I first heard this at my brother-in-law's wedding reception. There was a whole playlist of PMJ that played softly in the background while everyone ate, before the DJ kicked the dancing off. It gave the whole affair the feel of an upscale cocktail party, and I recognized the lyrics to All About That Bass and was like 'WTF?!" They sing songs that are real songs. I hope you have a lot of fun exploring these wonderful musicians. These people do REAL music. Enjoy yourself and take care. Love ya, Lynn
Loved your reaction. One of my favorites. I have been a fan of Haley's for nine years. Here is as simple one from before she was on Idol. Haley Reinhart "Like a Star" cover of Corinne Bailey Ray. You can count on one hand how many people have seen this video this year so consider it a rarity. Also enjoyable and different is Haley with Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. A different flavor would be Haley doing Joplin's White Rabbit.
I have watched several reviews of this Creep video from Postmodern Jukebox, and I don't get tired of it. Your reaction is like mine, I'm blown away by this girl voice. Now review some more Postmodern Jukebox, they have an amazing repertoire. Thumb up man!
Haley recorded a cover of the Elvis song "Can't Help Falling in Love" in 2016 and every day people - usually young women - post a a cover of her cover. Her version was recorded for an Extra gum advert and proved so popular it charted on adult contemporary radio. Extra removed the video for it when they began a new ad campaign, but Haley posted a new, though slightly different version of it on Valentine's Day. ua-cam.com/video/d924LLHxSqk/v-deo.html btw, if you've ever seen the Netflix animated series "F is for Family," Haley voices the red-headed son.
I love your take on this. I think everyone that reacts to this is amazed, but your facial expressions were exactly how I felt when I first saw this. I’ve probably watched the original 50 times and at least 25 reactions to it. It still hits me as an amazing performance by all.

That was one of the most right on the button reviews of both the song and the singer I've ever heard. There is something to say for maturity. You rock!
Her interpretation is brilliant. She brought a female perspective to it. She's a seductress, yes. But the seductress is a roll She's playing. When she hits the chorus, her pain shows through the seductress roll. Brilliant
Like most everyone else, when the song finished I was so stunned, mesmerized, jaw dropped, breath stopped and tears. Yes. And all I could say, all I could think was "Perfect". She reached inside me and I felt every note. I've listened to some beautiful music in my many years. I've never been so captivated, so struck with awe. That performance is truly a gift. And I'm so grateful to have found it. I first heard it 5 days ago. I've listened to it more than 25 times since. Crying each time. She's an Angel. The performance was "Perfect". Haley Reinhart is the best thing to ever come from American Idol. It was nearly 10 years ago, and how she is not a grammy winning artist by now, I just don't understand. When it comes to this style, there is nobody better. Postmodern Jukebox is definitely worth checking out. They have lots of great covers... so many unique takes on modern songs. The artists change all the time, so there's a lot of variety.
She is not a signed music artist. Hence, her music isn't played on the radio and she has no access to network TV. In other words, she is criminally underexposed. Haley needs to find someone professional to manage the business part of her career for her and to negotiate a record deal for her. Cause the last time she negotiated with the record labels, she became overwhelmed and stressed out and just said fuck it.
@@theblackdog2399 Some artists are perfectly happy being under exposed. It is possible that, to her, the perfect music career is one where she can make a decent living playing clubs and small shows... nobody pushing her to produce, nobody driving her style to be more marketable, able to walk down the street without getting swamped with fans. I don't know if she is staying "small" on purpose or not, but ....come to think of it, that does sound like the perfect music career. ;)
@@RustyShacklefordChannel Uhm... for years all Haley talked about during interviews was winning Grammy Awards, making it into the rock and roll hall of fame, appearing at music award shows, being on Saturday Night Live, being on late night TV and morning shows, being a judge on singing shows and building her parents a new home and financially taking care of them. However, all of that talk abruptly ended in 2016 after months of negotiating with all of the big major record labels when Haley just became utterly overwhelmed, overly frustrated, and very stressed out and then said fuck it. Hence, she immediately stopped pursing her dreams at that time. Haley's problem is she tries to do everything herself. However, that's a big mistake . As all the best music artists today have a professional business person that negotiates their record contracts for them and that run the day to day business end of their careers. While they focus entirely on the art end of the business. Haley needs to do the same thing. Find a professional business person who can accomplish the exact same thing for her. Not to mention, Haley is 29 years old. In only a few more years, she will inevitably slowly start to lose her looks and when that inevitably starts to happen, she is going to find it harder and harder to earn a decent living via being a music artists. Then as time goes on, she will inevitably have to eventually get a full time job like everyone else to make ends meet, and when that inevitability eventually happens, she will look back and reflect on her career and regret not making better decisions when she was younger. As Haley could easily become financially secure in only a short matter of time. That's how talented she is. Thus, I would hate to see her miss her opportunity.

@@theblackdog2399 That's a pretty grim outlook. Watch her live at the Naperville Rib Fest 2018. She sings this and slays it live. She is by far the most underrated vocalist out there. You will be blown away again. 💗 Blessings!
All of PMJ's stuff is great. They have several with Haley. Joey Cook is another great singer. She has a unique voice.
amazing preformance. thanks for reaction. i have watched / listened to this hundreds of times and want to listen 100 more times :)
Also Morgan James with Postmodern Jukebox singing Dream On and Take Me To Church.
Check Haley out with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. For PMJ check out "all about that bass" with Haley. Also love the PMJ videos with Morgan James (Maps, Dream on) and Hannah Gill (Crazy).
Her cover of Blackhole Sun with PMJ blows me away everytime.
You've said it, she's an angel!!!
@7:24...Thank you! I've watched like every reaction on youtube of this song. You are the first to mention how crazy long that note was...and then she ends it with a beautiful run and continues on like she didn't just hold a single note for like 15 seconds...remarkable.
Everyone of her songs has character and it's awesome. Wait until you hear some of her other songs. Honey, There's the Door and Deep Water. And now you are going to go look up all of her songs and binge watch them. Most people do this with her. She is an experience you have to sit back and just enjoy.
You should also check out Haley and PMJ's cover of "Black Hole Sun..." It's great!ua-cam.com/video/R6RD6mjiIZE/v-deo.html
Another great suggestion!
I just hear it...BEAUTIFUL.
(AND SHE IS GOOD LOOKING GAL TOO BOOT.)
The news gets better and better! Not only does Haley create magic with PMJ, but she also does her own covers and a few originals. She bills herself as a lo-fi soul and specializes in iconic songs you'll remember from decades long gone by, but kids today have never heard. Here are three of my favorites from the '60s:
"Baby It's You" (1961) by The Shirelles - ua-cam.com/video/9h96OXZjfCY/v-deo.html
"The Letter" (1967) by The Boxtops - ua-cam.com/video/WBwbXIL6gWw/v-deo.html
"You Showed Me" (1968) by The Turtles (audio track only) - ua-cam.com/video/cRADXg77d_4/v-deo.html
Then, there are her originals!
"Honey, There's The Door" (2019) - ua-cam.com/video/sADOjoNux9o/v-deo.html
"Deep Water" (2019) - ua-cam.com/video/wwlC5C8yjS8/v-deo.html
Now that you have heard the amazing Haley, you can check out Morgan James and Marc Broussard singing Do Right Woman and the Joe Bonamassa and Beth Hart singing I'd Rather Go Blind!
Her latest song is even more hypnotic
Congrats...you are a new Halien. She is a goddess.
PMJ is one a very limited number of favorite artists I have on Spotify in the car.
Creep is the one Spotify tends to play first when I select PMJ. It is one of my top favs, along with All about that Bass. :-)
Yeah, she's done a few songs in the same genre that was just mind blowing. I literally cry whenever I hear it.
The shock is.... you will never get the opportunity to listen to this for the first time again. Cheers.
Hailey Reinhart, Slash and Myles Kennedy performing Wild Horses cover....absolutely breathtaking performance!!
I sooo wish I could go back to not having heard this, just to experience it for the first time again.
PMJ with Morgan James doing Dream On is amazing as well.
I close my eyes and feel like I'm in an old "speak easy".
To think she finished 3rd on Idol.
I cried the first time I heard her sing this cover. The second time I cried to a PMJ cover was to a breathtaking rendition of Prince’s ‘Purple Rain’. Please listen to it.
PMJs cover of Blink 182s All The Small Things featuring Puddles Pity Party is just awesome.
This PMJ video just hit 100 million views - for good reason. Hope you review a few more of their covers with Haley Reinhart, and also with Morgan James.
Exactly. It's not often that an artist can hit whatever note, or sound, it is that makes the tears just well up all of a sudden. I wish I knew the science behind that. I SUPPOSE I could just google it...if I don't have to get up. I enjoyed your reaction 3 years later.
You nailed it when you said this was a masterpiece. It is.
Listening to her sing gives me goosebumps. I love her voice and the arrangement.
Yes that's my quote every time I hear Haley sing anything..."My God"
She's an Angel... That nets it out
This was recorded in one take!!!!!! She is the best vocalist of this century
The most honest reaction from a man’s perspective. Lol, I agree with everything you said. She is breathtaking in her approach to music. Stunning
I saw Postmodern Jukebox a couple of years ago, they do a really good and very different live show.
Haley, Ariana Savalas and Morgan James..."All about the base"..Superb..
Don’t forget that she has her own music!!
I absolutely love all recommendations below, but check out “I don’t know how to love you”!!!
It is one of the best modern pieces of music ever performed!!!
Really need to reimagine that era? I would love to go to a club, tables under fog lamps, sitting in the audience, listening to the entertainment like this.! Not a concert, not a bar with a band, but this in a sit down, listen to...
I loved your reaction! Like you, I was destroyed by the perfection. I may have to go to counseling to stop watching! Thx! You caught each and every subtlety of her amazing performance!
