She became an even bigger star. And then Jeanette’s mom died and she wasn’t given time to heal and that was basically when the show actually began to fall apart. Which led to all of the drama and eventual cancellation. I hope that answers basically what happened.

That shows that they are just human beings, who made mistakes. On stage or on video clips they seems to be perfect. Such mistakes just make them sympathetic and make us laugh.
Ariana and Jennette are the ones who decided they didn't wanna sing on the show and keep it all about the comedy. I guess if the actors decide they don't wanna sing their not gonna force them, like how Avan's character beck didn't sing cuz he didn't wanna.
