Thank you. Do you have data on what founders pay themselves based on revenue?
    Pre-revenue vs. rev generating,
    EBITA positive vs. not etc

Hi, Steven. Check out the full founder salary report from Pilot: pilot.com/report/founder-salary-2024. They may have some of this data.

TBH, data sources have come and gone over the years (tldr- the min depending on base- so obv SF is 100k+ to cover rent vs remote from Bali is 40k...). Asking about pre and post rev is not the right qu. You pay yourself basically nada pre-rev if you are pre-funded (obv, diff if $ making bootstrapped). Post funding you need to internalise that as a majority equity founder, the 'salary' is coming from equity (which is f'd on a CoE basis...)- so you really want to 'pay' yourself just enough to be able to focus on execution and min the next 20% dilution stick you get hit with as long as poss till your val raises (so long as you are default dead). Qu about salary is "good times" qu - and if you are in the good times you can do a secondary to buy a house etc... this is quick flippant answer and haven't covered why getting paid f-all helps with salary negotiations!
