This performance was at his concert, and he was having a little fun and creating some anticipation with the crowd. He knew the crowd was waiting for the big finish, so he pretended to end with just the spoken words "any more", and then said he was just kidding and then hit them with what they were waiting for.

I sometimes wonder if he even realises that he's better than others. I don't think he looks sideways much, only inwards. I agree on the backup singers. Here he didn't have his own crew yet. Since then he's had the same backups, who are all solo artists in their fields (one changed last year. Pretty much the same band too. People seem to enjoy working with him

Personally, I hope after finding his niche, he doesn't give up altogether his other genres, opera, pop, folk, etc. because I love the pieces he sings, even though I don't understand his mother tongue or mandarin it is because he brings so much emotion into his songs by his voice control and choice pieces. I thought like you when I first got to know Dimash. He is so young. Certainly he can not jet have found his thing in music. He is all over the place. Certainly he is still searching. Personally, I don't think it's because he is looking for a certain style he is comfortable with, but because he enjoys doing all of them and doesn't feel he has to choose.

From my point of view, I cannot make a top ranking of Dimash's songs, the original ones, regardless of the composer (Igor, Dimash or someone else), leaving aside the covers. I come back to the idea, so I can't make a top. Why? Simple: each song by Dimash has a different theme, a different melodic line, different feelings, different tonalities. Each track is unique in lyric, interpretation, musical essence and message. If you listen to one, you like it more, if you listen to another, you like it even more, you can't decide because you can't. There are pieces with a religious touch, patriotic pieces, pieces of love, pieces of courage etc. If in an interview Dimash was asked what song he likes, I don't know what answer he would give... Almost all of them are masterpieces. It is as if Dimash is a father of dozens of children. I don't think he could tell a difference between them. Each piece has its place in time and space, it is appropriate in a certain context, event. Each song takes you on a certain journey, be it magical, be it angelic, be it love or be it a story, either sad, or happy, or fighting, or patriotic. We have to be consistent and say that all the pieces are exceptional, not one can be compared to another, because a parent loves all his children the same!!! Dimash is a miracle, so his absolute powerful and unshakable presence on stage, compared by some to a god of music, sometimes to a prince or king, the energy he absorbs from the Universe, then how he anchors himself to the Earth, his connection with the Divinity, all at a place, it gives him the strength and confidence to "command the audience, to order the orchestra, to order the song", so that everything comes out the way he wants and how Dimash feels, that is unique. All these qualities are only at Dimash, absolutely. The goosebumps and hypnosis induced by Dimash are the characteristics of his concerts and appearance on stage, which are shaped by his endless beauty, sometimes translucent, sometimes sensual, sometimes angelic !!! Dimash is storm, thunder, lightning, sun, rain, smile, but also love and last but not least he is our hope and our daily light, he is our spiritual food when you put your head on the pillow and start dreaming like tomorrow it's a day… !!!!! This is a bit different, but it'd be cool if you checked out "The Ultimate Dimash Guide" by LiLaSi, there you'll learn a lot about him as a person and how he got this far, but at the same time also help us non-musicians understand what's being discussed a bit more(since a lot of it is ofc about music in some way). @@joankelly5625 He has been doing mostly crossover, jazz, blues and pop lately. He told us in the fan meeting in Armenia that his new album will have all these styles. Personally, I don't think it's because he is looking for a certain style he is comfortable with, but because he enjoys doing all of them and doesn't feel he has to choose.

From my point of view, I cannot make a top ranking of Dimash's songs, the original ones, regardless of the composer (Igor, Dimash or someone else), leaving aside the covers. I come back to the idea, so I can't make a top. Why? Simple: each song by Dimash has a different theme, a different melodic line, different feelings, different tonalities. Each track is unique in lyric, interpretation, musical essence and message. If you listen to one, you like it more, if you listen to another, you like it even more, you can't decide because you can't. There are pieces with a religious touch, patriotic pieces, pieces of love, pieces of courage etc. If in an interview Dimash was asked what song he likes, I don't know what answer he would give... Almost all of them are masterpieces. It is as if Dimash is a father of dozens of children. I don't think he could tell a difference between them. Each piece has its place in time and space, it is appropriate in a certain context, event. Each song takes you on a certain journey, be it magical, be it angelic, be it love or be it a story, either sad, or happy, or fighting, or patriotic. We have to be consistent and say that all the pieces are exceptional, not one can be compared to another, because a parent loves all his children the same!!! Dimash is a miracle, so his absolute powerful and unshakable presence on stage, compared by some to a god of music, sometimes to a prince or king, the energy he absorbs from the Universe, then how he anchors himself to the Earth, his connection with the Divinity, all at a place, it gives him the strength and confidence to "command the audience, to order the orchestra, to order the song", so that everything comes out the way he wants and how Dimash feels, that is unique. All these qualities are only at Dimash, absolutely. The goosebumps and hypnosis induced by Dimash are the characteristics of his concerts and appearance on stage, which are shaped by his endless beauty, sometimes translucent, sometimes sensual, sometimes angelic !!! Dimash is storm, thunder, lightning, sun, rain, smile, but also love and last but not least he is our hope and our daily light, he is our spiritual food when you put your head on the pillow and start dreaming like tomorrow it's a day… !!!!! Dimash has God's kiss on his heart!!!! Dimash's cerebral hemisphere are like the mathematics of song. The precision, the climax of the pieces, the breath control, all are mathematical. Nothing higher, nothing lower. Absolute accuracy !!! Not to mention, he has the number of destiny 7, the number of God. One more proof that Dimash is sent by God in the art of love through song!!!

I think you should watch videos from him even before 2017 or even the Bastau 2017 (the same you have reacted now), and watch how good he was with arrangements at that time (listen to Diva Dance there or bettter the whole concert, it is worth every penny. Dimash is a Music Genious besides the indredible singer and performer he is. All he does over a Stage has a meaning and he´s an incredible actor too.
You have lot to see yet. an in my opinion, maybe for luck of time, you "spoiled" (sorry for the term) your first reaction to "The Story of one Sky" (for me if not the best, this Masterpiece is one of the greatest videoclips of music History, and of course of this millenium, on these days when anybody who doesn´t know how to sing can win a Grammy 🤮), and didn´t give the credits it deserves.
Watch please some Dimash videos playing the piano (6-7-8 more instruments), composing for that song or other compositions and then you´ll have an idea of how great a musitian he´s and was before 2017 (when he already had composed "Unfforgetable day")

This is a bit different, but it'd be cool if you checked out "The Ultimate Dimash Guide" by LiLaSi,
there you'll learn a lot about him as a person and how he got this far, but at the same time also
help us non-musicians understand what's being discussed a bit more(since a lot of it is ofc about music in some way).
It's split into 12 parts(around 10 min each, though it varies a bit depending on topic), and is very well made and easy to follow.
What I think makes it the most valuable though is that it allows Dimash to speak for himself by compiling relevant clips and interviews,
so you get to hear his thoughts first hand and come to your own conclusions.
