2:08 I have 300+ hours in this game god help me. Playing vanilla Sonic Frontiers is fun. Playing modded Sonic Frontiers is habit-forming. The changes to momentum and combat with mods makes this game incredible. (I used a blend of true physics and hedgehogmaycry). edit: thanks for the tip about bounce height in the settings menu!
this video is so good that i thought that you were a multi thousand sub channel with how high quality the editing and sound is, well done, hope you get more views on this vid
the next big main series game has already been confirmed to be the successor to frontiers. that game is a lot closer to being revealed and released than you think. they didn't have stuff for an open zone game to work with during frontiers development, but now they have frontiers, the 3 free DLC updates, and Shadow gen to work with. side note: we already know a human character who will probably have a big role in that game, she was seen in a TailsTube video between a picture of the unleashed humans and she can also be seen in a big screen in the movie version of Tokyo in one of the movie 3 trailers
After just finishing watching the video in its entirety, I can confidently say that this is without a doubt the most underrated channel I’ve EVER seen before, and I truly hope u grow to have a HUGE fan base and channel. Wishing u luck on success and growth!
Great video frontiers is one of my favourite Sonic games; in fact, it was my favourite until Shadow gens My point is I loved this game a lot, and your video helped remind me why it’s definitely flawed, but it showed a level of effort Sega hasn’t tried in years when it came out. Anyway, great video; keep up the good work. Also, I’m guessing someone already commented this, but you destroyed the blue boxes by using the gun on the plane. It says how to activate it in the skill tree.
I do agree with how stiff animations do convey a slice of life. To me, it's kinda why I don't like great amounts of animation ALL THE TIME as an indicator of quality. It's kinda like Pokemon animes before Sun/Moon, yeah the animations were stiff, but the stiffness conveys the every day life of characters and made the way the characters were posed more important. And it made the scenes where it is needed to have greater animation seem all that much more important. It also makes for an visual experience that is more digestible to have for long stories.
i loved the boss fight musics it even features kellin quinn (frontmann of sleeping with sirens and featured in pierce the veils "King for a day") i love the idea of those epic fast metalcore songs
Instead of Mario 64 I'd say Sonic Frontiers has far mor ein common with yhe design philosophy of Spyro 2 and 3. Several large areas where you're insensitivized to collect stuff and defeat enemies for progression and auch but with a bunch of pace breaking minigame challenges. I prefer the Spyro 1 approach if that's not obvious.
My main gripe with the end boss fight, was the fact that I didn’t know there was a fight at all. They really shouldn’t have locked it behind hard mode. Also, subscription be upon ye. This was a really well made video
Tbh I thought the Parry wasn't even supposed to be a parry in the first place. I thought Sonic Team just used the term because it's a trendy term to be used in le awesome action games. And instead was just a block button in practice.
I disagree about the spin dash being overpowered considering that you have to be skilled at the game in order to abuse it and using your move set in creative ways to complete challenges in unique ways will always be part of Sonic’s innate appeal While I think the spin dash could be toned down a bit it’s still a drastic improvement to the games movement While the fact that those improvements had to be added later rather than being in the game from the beginning is kind of frustrating Losing your speed every time you jump should have never made it into the final game
@AYTM1200 it requires the same amount of special awareness as in SA1 as you need to take into account the environment and terrain in order to find something to launch off of
@@camocaplamo no it doesn't, SA1 has ramps and slopes cleverly woven into its level design so much so you might even miss it. You need to really look around your environment and scan for any slope you can use. In Frontiers on the other hand, these slopes have no specific purpose. You just choose 1 to spin dash off and hope for the best.
@@camocaplamo my issue isn't about whether it works flawlessly, my issue is that it requires no gameplay and is bad level design. How can people complain about "boost to win" in Forces where you press 1 button and blast past a chunk of the level with no skill and say that's bad then turn around and press 1 button (sometimes 2) to basically do the same thing with the spin dash and say it's perfectly fine ?. In SA1 it wasn't nearly as broken so you still had to mostly engage with the level design and it was integrated into the level and not slapped in front of the player forcing them to use their brain to decide which surface to spin dash off.
It was clearly just a test demo for future sonic games that just happened to be good. The combat was terrible, super sonic was clunky and none of his moves link unless you do them halfway through the animation
No one can even argue with this point. The director himself literally described the game as a “global play test” a play test that they charged full price for…….but I guess it was still fun.
You can break the force fields in final horizon with the big tornado laser you can unlock in tails' skill tree. You're welcome
thank you.

bro is SO underrated, this is genuinely one of the best videos on frontiers I've ever seen, keep up the good stuff man!
Never forget they made a short mini episode on knuckles for sonic frontiers and prologue on what he was doing and how he got there

Your video is well made. Hope you'll get more attention over time. Subscribed

I really enjoyed this

I absolutely loved frontier’s and shadow generations just improved on what frontier’s started.
Great video 🤘
You deserve more subs
Im so sorry, this video was so good i had to turn your 69 subs into 70
Now they have 94!!!

I disagree, using the spin dash in Frontiers requires very little skill or spacial awareness like SA1.
@AYTM1200 it requires the same amount of special awareness as in SA1 as you need to take into account the environment and terrain in order to find something to launch off of

@AYTM1200 okay? Just because the slopes weren’t put there with the spin dash in mind doesn’t change the fact that it works flawlessly
@@camocaplamo my issue isn't about whether it works flawlessly, my issue is that it requires no gameplay and is bad level design.

so those blocks you couldnt break can only be broken by tail's mech when you use that cannon ability
It was clearly just a test demo for future sonic games that just happened to be good. The combat was terrible, super sonic was clunky and none of his moves link unless you do them halfway through the animation

What makes me hopeful is that Shadow Gens actually utilizes those elements theyve built. Heres hoping for Frontiers 2
Cyberspace is my favorite part of Frontiers!!!
ONE HOUR and not even ONE HUNDRED SUBS??? HOW?
This video is longer than Forces
I love Sonic Frontiers! I still prefer other Sonic games, tho. (Like Sonic Generations!)
Can we get one of these for ff16
be the change in the world you wish to see
(...ive never played that game lol)
It is a sonic game
Not much. Sonic Frontiers is bad
Edit: well actually okay it’s not BAD it’s just not GREAT
