this sounds so good live
This is hands down my fave track on the new album. I have been a fan since 2006. Anyone remember Goat Explosion? Short but oh so sweet. The Drums encapsulate for me what has been missing. Something fresh and vivid. I can't quite put my finger on it but I feel like I am in an other worldly place when I hear their music. I have seen them live twice and cannot wait for the third time!!!
this is a great song to cruise on a longboard to
sin palabras para describir la sintaxis de mi cuerpo cuando escucho a THE DRUMS...
los vere en el CORONA CAPITAL...
Visiomento was life
SIN DUDA QUE MI BANDA FAVORITA HAGA ESTE TIPO DE VIDEOS AL.ESTILO DE LOS 60'S NO TIENE PRECIO.....fui a verlos al corona capital y ...
@drbas81 the Drums is my favourite band, and this is my favourite song
@JPJPJPJAMESJPJPJP The whole live performance has got better! the guitars sound so much better with a bit of overdrive on them. This is by far the best lineup for the band! Can't wait to see them next week! :D
the bass line is beautiful!
I love Tuesdays
My favorite one off the new album so far! Wonderful!
best song in the world
ty nick
Something familiar, yes. Something beautiful, yes
@shawniemar i'm a huge fan of ACR, vini reilly and section 25. your taste is impeccible.
@ExtradensicMusic you mentioned five of my top bands lol. i love the drums also !
HIs voice has got a lot better!! :)
Reminds me of the whole 2000-2006 post punk revival sound, notably Bloc Party
wow
tear
Joy Divison + The Smiths = The Drums, its easy
@shawniemar the wake are the drums favourite band. they even interviewed them on this channel. early wake stuff is post-punk akin to early new order/late joy division. mid-eighties stuff is less raw with more synth but still amazing, late-eighties stuff is twee pop/indie pop when they signed to sarah records. i implore you to listen chronologically, and start off by listening to the song "on our honeymoon". it would be amazing to have some more fans of the wake :)
You forgot The Ocean Blue.. and the Beach Boys!!... but its true what you say..I LOVEthe DRUMS.. and all those GREAT BANDS too!! Especially Joy Division/New Order!!
@jweightmanmusic cool hair bro
@shawniemar your friends with the feelies? christ, i've only just got intto them but they're amazing. i only have on eyeless in gaza song on my ipod. i'll definitely look them up. i'm only 20 now and cool older people get jealous that i have more music knowledge than them haha
@ChevyDerald that would've been November of 09, not early 09
@blowhornjoe fuck yeah, that's amazing¬.¬
i got personally invited to thier last texas show by johnny pierce himself and myles
@UltimateVenom Yes, I understand that - my daughter is 13 and has much more advanced tastes than her friends, who are into the mainstream crap--ugh. She likes the Drums too. Got her into Guided By Voices early on & I remember asking her, when she was little, what lullaby she wanted me to sing. She said Hot Freaks by GBV. Dave Weckerman from the Feelies was my boyfriend back in 1988/89 & he's still a best friend. Def listen to more Eyeless in Gaza. Wonderful stuff.
lol deep comments
go look up Elkland, the band johnny was in before this. my god... so fucking different
@matteolazazzera you have not heard much music yet, right? :D
@JPJPJPJAMESJPJPJP Much much better! I'm glad for that!
Damn it dude, couldnt be more agree with you, what kind of witchcraft did u use
that on the left play the bass? right?
@UltimateVenom This the second part of the first message:
As far as the 80's - I was in my 20's then and heavily into the above-mentioned bands and the whole jingly-jangly guitar thing like R.E.M. (up to Life's Rich Pageant), The Feelies (I'm friends with them), and then I was swept away by New Zealand's Flying Nun label. Incredible stuff! But one of my favorite bands then was Eyeless in Gaza. Do you know of them? Listen to Faceless and Veil Like Calm. Phenomenal!
sounds like echo and the bunnymen
i dont see Joy Division in them i really dont lol
@UltimateVenom I agree with Orange Juice and Josef K. I don't know the Wake. Thanks for the lead.
@UltimateVenom Wow! I'm pretty lame because I am a fan of many of the bands who started with Factory (or stayed with Factory), of course the obvious ones like Joy Division & New Order, but also The Railway Children, Kevin Hewick, A Certain Ratio, Section 25, Durutti Column, OMD, Stockholm Monsters, and I'm sure I'm leaving some off. I guess the Wake just passed me by. I'm like what I hear.
War Nick Diaz
Connor just can't play guitar. This song is great in studio, but...They need Adam back!
joy division+david bowie.. anything new? ...no
I'll never get the first comment :(
@matteolazazzera ok... no problem with that.. but for sure, not the best song ever ;)
