You picked the right presenter for this. Sarah has the clearest, most concise (and fun!) synth demos on UA-cam. They are accessible while still getting very deep into the complexities of sound synthesis.
I have a moog tower with the dfam, subharmonicon and mother-32 and was really struggling on whether to add the labrynth or the spectravox. This vid helped push me into going with the latter. Thanks!!
The crazy thing about all this stuff is that if you think of it in a eurorack context they're all great and they're all reasonably priced. But if you think of them as regular synths they're all overpriced and have a REALLY sketchy cramped interface. I wish they'd make a Sub 37 without a keyboard.
I can appreciate why you might want that. And there is certainly a market for it I think. That said, each of these instruments has its own unique persona that people may find intriguing on its own or in combination.
I personally like the form factor of the units. I do think they should have provided proper knobs for the smaller controls, which they kind of acknowledged by issuing the knob set.
Great video. She explains everything so well. So good to see her using a SM58 instead of the usual SM7B, which saves users about £250.00 . I would recommend that she uses a pop shield though. Spectravox over the Labyrinth any day!
Bruce Haack was amazing! And yes, no doubt some of the most interesting musical inventions have been overshadowed by their commercialized counterparts - lots of folks like Haack, Kurenniemi, etc are seldom talked about at all these days!
You picked the perfect person to showcase these!

Tanks Sarah. Very clear and useful review. And with a very sweet and intelligent style that gracefully introduces the world of electronic music

Seems they all are complimentary… I’ll have have them all, methinks😂
@@paul_to_the_music I would too but thankfully for my wallet, I have the 4 tier stand. Now if I had a 5 tier stand I would be in trouble! ;)
@@song-mode there are solutions….
Thanks for this overview. Very helpful.
I’m getting another job to drop myself into Moog’s rabbit hole 😅
What an amazing and clarifying video about those synths. Thanks a lot! 🙂
i have all 5 and love them all. Mavis started it all
There are 6 of them. All 6 were showcased here.
Great vid! I know there are many possibilities, but which one would you use as the main master clock to sync all the others?
Dreaming of a DFAM + Subharmonicon + Spectravox combo. Guess I better get saving.
Thank you for an excellent explanation of the possibilities of Moog synth 👍
Great breakdown of what each instrument is intended for. Thanks!
09:44 was anyone else reminded of "the clock" by thom yorke? 😅
Queen of ASMR!

You are so right
For analog synths they aren't really that expensive.

SARAH RULES! good call.
great video👌
Great video
I would class the labyrinth as two turing machines running in parallel
Sarah ❤

And everyone is still telling me aliens don't live among us. It appears they do seem to co-exist. 🤐
I wish Bruse Haack was still alive his instruments where far ahead then moog and other synthesizers

Can someone buy me the ones I don't already have please?
Nice!
Hopefully they will release a Father, Grandfather, and Patriarch soon.

Did you say the DFAM is EDGY? I’d say the EDGE is DFAMy 😂
