    Very cool! I notice that you have only been making videos for a short while, but your quality of video making and expertise in jazz drumming paints a very clear picture! Thank you for sharing your helpful information. Very insightful! I know that if you continue to make videos, people will find you.

    I just got mine. 2280 grs. Amazing JAZZ/Bossa ride, and the bell is fantastic for latin stuff. I am so glad, so blessed. Hard to find it here, in Brazil, almost impossible. . I was really blessed. It is a bit hard to sell, here, but I dont care. I am 71 and this will I will keep till death or move to an apartment. Thank you so much for your insight and inspiration!

    Hey Zak. Thanks for making me aware of this wonderful cymbal! Just received mine today! Exquisite mallet rolls!!
    Not a bad note !

    Wow that's one very versatile cymbal. If you could only take one cymbal (plus hi hats) to a gig, that's the one. I've recently pulled the trigger on a full set of Agop Xists, which are excellent, but I now want a 22inch Jazz Ride Trad! Amazing crash sound on a cymbal of that size!

      And, yes, I bought one, and yes, it's all your fault. It was on offer, and so it was irresistible, it was only £295 and it's absolutely gorgeous, what a sound! I'm so glad I stumbled upon your review that day.

    Great review. I've got been using the 22" 30th Anniversary Ride as my main ride for more than 4 years. And definitely can hear similarities. It's one of those cymbals you have to learn how to play because it's more complex.

    • @thebetterdrummer
      @thebetterdrummer  Рік тому

      Agreed, it’s a great cymbal, and takes a bit to really learn how to use it to its full potential!

      what are the major differences between 30th and this one? does is make sense having both? I have the 30th

    A very good Review - you find good words for the sounds. I really prefer my spizzichinos and recently received some cymbals at the Bosphorus factory that may have potential, but I will definitely look into the Agop Traditionell after seeing this. Thanks

    Wonderful video and wonderful cymbal. I would love to see a demo of the 20" ride with 18" crash and 14" hi- hats - same model.

      Good idea... I don't think they made an 18" crash in that specific line, but I do have the 20" and 14" hats

    Own it and love it. Play it with my 21 SE jazz ride
    They work perfectly together. On my far right is a 20” 30th anniversary
    Adding the 20 and 21 to the mix takes care of the nuances one might not prefer with the 22

    Fabulous review.
    I understood everything you spoke about - tasting the overtones - yep I hear you on that.
    I recently bought a 1930’s Radio King set in awesome condition.
    26 kick is pristine.
    I have been considering a nice ride to compliment this kit and have my eye on a early 40’s Trans Stamp 22
    I have been sent a video of it and I’m hearing similar to the above.
    Obviously it may sound very different under my stick’s, in my hone studio.
    Keep the video’s coming please , they are class and most enjoyable.

  • @sober-southoftheborderever3591

    Nice demo. Great, great cymbal. Love it for jazz, prefer it to the K Cons (and I had many of thoses, medium, medium low and medium high). Any many others. But this is one of my favourites for jazz. It breathes jazz!

    I dig your videos. I have a 22" AGOP ride. thats all it says, but the writing and labelling is with green ink, not black. Do you know what that means or signifies? it sounds pretty similar

    Almost all my cymbals are the Jazz series cymbals from Meinl, yet I know and play zero jazz licks and could give even fewer jazz f**ks. They just mean thin and dark and I think that's perfect for not-jazz too.

    • @thebetterdrummer
      @thebetterdrummer  2 роки тому

      Lol, yeah I use this cymbal on pop and funk gigs literally all the time! (And on jazz and big band gigs as well)

    I have one and put a 15cm strip of masking tape on the underside and it calms it just enough

    Not to be all about the weight, but what does yours weigh? The Trad Jazz 22s all seem to be in the 2300g range. I had a whole set of the Trad Jazzes, but I couldn't bond with the 20. It had a zingy ring from the bell that I didn't like. The 22 is my favorite of the bunch, though it does have limitations for some gigs. Your point about a limited dynamic range is exactly my experience.
    Nice playing and great videos. I've been enjoying them.

    • @thebetterdrummer
      @thebetterdrummer  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks so much! I’m not sure what it weighs, probably around that 2200/2300 range… I agree, I think the 20” is a little too thin/light…

    Istanbul agop makes always ok cymbals. not the best ive heard but also not the worst but they cant compete against chinese cymbals like dream,fans,wuhan or haiping but i like the sound those cymbals produce. Especialky 30th anni is goid

      Wow. Man, you cant compare Istambuls, especially this series with ANY Chinese cymbal. It compares to K Cons Medium Thin 22. Still this Istambul is darker and jazzier. And I have and had many cymbals in my 71 years of existence and playing jazz, bossa-nova, classic rock, blues. I lived in the USA for 24 years, legally. I am addicted to GAS, and spend ''all'' my money in cymbals. Cheers from Brazil!
