You don't need to take the metal band off around the coil as the whole unit will carefully prise up and off the water inlet valve ! That's what I found out when I did my washer dryer. I'm no expert by the way just thought it might help anyone else doing this.
Pry the coil up from the bottom. The whole unit, metal band and all, will slide off the inlet valve stem. Place new coil over stem and push down until it seats. Simple, you're done.

Hum you can acculy do that to the metal strip the amount of force when i removed and reasembled the whole thing did feel wrong. this explains it
