hi.why do you need more speed?increase the speed, the thrust will decrease. on my 2*2 motorcycle, the maximum speed is 45 km per hour.in the mud or in the snow, you won't go at this speed)🤝
@@3dconceptsofutah757 do you think with the some mods to the 212 it could make it up to 45? I tinker with mini bikes all the time so I would imagine if it's doable on a Coleman it's doable on a rokon
The Rokon has a lot of drag with the front wheel drive mechanism so it would take a lot of power but maybe. The bike is also really unstable at about 35 so I don't know if you would want that@@tylersowell7460
Great idea and custom fabrication work! You could patent an entire engine swap setup for Rokons and sell them. I’m sure a lot of people who love these things would love to install all the components you put on your bike too! Great idea!

Awesome upgrade !! If I buy another one, I want you to do the emgine upgrade on it !! If I get another one it will be the, I believe the 1969-ish Rokon Trail Breaker . The big Yellow One .
@@MasterSumaiI live in Pa and just bought mine. I’ve be looking at them for 25 years, never thought I’d own one. I bought a 2018 that the man sold me for $2500! It looked pretty narly, but it was only dirt and grease, with weird home made rack on the back that I removed. Turns out after just cleaning it up? It’s like new, nubs still on the tires , it’s in mint condition, he said it had low miles. Trail Breaker hunter addition.
The OEM jetting in your Rokon may be set up for Sea Level. At that elevation in Utah (as you stated in reply in the comment section), I would guess your carburetor needed a change in jetting to compensate for the elevation of being around 1 mile high in altitude. This may also be the case with your swapped in engine too. Also, lube those front drive chains, that’s got to be a lot of friction at top speed.
Mine has the same Tillotson 212 electric start, but I took a different route for more speed. The Rokon DOT Ranger version has smaller(faster) wheel drive gears, I got them from Rokon but they are a common "industrial" type gear. To increase top end drive RPM I installed a larger Comet Series 40c Magnum clutch (209709a), and a (209133a) driven clutch. The 40c clutch has adjustable weights for tuning the response, a wider stronger belt, and with the 209133a 2nd clutch provides an even lower bottom ratio AND a considerably higher high-end ratio. Basically the clutch provides increased RPM for speed instead of spinning the engine faster. The engine: I wanted low RPM torque to preserve the Rokon's ultra slow crawl ability. Stock cam, add 2nd charging coil to double output, very minor porting to clean up/smooth, Tillotson TCT or TFB mechanical fuel injection carb(smooth running low end). I used a 1 1/8 (cheap "performance") exhaust pipe, but I might try the stock one (and tct carb) to see if it works better at lower RPM.
I live in Utah as well. Awesome work on that engine swap. I just bought an 86 Rokon that has a Predator 224 but the exhaust needs to redone. Let me know if you'd be interested in helping me with that.
I have seen mod kits for the Kohler engine: billet flywheels and cams. Remove the governor and if (I say if) it can rev to 5000 is should go close to 50mph. Can 3D concepts try this?
Thank you! So your's has a shifter now? I really think this should have just had a normal motorcycle engine to start with! Do you have a video? Cheers!
can you still throw it down into the river and float across to the other side and then ... will it restart ... thats what i would like to know , please ?
That is possible but it seemed to rev to it's limit. The way the throttle is connected with a little ferrule screwed into the cable is pretty sketchy for a production machine! Thanks for the comment!
For those talking about they thought rokons were faster than this? This is the off road edition. What he has basically done here is turned this into the on road version. The ranger. That one is set up to be faster. About 37 mph. And thats about as fast as you want to be on one.

makes me wonder about the new engine? Kohler is a reliable engine not much can kill them save for no engine oil... Wonder if the Kohler can be tweeked for an upgrade.
The rokon transmission has three gears. If you could only get it up to 20 miles an hour, you probably only had it in second dear. It's supposed to go up to 35
I rode it quite a bit to familiarize myself with it before the engine swap. Not to say there wasn't something wrong with it but it was definitely in third gear. There's no question about that. There may be some drag in the transmission that's limiting the top speed though.
If you have ever ridding a real bike and a rokon you probably know the chassis and lack of suspension and brakes and crazy torque steer are the first limitations Offroad. More power will just brake the little 1/4" roll pins that already brake stock.
Yes it is a way awkward machine and I made sure my client knew things might break with more power but he wanted to do it anyway ;-D It's not really a raging monster even with twice the power.
