Welcome to the shop, today we will be building a modern baby gate. This was inspired by our Ultra Contemporary home. Please consider subscribing and follow us on Facebook.
Looks great but it can work as a ladder for little ones that start to walk. Mine (5) did it on the crib! But I guess that yo already learned it after these years.
thanks for the video. I made one of these and love it. I left one gap larger than others so our cat could walk through. we are using the gate to keep our puppy out of our kids room.
Good pattern design, I would add a extra timber baton to the wall where you have screwed directly in as iot offers more stability and does not rely on your screws falling out.
great work, can you tell me what size of wood screw did you use for binding 2x2s? the one that I tried was very prone to split the wood even though I pre-drilled the hole :(
Do you know why I am subscribing to your channel? because for normal people like me who are looking for something I need and find it for free on youtube made for people who want to do it, record it, edit it and upload it with the hope of receiving a good amount and acceptance like you, and me seeing that you only have 48 subscribers, I don't think it's fair. By the way to all this you uploaded this video exactly last year on my birthday hehe, that's why. Greetings!
Probably going to build something like this this weekend. Can I ask why you rip off the rounded edges of the 2x2? For aesthetics I assume? Or is there some other reason? Looks great, fun design.
Love the design and it will work great for a dog and baby. For a toddler they will be able to climb this far too easily. So for safety reasons I would be concerned to use this design. Great work though !
Thank you! I would agree with toddlers being able to climb this. Obviously I would recommend everyone evaluates their own situation to determine what is best for them.
Nice build! I think I might use this for my new pup. She's a bit of an escape artist, and the cheapo gates from walmart aren't cutting it.
That's What I used the gate for. Not really great for babies that climb but it works well for dogs.
So many little tricks here I wouldn't have thought to do, thank you!
Glad I could help. I have some wall art like these that will be coming up soon.
I appreciate the support.
Thanks for the video. Just finished building two. They look amazing
Glad to hear.

I only have dog, but yes I could see a little one trying to climb this. Good call out.

Sounds like a good modification, I'm glad that it worked for your needs.
Simple, beauty and useful project !
👏👏👏👏... !
Thank you very much!
This is awesome. Thanks for posting this!
Thanks for your support.
I love your tutorials and this design.
Thank you very much.

That's a great suggestion, Luckily I had a stud to go into and it keeps the lines of the wall clean.
Using this for the steps.
Yes maybe for babies is not the best practice.
Thanks
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for your support!
It's interesting that you didn't appear to use any glue on the joints.
Was there any reason for that decision?
Nice design and good video, thanks !
You can absolutely use glue on the joints.
The bby become toddler and will be climbing up that only good for a year if that but lovely job for pets
I agree. Maybe "baby" gate may be the incorrect wording. I do appreciate your support though.

They are a #8 screw 2 1/2" long. Make sure you get the small headed screws.

@@cedarriverwoodworking you welcome my friend.

I did it for the aesthetics, yes. The rounded sided don't make a nice looking joint, in my opinion.
Good luck with your build!

Buying 2x4's or 2x6's would probably save you a little $$$ and you'll have an easier time finding straight lumber.
Absolutely good options. I appreciate the input.
