To increase the "randomness" you could try to avoid placing one card after the other in a clockwise manner like you did in this video and instead place them chaotically/randomly onto the stacks. These dont have to be 7 stacks, depending on the amount of cards you have you can do with just 6 or increase it to 8 or 10. I ususally do an even number of piles because you can lay them down in 2 rows like you did.

To each his own. Once they are separated into different piles, you can scoop them up in any order you want to make it more random.

As far as I know this is the only decent way to shuffle cardboard tiles - overhand shuffling or wash shuffling seems to cause considerable wear to tiles compared to a pile shuffle + some cutting.

I agree. I remember being surprised at how many people I met outside Magic: the Gathering that had no idea pile shuffling existed.

I just looked up pile shuffling to find out how to shuffle without unintentionally cheating in MtG, so it's pretty funny to see you mention this. Appreciate the video!@@SeekOutandPlay

@@r12365 If memory serves, I made the video not too long after a player was caught cheating at a Star City Games tournament when he side-shuffled in a way that revealed his cards.
