Myself and Brooklyn Treasure Hunter tried your program today for a few hours. Program is great and I also want to thank you for a video that's clear and precise .
Ran this program on my BEAST this evening and had a pretty good 2 hours !! Barber dime, Silver war nickel, 2 Buffalo nickels , a gold plated locket and a small pile of clad that included 10 nickels and 2 pennies. This program loves nickels.
Good to hear! Congrats on the silver man! I scored a few today as well. A Rosie, a Merc and a Barber quarter. All pretty iffy signals at a heavily hunted site. The Manticore can sniff ‘em out!
Excellent thanks. This setting and your videos make me finally want to make the jump from my trusty silver slayer E-Trac. You have a new subscriber, thanks.
Thanks Edward. I used an Etrac and CTX for years and they were both great machines. The Manticore is another outstanding detector from Minelab. Good luck with yours! HH!
You have the same outlook as me on how to dig. It's always by mood and how much time I have + the location being hunted. I'm gonna give this a go at a couple older ballfields and see how it does.
Hey Finders-Keepers! Yep, it all comes down to efficiency with me. I only have so much time to detect, so can't "dig it all" as they say. Good luck at those ballfields! HH!
I think this is good for those times when you only have a short time to hunt like over lunch hour or an hour in the evenings. Thanks again!!!!!! I subbed your channel also....
Going to try your program. Just got my Manticore in a few days ago. Went for a hunt with my brother who was using a equinox. He whooped my butt. So it showed me even though I’ve used Minelab detectors for many years this new detector is going to get sometime to get used to. Trouble understand the screen. Would see a good target reading in the 80’s and 90’s with iron reading around it. Would dig and always be iron. Just trying to figure out a good target from iron falsing. Going to try your program see if that helps with depth and pitch. Thanks
Hey Kevin. I would suggest using a higher upper ferrous limit of around 10 until you get used to the machine. It’ll help with the falsing iron signals, and you can open it back up a bit once you get used to using it. This program should work well for learning since it has the upper limit at 10 and uses a fairly tight discrimination pattern. Let us know how it goes and good luck!
I down loaded your program. Same thing happened again. Every target I dug was iron. I didn’t dig one coin. My brother with his equinox found 3 silver dimes. I’ve never seen a detector that falses so much on deep iron. Every target I dug painted a circle on the ferrous line but, it would be all the way over in the high 90’s. This site has lots of iron nails, bolts and other pieces. If you have a good target and iron in the same hole will you have a good target paint in the say 70’s or 80’s and the iron will paint in the upper 90’s? I’m just trying to understand what I’m hearing and seeing. I didn’t have near the iron falsing with the equinox when hunting silvers in iron. What am I doing wrong? Would the 900 work better in iron sites like this over the Manticore?
@@kevinmccrory2347 sorry to hear that man. I’ve heard several others complaining about falsing in sites with a lot of iron. I’ve dug some iron, but not a lot. I think it might depend on the location as some are experiencing the problem while others aren’t. I do know that Minelab is aware of the issue and will hopefully be releasing an update to address it soon. I’m not sure if the 900 is any better. Haven’t used one yet.
Just can’t understand why iron is sounding off so good. When you go over a silver let’s say a dime and it’s near iron will you get a higher or lower number than normal because of the iron? Will you see two targets on the screen? Will a deep iron target that is falsing paint a circle in the upper 90’s like 98 on the ferrous line? Trying to figure out what the detector is telling me.
Thanks Steve. I think they’re both really good for silver shooting. I give the Deus 2 the edge for nuanced audio. The Manticore has more visual aids with Target Trace. I prefer the Deus 2 , but you really can’t go wrong with either one.
Hey buddy, how do you like the manticore compared to the Deus II. I have thought about getting one but I like my Deus II. Is there any advantage to getting the manticore?
Hey Michael. I still have a lot of learning to do on the Manticore, but from what I've learned so far, there's some things I like, and others not so much. The depth of this machine is really impressive and it handles EMI very well. I love how they set up the menu, and all the info provided on the screen with Target Trace. To me, the Deus 2 still still has a lot going for it. Some things not found on the Manticore. For one, the audio on the D2 is mucn more descriptive. Best of any detector I've ever used. That's a big one for me. The other major factor is the weight and balance. While the Manticore is definitely a little better balanced than the Equinox, it still can't touch the Deus in that department. I do a lot of hunting in the woods where I'm not swinging over level ground, so that's a big one for me too. I'll put up my standard 50 hour written review once I get more time on it, and make some comparisons to the Deus 2 and other machines.
@@MetalDetectingNWGA Thanks! I agree with you. The weight and descriptive audio of the Deus II is a big factor. I may hold off and get a manticore in the future.
@@MetalDetectingNWGA Hope so. What other program would you use this in if You couldn’t use it in ATHC? Ive set it up in Fast but haven’t had a chance to try it out yet.
Hey Lloyd! Yes, this should get you most silver rings as well. Some of the really tiny rings might read lower, but I think this will get the vast majority of them as is.
You would miss most gold with this program, as lower conductors will read well below the silver range. Gold can actually read all over the place depending on size, so you’d have to run a much more open pattern.
@@MetalDetectingNWGA One more question, can I save this silver shooter program and have the default program to switch between the silver program and switch to default(to hunt gold ect)
@@scorpio4236 You could save the upper and lower limits, but for whatever reason they didn’t give us an option to save custom disc patterns. If you load up AT HC, this would be the default pattern until you edited it. I haven’t tried the latest update from Minelab so maybe they added that ability.
