Re: Feminist Lit, I would highly recommend Shulamith Firestone's, The Dialectic of Sex. The chapter entitled, Down On Childhood is especially enlightening, reminding us that women and children were considered 'property' not so long ago and that romantic love is a recent phenomenon. What is most essential about the text is the reminder that gender is constructed and while it is considered a radical text, she was one of the first. I’m a bit confused. Anyone please explain to me how women are paid less than men? Are these women doing the exact same job as men and still getting paid less. For example, two pilots do the same job but the man gets paid more than the women? Or are the pay differences due to men and women doing different jobs that require different levels of experience, education, etc?
