Lies of P - Let's Play - Part 3 | Meeting Hotel Krat's Residents!

- Thank you Neowiz and ICO Partners for the advanced copy of Lies of P!
Lies of P answers the oft asked question: "What if you mixed the DNA of Bloodborne and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and sprinkled in some folklore about a wooden puppet who wants to become a real boy and every time he lies his nose grows?"
I am sold on this Pinocchio soulslike and I hope this video and the accompanying series does the same for you!

Hey Blue, the reason you cant lvl up at the stargazer, is that she only borrowed the stargazer some of her power, to do that for you early on. I tried to grind some levels and after maybe 10 level ups (dont know the exact amount it stopped) at the stargazer i couldnt lvl up anymore until i met Sophia at Hotel Krat. Love your videos and thank you for the amazing adventure i had with you in your Dark Souls 2 Sotfs everything possible. Was playing with you on the side, it was so nice. Wish you all the best in the future.
I really appreciate the on-the-nose literal use of grinding to increase your combat efficacy in this game. It just makes me smile.
I also love that you found a hedgehog in the wild here in this episode, as it were! What a coincidence!
i like that you used the phrase "on the nose" regarding something in a game based on the story of Pinocchio lol
@@sethescope I was just going to say literal but I had to take the opportunity 😝
Eagerly waiting when you get past the demo part. This game looks awesome.
It takes a bit because the demo was huge! I think I wrap up the demo content at Part 7!
@@BlueLizardJello thanks for that info. Love the videos, I hope there is some cool lore deep in the game.
2:37 sounds like Greirat of the Undead Settlement (DS3)....very interesting, could be the same voice actor.
Also, Venigni sounds very like Benigni, that is, Roberto Benigni, who was the actor who played Pinocchio in the 2002 movie. Coincidence? I think not!
I don't see Greirat's voice actor credited with Lies of P but it does sound similar!
This game looks GREAT!
I am enjoying it immensely.
@5:24 I'm playing on Xbox and the book was there for me...
Also @12:20 there's a cat sat there that doesn't like me. It's weird that it's different and I've not done anything you haven't
The cat moves around, but he's always somewhere in the hotel. The book showed up at some point for me, but I'm not sure what triggered it.
The biggest mystery in game.... Why is Polendina not on the fritz?
A fair question!
My take is that it was the more industrious, "working class" puppets that succumbed to the Puppet Frenzy. Time and time again in this game you'll see puppets wielding pitchforks, pipes, shovels, etc. and attacking you. But the posh, elegant puppets have been well-kept and maintained in order to avoid the frenzy fate.
Bit of a socioeconomic, class-specific frenzy?
With the puppet servant uprising this is basically the plot of the movie I, Robot?
I wonder where they got the name 'Krat' from. Is there something in the original Pinocchio novel with a similar name?
By the way yes I remember Henry pumping his arms to reload a new punch in Mission Impossible lol. His punches in that movie landed harder than the ones he did as Superman!
edit: Ohh maybe 'Krat' comes from 'Aristocrat'
Ohh excited for this
the game will tell you if the weight is heavy under the weight icon :)
Like you, Blue, I play these games as much for story/lore as combat. Context matters!
However... I do think this episode leaned a teeeeeeny-tiny bit too much in the direction of "Let's *Not* Play", with about 18mins in the lobby! 😜
This will be great for those who don't have the game yet, but mayhaps a little bit less so for those like me who're already in the mix.
At the same time, I can't see that you had any other option in this regard - this is all 100% more of an observation than a barbed critique 🙏
As someone once said, you'll never please all the people all the time: for me here, the good news is that I don't think there are many (if any) more contiguous large chunks of "downtime" in the game.
Looking forward to many more episodes of Blue-nocchio Krushes Krat! 😁
I agree on all accounts! It's not super entertaining, but it was also somewhat a necessary evil?
@@BlueLizardJello indeed!
And you know, in the end?: those who share this view are just saying they wanted more - so in the final reckoning it's not a bad thing.
(Btw, I think you *might* have meant
on all *counts*
?
As a much-learned & curious mind, I thought you might be interested:
I learned recently this is a phenomenon, yet forgot its name 😁: we perhaps mis-hear a figure of speech, then go on to repeat it until it gains its own life, but this new expression becomes orphaned from its origins in the process.
"On all counts" comes from the judicial setting, where each count is an instance of a charge).
@@geroffmilan3328 what did I say, "on all counts?"
If so, thanks for clarifying! I actually really do love being corrected on matters like this, especially with background info!
I just realized that it was in my response...I thought you were commenting on something I said in the video.
I'm tired.
@@BlueLizardJello 😂 happens to us all, good sir!
Nothing to worry about 👍 your attention is necessarily split across multiple facets of life, and I for one hold no grudges - especially over honest mistakes quickly identified & corrected.

You, my friend, are first!
@@BlueLizardJello heck yeah! Love the videos btw!
Man you are auditing the game not playing it.
When you play, do you not interact with all the characters? Get involved with the story?
That's half of my reason to play. It would be very out of character for me not to.
Lol
