy to sharpen and has a great profile.
I have been watching your channel lately and welcome to the traditional knife world. I am an old dude that's been carring Case Mini trapppers for years, and have never been disappointed in my daily carry. " Keep your hands sharp"
I do like my modern knives but I prefer using my traditionals. 95% of what I do I don't need anything more then my large Case stockman. I may have never gotten into traditionals if it hadn't been for family tradition of the guys carrying a stockman and as a result getting me interested in finding out the origin of the stockman and eventually ravishly consuming any information I could learn about all traditionals and the heritage behind them.
Being in my 50's, I grew up using slip joints. These days, I mostly use modern folders; e.g. flippers, thumb studs, etc. But I have to say, slip joint knives (especially the older ones) really have 'soul' that the newer style knives just don't have. Could be the nostalgia of it, but that's how I see them and still enjoy carrying and using them. Side note, I really hope the weather improves by you. And it's not easy being without heat or power. Keep up the great videos. 👍
I got my first Case knife for christmas and im completely hooked. I love my flippers and modern folders to fidget with but theres a beauty that the Case bone handles have that is hard to beat for the price. The Rough Rider line of knives are pretty affordable too so if its a pattern thats kinda weird Ill prob go for one of those (more knives = better) but just the old style knives in general really click with me these days. It feels like I have a connection to a simpler time when Im using one.
Interestingly enough, I’ve gone the other way. I was a huge slipjoint/traditional knife guy for years and years, and have lately gone one handed opening locking edc knife guy. The reason for the change tho might surprise you. I feel that our grandads, as hardworking and practical as they were, would more then likely be carrying a modern one handed locking folder rather then a pocket carry two handed opening slippie had they been available at the time. It’s just more practical. I still love my slippie tho, but this current incarnation of my knife life has taken a turn towards the modern. I’ll be back eventually. Lol
I’ve commented a few times as to how my knife preferences have mirrored yours. I love, and use crk the most. I also love traditional, and use them. I understand fidget knives, but it doesn’t do it for me. Modern or traditional, what gets me going, is a knife where the design choices were made for use. Reinforced thin grinds for slicing without breaking. Choils and plunge grinds for years of edges. Usable and sharpen able steels. Handles with no hotspots. I understand gem like fidgety knives and their appeal, but they don’t bind to me. That’s the feeling I get from your videos as well, and it’s why I come back for your thoughts. Thanks for putting them out there!
Well used and well cared for have a beauty of their own. Knives, sheaths, axes, tool boxes, trucks, boots, tractors, cabins, barns, dogs and people. That's when the real interesting stories begin. Ask and then listen. You can't make this stuff up.
I’m definitely a traditional fan, I just like the way a slipjoint works, the snap it makes when it’s opened and closed, and the way the bone or stag covers feel in the hand. I enjoy the beauty and simplicity of traditional Slip joints. I enjoy the craftsmanship of the handle materials and the variety of the patterns. Fair warning, once you start exploring traditionals, it can be a rabbit hole…true, a rabbit hole of the most enjoyable sort. Take the ride, there is much to discover…then you can explore traditional European slip joints, including the gorgeous Italians made in Maniago.
Ive been selling all my modern knives. Going all traditional. Even bought up two Queen made pocket knifes to test, you would be shocked of the quality, can rival Case which I also have. I did keep a Cold Steel Recon 1 for shtf lol with a few other modern ones.
What you said about the old, worker grandpa ideology...that's also what made me go into slipjoints and traditional knives. I usually dress like a rapper, but man...I surely love that old american ideology. Maybe it's because I'm in Brazil and hard work isn't appreciated (literally, hard workers are seen as low-class, must-be-exploited people while the rich guy that can't even cook is seen as the top dog) and the wages are shit...but, anyway, I got in love with it. And traditional knives really crystalize that blue collar spirit. Now my end goal is to end my days in my forest cabin, sorrounded by my grandsons, each one carrying one of my blades.
As you may know, we are very limited in what we can EDC, here in the UK, as anything over 3" blade that locks, and can be opened with one hand, will get you a prison sentance over here.....i have a GOAT multitool, and an "old timer" style twin blade pocket knife, from rough rider....yep, i know, i know....they're Chinese, BUT the quality is great, so what the hell....ive bought 2 different styles....thanks for a good video.....merry Christmas.....Dee.
Knives are indeed tools to be used. There’s nothing exciting or unique about people who just buy expensive knives to show off. If you don’t use it on a daily basis, you’re just keeping it nice for the next guy. Any knife that gets daily use is cool. And I’m not into the buying dozens and dozens of knives just to have them. Find a handful of different configurations and blade profiles that you like and stick with those handful of knives. It’s dumb to keep buying the same style of knife with a different brand on the tang. I’m also buying the history of the company when I buy their knife. Thanks for the great video. I like your style.
I think the only thing I've used my knife for at one job was cutting boxes. I used a razor knife mostly because it was easy to change blades and not screw up a nice knife I broke the tip off my Buck 110 the first day I had it dropping it on the concrete
👍👍👍👍👍 because only one above was not enough. You are spot on about those that use what they carry. Plus there is something extra about pulling a traditional out of your pocket, peeling a blade out, putting to work and then retiring it compared to some fidget folder wouldn't be up to the job and the pocket clip would wear a hole in your hide with extended use. I think you're living in the best time to be a knife enthusiast. The variety of knives is amazing and they are comparatively inexpensive. In the 70's a typical Case or Buck knife would cost me more than a day's pay. These days I could earn enough working that same job to buy one before lunch.

I prefer traditional knives because I use them. So I have no fancy knives at all and nothing collectable so if someone doesn't have a knife I have no problem giving them one. My neighbor was talking about getting a folder so I had him pick one out of my box of misc knives and he found one that glowed in the dark.
I use all my knives, however when recently I started collecting more and more expensive blades, I started babying them and refused to use them. Tony Kim inspired me to not be a bitch and use them how they are intended lol. P.S. you have inspired me to get a a simple 1095 folder
After misplacing our can opener over the Christmas holidays, I constantly carry a Swiss Army knife. After buying a Buck knife for my son, I was disappointed that it was made in China. Since then, I started collecting Boker Solingen knives.
I’m a mechanic/fabricator so I use my knives every day.. I just don’t like non locking knives because of how I use it on a daily basis.. Lock backs are great though.. I use every knife I have including my autos.. I have to admit a couple are for going out to town in but I still use them. Great topic btw!

Back in the 1950s, all us teenage guys had penknives in our pockets. While in the USAF I carried a Robeson folder in the arm pocket of my flight jacket. Later, in the Philadelphia PD, I had that same Robeson (or whatever I confiscated from some gang member) in my pocket. Now retired, I always have a knife on me when working in the yard or in the car. I agree with you about the traditional folders. They are working knives without the unnecessary ball bearing flippers that only add cost and another gadget to malfunction. Oh, and I have NEVER used a pocket clip.
I got a Case Russlock. I can open it with only one hand it’s really convenient one for me to open mail and boxes and don’t have to worry about the suddenly close. I still couldn’t fully trust half stop on tradition knives
I can honestly say I legitimately carry and use my 700 dollar CKF knife on the daily and don’t shy away with cutting straps with it or trimming off some material around the backyard. I do appreciate old slipjoint designs though.
There is just a nostalgia to the traditional folders. Maybe it's because i am old and remember life before the modern flippers/folders. I have plenty of those, but the traditional will always draw me in more. I collect GEC, Case and Schatt & Morgan knives and carry at least one of these every day. I also have a Rockstead Hizen that I carry everyday. And I use them all. No need for me to choose between the two.
Great video. I do have a majority of my collection as case queens, but I also have a core of knives that I rotate. I'm only interested in traditional knives. Case knives are my favorite. I have yet to handle a GEC knife. My main carry is a Case Medium Stockman. I also love the smaller patterns for weekend- off duty carry.

I'm just not with you on this, Erica. First, the slipjoints aren't as safe. That's why Buck 110, for example, has a backlock. And the advancements in steel technology thanks to science have been massive. Traditional knives like Case knives are definitely different, but they are not better. The attraction to them is like romance. It's about feelings, not facts. But keep on doing what you do. There are many branches in the knife community. As Nick would say, it's a beautiful thing!

Lol I’m different just picked up a CS Yellow Delrin Large Trapper yesterday for my 86th Case Knife and my Son is bringing my Buck 113 over tomorrow for my 11th Buck USA I did get a gorgeous Boker Canvas Micarta Copper Barlow last week in O1 so I guess that makes me traditional eh? I still think for testing Case to be fair you need a CS Blade in a Delrin Handle so you get the big Birds Eye Rivet on the pivot bc those little rivets on the bone handles will develop blade play while your GEC never will and you will conclude that Case Sucks Love you 😘 don’t freeze JO makes my sheaths and they are inexpensive and heavy leather and great
Yes, I’m traditional, but will run modern knife like my Spyderco and trading knife at the same time. Very common for me to run three knives at a time. Usually alternate my pocket and my traditional folding case knifes. Uncle Henry and a Buck stockman, old timer muskrat are just some of the pocket knifes I carry. I have a Old Timer trapper that is one of my very favorites, had given that knife to my father in law, after he passes I got it back. For a larger trade knife I like the lock blades . Their are many. But all these knifes are sought after knifes at flea markets. Back in the day for a lot of us outdoors people, before SAN we readily available we would have a traditional camp folder like a Boy Scout with the can opener etc and the military with the opener, awl etc., I still really like these. So typically I will edc a modern knife like my Spyderco and have a pocket knife like a stockman also. The best of both worlds cause I do daily task that would require a use for both of these knifes. When you see us cutting off a piece of apple with a pocket knife and eating it off the blade you know we are serious, lol. Really like this series of traditional knife but better than that you are very interesting most of all. By reading some of the comments looks like lot of us traditional dudes are enjoying you and your content. Keep on keeping it on.

I would try to avoid television altogether and limit phone/social media time. Get out in nature more. Always works well for me!

I'm a traditionals guy but I grew up when that was all there was. They just have character and soul. Have a few Moderns for specific uses, sometimes a one hand opener is useful. I understand what you are saying here, a content creator with a $400 Modern talking about how they have to have blah super steel, at the end of the video you find out they open boxes and clam packaging at home with it feels like a bit of a nothing burger because you can do that with 420 or 440 just as well. A great little talk here under less than ideal circumstances, good stuff!!!
Yepp....thanks for the video....have a yellow sod buster Jr. Been in my pocket for 14 yrs now. Stripped tonnes of wire with it and have cut more things than can count..tried many modern flip opening knives but always go back to the sod buster easy to sharpen and has a great profile.

I do like my modern knives but I prefer using my traditionals. 95% of what I do I don't need anything more then my large Case stockman. I may have never gotten into traditionals if it hadn't been for family tradition of the guys carrying a stockman and as a result getting me interested in finding out the origin of the stockman and eventually ravishly consuming any information I could learn about all traditionals and the heritage behind them.

Being in my 50's, I grew up using slip joints. These days, I mostly use modern folders; e.g. flippers, thumb studs, etc. But I have to say, slip joint knives (especially the older ones) really have 'soul' that the newer style knives just don't have. Could be the nostalgia of it, but that's how I see them and still enjoy carrying and using them. Side note, I really hope the weather improves by you. And it's not easy being without heat or power. Keep up the great videos. 👍

I got my first Case knife for christmas and im completely hooked. I love my flippers and modern folders to fidget with but theres a beauty that the Case bone handles have that is hard to beat for the price. The Rough Rider line of knives are pretty affordable too so if its a pattern thats kinda weird Ill prob go for one of those (more knives = better) but just the old style knives in general really click with me these days. It feels like I have a connection to a simpler time when Im using one.

Interestingly enough, I’ve gone the other way. I was a huge slipjoint/traditional knife guy for years and years, and have lately gone one handed opening locking edc knife guy. The reason for the change tho might surprise you. I feel that our grandads, as hardworking and practical as they were, would more then likely be carrying a modern one handed locking folder rather then a pocket carry two handed opening slippie had they been available at the time. It’s just more practical. I still love my slippie tho, but this current incarnation of my knife life has taken a turn towards the modern. I’ll be back eventually. Lol

I’ve commented a few times as to how my knife preferences have mirrored yours. I love, and use crk the most. I also love traditional, and use them. I understand fidget knives, but it doesn’t do it for me. Modern or traditional, what gets me going, is a knife where the design choices were made for use. Reinforced thin grinds for slicing without breaking. Choils and plunge grinds for years of edges. Usable and sharpen able steels. Handles with no hotspots. I understand gem like fidgety knives and their appeal, but they don’t bind to me. That’s the feeling I get from your videos as well, and it’s why I come back for your thoughts. Thanks for putting them out there!

I’m definitely a traditional fan, I just like the way a slipjoint works, the snap it makes when it’s opened and closed, and the way the bone or stag covers feel in the hand. I just like old school things in general. Today I have a Case XX large Stockman on me 👍🏼 also thanks very much for the shoutout the other day!

Slip joints. I enjoy the craftsmanship of the handle materials and the variety of the patterns. Fair warning, once you start exploring traditionals, it can be a rabbit hole…true, a rabbit hole of the most enjoyable sort. Take the ride, there is much to discover…then you can explore traditional European slip joints, including the gorgeous Italians made in Maniago.

Ive been selling all my modern knives. Going all traditional. Even bought up two Queen made pocket knifes to test, you would be shocked of the quality, can rival Case which I also have. I did keep a Cold Steel Recon 1 for shtf lol with a few other modern ones.

What you said about the old, worker grandpa ideology...that's also what made me go into slipjoints and traditional knives. I usually dress like a rapper, but man...I surely love that old american ideology. Maybe it's because I'm in Brazil and hard work isn't appreciated (literally, hard workers are seen as low-class, must-be-exploited people while the rich guy that can't even cook is seen as the top dog) and the wages are shit...but, anyway, I got in love with it. And traditional knives really crystalize that blue collar spirit. Now my end goal is to end my days in my forest cabin, sorrounded by my grandsons, each one carrying one of my blades.
As you may know, we are very limited in what we can EDC, here in the UK, as anything over 3" blade that locks, and can be opened with one hand, will get you a prison sentance over here.....i have a GOAT multitool, and an "old timer" style twin blade pocket knife, from rough rider....yep, i know, i know....they're Chinese, BUT the quality is great, so what the hell....ive bought 2 different styles....thanks for a good video.....merry Christmas.....Dee.

Knives are indeed tools to be used. There’s nothing exciting or unique about people who just buy expensive knives to show off. If you don’t use it on a daily basis, you’re just keeping it nice for the next guy. Any knife that gets daily use is cool. And I’m not into the buying dozens and dozens of knives just to have them. Find a handful of different configurations and blade profiles that you like and stick with those handful of knives. It’s dumb to keep buying the same style of knife with a different brand on the tang. I’m also buying the history of the company when I buy their knife. Thanks for the great video. I like your style.

I think the only thing I've used my knife for at one job was cutting boxes. I used a razor knife mostly because it was easy to change blades and not screw up a nice knife

👍👍👍👍👍 because only one above was not enough. You are spot on about those that use what they carry. Plus there is something extra about pulling a traditional out of your pocket, peeling a blade out, putting to work and then retiring it compared to some fidget folder wouldn't be up to the job and the pocket clip would wear a hole in your hide with extended use.
I think you're living in the best time to be a knife enthusiast. The variety of knives is amazing and they are comparatively inexpensive. In the 70's a typical Case or Buck knife would cost me more than a day's pay. These days I could earn enough working that same job to buy one before lunch.

I prefer traditional knives because I use them. So I have no fancy knives at all and nothing collectable so if someone doesn't have a knife I have no problem giving them one. My neighbor was talking about getting a folder so I had him pick one out of my box of misc knives and he found one that glowed in the dark.

I use all my knives, however when recently I started collecting more and more expensive blades, I started babying them and refused to use them. Tony Kim inspired me to not be a bitch and use them how they are intended lol.

After misplacing our can opener over the Christmas holidays, I constantly carry a Swiss Army knife.
After buying a Buck knife for my son, I was disappointed that it was made in China. Since then, I started collecting Boker Solingen knives.
Fidget doesn’t mean China at all what a a strange comment. I love fidget friendly USA made knives first.

I’m a mechanic/fabricator so I use my knives every day.. I just don’t like non locking knives because of how I use it on a daily basis.. Lock backs are great though.. I use every knife I have including my autos.. I have to admit a couple are for going out to town in but I still use them. Great topic btw!

Back in the 1950s, all us teenage guys had penknives in our pockets. While in the USAF I carried a Robeson folder in the arm pocket of my flight jacket. Later, in the Philadelphia PD, I had that same Robeson (or whatever I confiscated from some gang member) in my pocket. Now retired, I always have a knife on me when working in the yard or in the car.
I agree with you about the traditional folders. They are working knives without the unnecessary ball bearing flippers that only add cost and another gadget to malfunction.
Oh, and I have NEVER used a pocket clip.

I got a Case Russlock. I can open it with only one hand it’s really convenient one for me to open mail and boxes and don’t have to worry about the suddenly close. I still couldn’t fully trust half stop on tradition knives

I can honestly say I legitimately carry and use my 700 dollar CKF knife on the daily and don’t shy away with cutting straps with it or trimming off some material around the backyard. I do appreciate old slipjoint designs though.

There is just a nostalgia to the traditional folders. Maybe it's because i am old and remember life before the modern flippers/folders. I have plenty of those, but the traditional will always draw me in more. I collect GEC, Case and Schatt & Morgan knives and carry at least one of these every day. I also have a Rockstead Hizen that I carry everyday. And I use them all. No need for me to choose between the two.

Great video. I do have a majority of my collection as case queens, but I also have a core of knives that I rotate. I'm only interested in traditional knives. Case knives are my favorite. I have yet to handle a GEC knife. My main carry is a Case Medium Stockman. I also love the smaller patterns for weekend- off duty carry.

The thing I don't like about traditional knives is that there is no pocket clip. I don't like having to fish around in my pocket for my knife.

I'm just not with you on this, Erica. First, the slipjoints aren't as safe. That's why Buck 110, for example, has a backlock. And the advancements in steel technology thanks to science have been massive. Traditional knives like Case knives are definitely different, but they are not better. The attraction to them is like romance. It's about feelings, not facts.
But keep on doing what you do. There are many branches in the knife community. As Nick would say, it's a beautiful thing!

I did get a gorgeous Boker Canvas Micarta Copper Barlow last week in O1 so I guess that makes me traditional eh?
I still think for testing Case to be fair you need a CS Blade in a Delrin Handle so you get the big Birds Eye Rivet on the pivot bc those little rivets on the bone handles will develop blade play while your GEC never will and you will conclude that Case Sucks

Yes, I’m traditional, but will run modern knife like my Spyderco and trading knife at the same time. Very common for me to run three knives at a time. Usually alternate my pocket and my traditional folding case knifes. Uncle Henry and a Buck stockman, old timer muskrat are just some of the pocket knifes I carry. I have a Old Timer trapper that is one of my very favorites, had given that knife to my father in law, after he passes I got it back. For a larger trade knife I like the lock blades . Their are many. But all these knifes are sought after knifes at flea markets. Back in the day for a lot of us outdoors people, before SAN we readily available we would have a traditional camp folder like a Boy Scout with the can opener etc and the military with the opener, awl etc., I still really like these. So typically I will edc a modern knife like my Spyderco and have a pocket knife like a stockman also. The best of both worlds cause I do daily task that would require a use for both of these knifes. When you see us cutting off a piece of apple with a pocket knife and eating it off the blade you know we are serious, lol. Really like this series of traditional knife but better than that you are very interesting most of all. By reading some of the comments looks like lot of us traditional dudes are enjoying you and your content. Keep on keeping it on.
