What's up Bloom?! In today's video, I'm sharing what I learned after a month of adding color to my fine natural hair! Check out the full video to hear my thoughts on the journey so far 🧡
I bleached my hair just over 5 weeks ago. It's not all of my hair it's highlights done by my professional stylist at Aveda. My hair is ultra-fine, ultra-dry , naturally high porosity, high density and type 4c pen-spring coils. Literally watching this while deep conditioning with moisture and Olaplex. I never bleached my hair before. Yeah it's a big change for me....I can't stop looking at it...and touching it...Lol! Honestly, I haven't noticed any major difference....not enough to trigger a crisis....some breakage but my stylist told me to use Olaplex 3 every week which I wasn't doing. Because my hair is naturally high porosity I'm used to throwing a ton of moisture at it, I do the same thing with my bleached highlights. Not change in dryness for me...if anything I never let my hair dry out. Lol! it's moisturized twice some times 3 times a day. I use the As I am castor water to give it a light spritz 3 times a day if it needs it. I use a spray leave in the morning and I use a cream leave-in conditioner at night. I also only wear my hair out 3 days a week. the rest of the time I either put it in twists, finger coils or 2 or 3 french braids. I do not often use styling products because they dry out my hair. I style with the leave-in conditioner. These are tips from my trichologists about my dry hair not something I discovered on my own. I also steam my leave-in conditioner in about 3 times a week. My trichologists would like me to do it every day but I'm lazy. 😅 I cut and coloured my hair so I could fall back in love with it.
Hey, from a high perisity gal, you will have to get used to your hair will hold moisture for a max if 4-5 days. 2 things to really monitor is be mindful of how often to wash your hair and make sure you use DCs with protein regularly even each wash day especially as it gets older. Enjoying your journey. Thanks for shating
I have naturally high porosity hair. Adding vegetable glycerin is a game changer for retaining moisture with high porosity strands. Aloe Vera closes pours as well. And maybe add cassia for hair strength, since henna might not be an option for you with the new color.
BEAUTIFUL COLOR!!! I COLOR MY HAIR LAST YEAR, BLOND AT HOME SELF BOX COLOR AND IT CAME OUT. IT KELP SHEDDING SO I PUT A BLACK COLOR ON IT. IT STOP SHEDDING AS MUCH, BUT START BREAKING OFF STRAIGHT DOWN THE MIDDLE IN THE BACK. LORD HELP ME...PRAY FOR ME 🙏
Thank you so much Dorothy! I’m glad the shedding has decreased and pray that your hair grows back strong and healthy 🙏🏾 Have you considered getting a really good trim to help with the breakage?

Thanks for the suggestions 🤗
You need Hawaiian Silky Miracle Worker 14n1....that moisturizer is amazing. I use the entire line.
Ooo thanks for the suggestion 🙌🏾
