I’ve never seen a more accurate representation of what dates think about race cars
Sadly yes. I think it is very rude. I mean if a girl I was dating had a horse for example, I wouldnt be like: "Ewwww they shit while you´re riding" or something like that. Appreciate the hobbies of your date more!
Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
*engine brakes to full stops everywhere to not make noise*
Try dating with a motorcycle as a daily (I also have a speed3 but boy I love being on 2 wheels). U pull up with a helmet attached to ur sissy bar and she just goes "uhh...excuse me..?" Happened twice
Safe to say I only ride by myself now and only take my hatch on dates
I hate that this is true hahahaha
Ah yes, the inevitable track car first date situation.

At least he has AC. I didn't and the sunroof didn't help. At all.

Those blissful clips of ben doing happy lil evo things in his happy lil evo made my day.
When you finally get those mods dialed in and everything works.
Ben and Alyssa are some of the best UA-cam actors I’ve ever seen
Right?
"Is your car broken?" I felt that lol 😆
It hurts more when it actually is, and you can't afford a repair
@@nisse7292 😭😭
me: "no"
reality: it is broken
“Is your car broken?”
“......no it just doesn’t work” 😬
I have a 440whp RS3 and it feels drives and sounds like a completely stock car. It still baffles my mind this witchcraft is even possible.
At 19:36......Ben just used the classic pickup line, "Have you ever felt 400 hp?" My man Ben!
Needed that Bride seat for the date, Ben. That would have sealed the deal, for sure 👌
I love speed academy!
Yo who came up with that little date scenario? That was GOLD! 😂💯
I think its an homage to the Street Class rules of your car needs to be a date car, so they've probably been planning that bit for a while. twas good and pretty dead on
I think it's either ben or ben
“It’s got track pads.”
Should make it into a bumper sticker. I bet the sales would be nice.
"Why does your car has a fire extinguisher?"
Because Racecar
@@misfit7756 they are not
@@alexstromberg7696 In Belgium you have to got one in the car.
@@MrPyroBomb In Sweden it's not needed.
Just as a trivia, in Brazil until October/2015 fire extinguishers in cars were obliged by law.
Would come from factory and be checked for expiration date.
Now they're optional.

I remember about a year ago I went out with this girl for first time in my modded srt4 neon, I got on the loud peddle (very slightly) and she said “ is your car broken or something) because of all the turbo noises she never heard before she thought the car was broken... safe to say that was the ONLY date we had lol
That happened with my dad lol. Took him to a doctors appointment in my Evo and thought my car was broken because of all the noises it makes😂

U need a drive. Spent too much time with Jill
The "have you ever felt 400hp?" was great
“Does it sound like this all the time” is the best one I’ve gotten so far lol
The date scene is classic. I have heard most of the same comments from my gf when she’s in my 68 Mustang.

Takes a married girl out on a date. Didn't know you rolled that way Ben, LOL. Great video as always, making my Saturday mornings more enjoyable
I noticed that ring too. LOL
I plan on working towards my goal of owning a Mitsubishi Evo II one day :)
Those look sick
Nice man. Me, I'm still looking at an Evo 8/9 as my 1st car actually lol. Hopefully the imported ones or just Evos in good condition don't get sold too quick! Here in Canada at least.
Don't think there's a big market for them here, at least I think so..
The relationship of this two is one of the best in youtube. Ben and Ben ftw
noice!
Love seeing Ben being happy that his Evo finally runs. It brings pure joy reviving back a car that you had for so long. A car that started the road trip series
Note to future self: never bring an evo on a first date😂😂😂
I think a non-gutted Evo would actually be alright on a date
Instead you should you bring a gutted k-swapped civic
Idk man, it looked like she kinda enjoyed it at 19:35 lol
*gutted Evo
Evo 9 wagon for date how bout that?
The date section got me so good. That’s brilliant 🤣
She don’t get it, bro. She’s not the one lol.

Good to see the Evo after a while

You guys have unintentionally become my equivalent to Saturday morning cartoons while I eat breakfast. I always look forward to your videos. Thanks!
Hahaha! 100% accurate!
Awesome to see your evo back up and running. Last spring I spun a rod bearing on my evo 8 and just got her all rebuilt and running about two months ago. Went with the Moroso baffled pan and was lucky enough to find a straight cut gear for the oil pump. Look forward to watching your guys videos every Saturday
Date skit was great 🤣
damn that straight cut gear sounds good😯
That cut scene with the date.. get an O2 dump and that will really impress her. #NailedIt
Let’s go!!! We love this build!! 🛠🙏
That smile on your face is everything of how much loved you have in that EVO.
racecar owners: I think my date is scared of my car and they don't wanna go out with me if I bring it!
motorcycle owners: first time?
Right! Lmao
We need more uploads a week, I’m dying. Favorite automotive channel on UA-cam!
Sounds like you need an AOS that returns to the sump.
What's aos?
@@supernice_auto air-oil separator
@@mwjscn gotcha and agreed- on a track focused car like this recirculating is the way to go otherwise you deal w/ what was shown in this video lol
I have neither a race car nor a date so I'll take your word for it 😭
mannnn i need that 240sx part 2 video!!!
Your catch can problem can be resolved in different ways. It is mainly due to your tight piston ring clearance (check with your engine builder).
1) Run bigger AN lines.. Maybe -8 or -10.
2) Run a vacuum line back into the intake from the catch can to help suck some pressure back.
3) Run a vented dip stick or vented oil cap
Very good update. As for the catch can bin it off and have a proper breather made up. It wants to be mounted at least the same height as the Cam cover. Use the standard breather outlets on the engine. Return to the sump below oil level, and a correctly sized vent to Atmosphere.
Ben, can we have an RX-7 update soon?
Fantastic vid mate, not sure about mounting the catch-can below the oil level in the engine. Personally think that will naturally cause it to fill. perhaps mount it in the engine bay so it provides a second route when pressure builds? great power too mate enjoy!
Yo those “break in” miles had to have seem like years of agony till that beast can rip! Lol
The dude doing the bicep curls with the roll cage always cracks me up.
The amount of time you guys put into your videos is amazing. I love this!! Props on another awesome video guys.
The date struggle is REAL 😂👌🏼
When you're pushing that much oil, it helps just to recirculate it back into the engine. You can tap into the turbos oil drain line and it'll go back into the pan. Then just keep up with your oil changes and you won't have any issues.
The Mazdaspeed Miata's OEM catch can has a drain to the sump that suffers from blowback, but also never needs emptying. An aftermarket option installs an all-metal PCV (check valve) in the drain line so oil can drain from the catch can and high G turns don't force oil up the drain. Sounds like you need a similar setup. Breathers on MAF cars also let in unmetered air and will ruin your tune so a sealed PCV system is key. You might also consider a higher flowing replacement PCV to accommodate for the increased crankcase pressure and volume of blow-by.
Keeping a pcv valve (OEM only), and a sealed catch can setup is the move for a 4g
(Tracking my EVO since new)
The best EVO video vlog/series out atm!!! Netflix where ya at????

The happy music when he left RS was perfect. Keep the vids coming guys, this is easily one of my fav YT channels!
Loved this vid. Great power and love the lady bit so true with no back seats etc and brake noise.
That date scene brought me back to driving dates home in my straight piped EM1 Civic back in high school. Good times...
So good to see Ben and Ben out on track happy together again! Well done guys!
Thank you so much guys! I really appreciate the effort you put in this videos! Ben you are a very good actor!
At 12:16.....sounds like my local mechanic who works on my car :)
I love EVERYTHING about this. What a cheerful group of chaps.
This was brilliant. Great work on the Evo, hope I get to see it in person out on the track this year!
10:44 i had the same issue with my car. a plastic mixed nuts jar and rubber tubing fixed the problem pretty well
Best part of my week seeing the videos on the evo 9 and the civic
Bro the cinematography on these is amazing. So much better than watching cocky dudes filming themselves all day long for attention. I love the documentary style of these and the inclusion of the shop guys as well as how much we have all learned about your evo along the way
On my first date in the NC Miata, we went up to Mount Rainier and then ran the whole road back down with the engine off. He (yes, he) was scrolling TikTok or something and looked up just as we were entering a 180-degree corner at 50, with the most spectacular cliff you've ever seen looming on the ither sude if the guard rail. The Miata (with the power steering off, mind you) ripped the inside of the turn like a slot car. He looked over and said (roughly), "Okay, THAT was impressive." Later that night, we ran the Klickitat touge at medium pace with eurobeat on the stereo. Double-laning, dipping the lights to check for oncoming, the whole bit. We've been dating for a couple months now. 😁
Girls are nice, but there are advantages to getting you a boy.
The date skit was spot on. Been there with rally pads and a racing LSD which would pop and bang when cold or at low speeds. "Is your car broken?" hahaha
Insted of running a catch can, run a resirculating system but a bigger can, to overcome the rapid fill up of the catch can by having the oil go back to the sump, like the turbo drain
I'm having my first track day at NCM on may 9th. Am excited.
When you weld a harness bar into your half cage, weld a diagonal into the main hoop as well. It's good practice to have.
I still can’t believe this channel doesn’t have 1M+ subs... I love the content, cheers G&G!
so glad to see this thing back in action. Definitly gonna see a video on why all track day/car enthusiasts need a tow pig
If you don't already have one, a Kiggly Racing HLA regulator will help keep oil in the pan instead of the can. I never put oil in the can on my DSM making 800+ on 40+psi and 9500+ rpm, and I attribute that to that regulator!
I can’t imagine how stoked Big Ben (lol) will be when when all those oil problems are resolved and the car runs perfectly. Can’t wait to see the build come together
Another great video guys, can't wait to see how your season of racing goes! You two have come a long long way!
From now on im not gonna skip the ads, thanks you guys for really good good content
Catch can is way to low in the system. Mount it higher up it’ll help
On the accusump you need a check valve so it only goes straight to the engine/filter area so it doesn’t go where it isn’t supposed to go.
you need a bigger catch can with -10 fittings. built motor, more blow by. i run 3 -10 fittings on my built motor. 2 from the valve cover and one from the balance shaft inspection port on the block itself. MAP also sells a vented dipstick
Very much love with the build!!
Great video and nice evo!
Love the video's you guys post. The stories are well told. Well produced. And just awesome.
Keep up this kind of work!
At 6:13......in the voice of Denzel Washington, "My man Ben. I see ya!"
5:50 - 7:43 = Best representation of the hardships of daily driving your track car. 😂
''Is your car broken ? '' hahaha i really died with that one ... but she actually enjoyed the pull on the 400whp car :D
I'm so stoked for you guys, this year is gonna be lit! Track car baby!
Also my thoughts on EVO catch can, could it be gathering too much oil because it is mounted so low in reference to the engine and its natural oil level maybe?
Love the videos guys. Have you thought about venting the block? I wonder if you need larger breather lines and the can to be up high so it's more air and less fluid going out. Just trying to be helpful. Good luck!
Hey man :) You should get a bigger catch can and have it drain back to the sump. You won’t need to stop nearly as much to refill oil.
Also, I know it’s more money but a new ECU will give you so much more confidence if it can shut the engine down if it sees low oil pressure etc. Could save you another engine rebuild.
Love these car guys who know so much shit about an individual model and engine.
The PCV port on the rear of the VC is not baffled. Seems kinda common for people to start having this issue. Longitudinal force from accel + unbaffled port + the 4g63s nature of pumping a ton of oil into the head faster than it can drain back into the sump = this problem. Dry sump FTW or change the vent location/baffling on the VC.
Ben, might be worthwhile to do a drain back on the catch can, just make sure you put a one way valve in the return line.
Bro thanks for this video im getting pumped on finishing my lancer cedia gt
Awesome episide, really enjoyed watching this!
🤣🤣 Bro this sounds like me explaining to my wife whenever she's in my track inspired 90 eclipse. Everything is harsh, direct and raw. Great stuff!
Finding that balance of modern comfort and performance on these old cars is tough.. Cost me about $25K to build my Type S to be 100% modern and comfortable, but also have real good power and performance reliability.. I make 435whp/340tq.. Had the entire cabin professionally sound deadened and sealed to get rid of all rattles and cabin noise. Using a custom Hardened Rubber bushing on my Hasports to keep the motor and trans stiff but also lessen vibes. Full electronic suspension with height and dampening control from inside the cabin.. Electric PS and AC(AC compressor is from a Toyota Prius with custom lines) so no drag on the motor(although I need to run a slightly larger batter and alternator).. Trans is built but stuck with Helical's and Syncro engagment with a very nice full face FX400 Clutch which is stiff but very driveable. Spent WAY too much money, but the car is now one I can enjoy driving at all times, even in the city in stop and go traffic. I can have my family in the car and not have them miserable, but also have some fun. People are always like "Oh you coulda just bought a M3" or something along those lines.. But that's not really what building a car is all about. My Type S is mine, one I built myself, and is unique to me. I take pride and that and it gives me far more enjoyment and satisfaction.
Get a return style breather tank and put the bung in the pan already. A little steel wool in the valve cover or putting a shield over it will greatly reduce the oil loss
I noticed you’ve taken your hood vent off. That actually directs hot air out of the engine bay while at speed. Your car being a track car will definitely benefit from it being on.
Larger ports to filters, larger ID lines, install drain of catch can to oil sump.
