Man, glad I randomly clicked on this video because I have that Throne of Glass box set just sitting in the corner of my room unread & I am totally cool with selling it off and just buying the newer covers instead! I work at a used bookstore and run the Ebay listings there, great info, thank you!
Every time I see a what sold video featuring a Franklin Library book, I get a tightness in my gut. A few years ago I went to an estate sale that had a room full of pristine Franklin Library books (many or most were the signed editions). I think there were around 400 of them. It was getting towards the end of the sale, and I remember them being priced pretty aggressively individually, which is probably why they were all still there. So I asked the woman running the sale what she wanted for all of them. She called the owner, and ended up coming back to me with a very good price. I don't know what I was thinking, but I tried to haggle and get them for a few hundred dollars less, but she wouldn't budge. And of course I ended up losing them to a much smarter bookseller who had showed up after me and bought them at her asking price after I blew the deal. I had been selling books for about 15 years at that time, so I wasn't new to the game, but I learned a valuable lesson that day - don't take a chance at losing out on a deal like that over a few hundred dollars. I still kick myself every time I think about it.
Reminds me of a DVD haul I "almost" lost years ago. Saw a "last day clearance sale" media store. 1000s of disc items left. Most he wanted 50% off sticker.
I said $1 each item and you can close the doors forever. Haggle, haggle. Ended being ~$3 each for $16K. I paid him $1K to load his truck and deliver an hour east.
I got 4 more Warhammer books at Savers. When I was walking to my car some guy asked about them. Ended up selling them to him for $100 cash. I may have got $30+ on ebay. However, not having to take pictures, list & wait, store, package & ship, etc, etc is worth the potential loss.

I see a lot of religious books here in Texas, so I have been having some luck selling them. I'm trying to get smarter on Bibles since there seems to be 5 at every estate sale. Interestingly, I find that people buying religious books almost never take me up on "or best offer".
