" Playing make believe ". why ? " Because its fun ". In those two phrases you summed it up for me. Many times ive wondered why I am so drawn to doing exactly what your doing. I've also been asked several times "whats my deal ?" And "why am I so into ( for lack of a better way to describe it ) vaning ? Ive never been able to come up with a good answer for myself or others. Thanks to you I now have what has to be the best answer there is. " Im playing make believe and Im doing it because its fun !!!! ". " but most of all, Im doing it because its fun !!! Thank you very much !!! You did a great job with this video. Thanks so much. You described everything very well and at a good pace. Not to fast. Not to slow. Also, your camera skills were great. Nice and steady. Not swinging around and bouncing. Along with leaving the camera on the object you were talking about long enuff to have a good look at what you were talking about.
Hey Steve. I really enjoy all of your videos but I am really liking this trip series so far. Love the van and the tour. Thanks for sharing and looking forward to the next video. Take care!
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your RV, I've just started researching to figure out what I would like to buy. Your information was very helpful.
Love the new intro, now you're truly "Xplorer Steve" base yourself in Moab for a few days, you will not regret it. Some of the most beautiful landscapes in this country is a short drive from there. Safe travels.
Great video, man! You covered a lotta stuff with some great shots and commentary. In the process of getting an 82 xplorer myself here in NYC! Love all the perks you mentioned
Awesome Steve. Your buddy did a good job of washing it on arrival. I wish I was traveling like you are. A bucket list item for me is Crater Lake in Oregon. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
Best Idea out of all the rv`s that one can decide from. Also there are no stupid decals stuck on the sides. Thanks for info on the dual rear wheels / air bags / engine size / Nice layout on the inside and eazy to drive and park. keep up the good work my friend.
Truly an awesome video. Nice to hear your thoughts on the Xplorer after you've spent a good amount of time on the road in it. Dodge really seems to know what they're doing with their vans! Thanks for sharing!
Hi Steve, I'm really enjoying watching your adventure from a far (the UK). You've done a good job making your RV look very desirable, even my OH commented how nice it looks. Enjoy the rest of your adventure.
Very nice review Steve! To me half the fun is fixing them up to suit your personality. Great looking van! I have never used my microwave in my Rialta and plan on using that space for something one day! lol
Great video Steve. Very nice van also. You have put a lot of time and work into it and it shows. You're videos are always interesting no mater what the content is. That is pretty good gas mileage though however I have that beat by a mile..My last trip of over 2500 miles I only used 2.5 gallons of fuel. But it is a 52 ft sailboat ...........LOL Thanks for the inside look at you're awesome Xplorer....Have a nice day buddy! C YA
Great review Steve! One of the best. You bring out some great Class B points. We've had three travel trailers (3rd now) and one Class B. There are always trade offs for sure. Now, I want one of each!
Great video! I agree, vans like yours are perfect for the solo traveler. It would be tight, like an airplane seat, for more than one. I do hope you keep your Xplorer for many more years and share your adventures with us!
you're right steve cause when we traveling to sudden state and we met up with local and having conversation talk a lot about their life and state that make more beautiful than just when through check in hotel or motel i agree with you for sure
I just want to let you know, doing internet "research" I thought the xplorer 230 xlw is in my opinion probably one of the best class B's out there. Of course your video's helped quite a bit as I now also own a 97 xplorer xlw! Driving at 60 mph I obtained an average of 15.67 mpg driving it home from TX to TN! I have some work to do as it is cosmetically challenged but mechanically sound!
Some good points Steve, when I purchased my 2005 Pleasure Way,was tough deciding small c,or type b,one thing that I found was that a decent used, well priced class b sold fast,so if you wanted to buy, better hurry or it was gone.
Great video Steve. I am envious of your gas mileage. With our class a we get 6.5 to 7. When towing our CRV it drops to 6 - 6.5. Our first Winnebago View brand new we got 19 mpg. Miss the mpg, but enjoy the room in our class a.
Your van is so clean neat and orderly. I just love it. A couple of observations from my point of view. I would take the bike off the rear. To my eye it screams steal me. I would replace it with a Brompton folding bikE which you could store in that big rear compartment. Also if you put those plastic air deflectors on the driver and passenger side windows, you can roll those windows open a crack with safety, I am told. That would seem to increase air circulation. Lastly, JustInCredible has a great discussion about Xplorer vs. larger RV and why he went to his current vehicle. Best of luck to you, and thank you again for all of your efforts.
Steve, beautiful van. I wish I could have found an Xplorer but after looking over a year ended up getting a '99 Pleasure Way. Have you thought of repainting the front of the air conditioner as well as the plastic porch light to match the white of everything else. The faded yellowish plastic kind of jumps out and doesn't match the rest of the beautiful van. I have the same faded plastic parts on my rig.
Nice Clean Body with no stupid stickers/ graphics. Like the dual wheels :) The 21 ft. is the best way to camp and drive on a regular basis. you can always make changes to the inside layout. You had better keep this buddy.
I like seeing you enjoy the Xplorer. You chose well and put a lot of work into it. It's a great rig. You plan on going to Lake Tahoe? Hope so. Be safe.
I have a 99 pleasure way wide body, same colors as yours, same cabinets pulls I installed. Did you remove the decals? If so, how did you do it? Did you have to paint the van after you removed them? My van looks awesome inside. Not so worried about the outside look as I don't want to attract attention to it, but I would like to remove the decals, like yours.
I'm in love with your Van. exactly what I want. I personally think I'd not use the black tank and just use plastic bags in toilet and dump in public trash like dirty diapers. urine in a gallon jug and empty in public toilets in rest areas or roadside parks.
Great review of your Xplorer. 👏 😆 I have a 98 Xplorer 230 xlw and I agree I wish it had at another 12 volt and may add that in.👍 IF I had a significant other I could see myself traveling with him in it with no problems and I think it could be extremely fun and cozy in it especially when passing by each other.💏💓😉 But that's me!!! 😁
Hi Steve, I see from your video that you have a backup camera. I have a 2000 Dodge 3500 Pleasure-Way campervan and would like to connect a wireless camera to the back. I have three clearance markers and a brake light at the back. Is it possible to get power from them for the camera? How did you power your camera?
I really like your rig, a lot. I love that it's all white (so beauty IS in the eye of the beholder); black or dark grey would be cooler, but much more conspicuous. I like that you can stealth park most of all. What rig would you buy to replace this, of the same length? I'm still in the exploration phase...thank you for your very informative vids.
I like the Pleasure Way Plateau. It is not as stealth as it is a B+ but it is under 21ft as well so parking anywhere is possible. If I had an extra 100k laying around and really wanted another RV, that would be it. I am happy with what I have however. I am a part-timer and alone so it works.
If and when you decide down line to sell your diamond of a van return on investment will be sky high no doubt. 30+ years I spent in retail vehicle/truck/RV sales never did I not fetch top dollar for a desired rig in superb condition like the one you have.
Everytime I see your van I turn green with envy.
Especially after all the hard work you put into it.
It really is a fine vehicle.
It was worth it for sure.
Hi Steve, just found your channel. Great to see you enjoying your new adventure in your retirement.
" Playing make believe ". why ? " Because its fun ". In those two phrases you summed it up for me. Many times ive wondered why I am so drawn to doing exactly what your doing. Great Video. Your getting better with each one, safe travels.
Thank you for sharing your thoughts about your RV, I've just started researching to figure out what I would like to buy. Your information was very helpful.
Thanks.
Keep up the great work Steve really enjoy watching your videos, Really like the style of the van wished we could pick these up in the UK.
Love the new intro, now you're truly "Xplorer Steve" base yourself in Moab for a few days, you will not regret it. Some of the most beautiful landscapes in this country is a short drive from there. Safe travels.

Explorer Steve, Great video as usual. Yours continues to be in my top 5 list of youtube videos. Well thought out and interesting fun topics!
Thanks for stopping by.
Awesome Steve. Your buddy did a good job of washing it on arrival. I wish I was traveling like you are. A bucket list item for me is Crater Lake in Oregon. Thanks for sharing your adventure.
That is on the list for me too. Can't believe I did't see it on my first time through.
Best Idea out of all the rv`s that one can decide from. Also there are no stupid decals stuck on the sides. Thanks for info on the dual rear wheels / air bags / engine size / Nice layout on the inside and eazy to drive and park. keep up the good work my friend.
I like the plain white exterior. You have done a good job; I can even see the shine.
love the van and how clean it looks , finally sold my A8,.. im now fixing up a chysler grand voyager to go test camping :).
Truly an awesome video. Nice to hear your thoughts on the Xplorer after you've spent a good amount of time on the road in it. Dodge really seems to know what they're doing with their vans! Thanks for sharing!
It's a keeper.
Hi Steve, I'm really enjoying watching your adventure from a far (the UK). You've done a good job making your RV look very desirable, even my OH commented how nice it looks. Enjoy the rest of your adventure.
Thanks sir.
Very nice review Steve! To me half the fun is fixing them up to suit your personality. Great looking van! I have never

Nice video! Explanatory and informative. Thank you!
You are welcome.
Another great vid on a great rig. Keep 'em comin' Steve whenever you feel like and on whatever topic. It's all good, and it's your channel after all.
Thanks Rich.
Seems the cons are on the very low side :) So glad you're enjoying your trip and thanks for sharing it with us.
Nice. I have a 1996 236XL I just bought, so it's fun to see what other people's experience of this brand is.
Thanks, great information and I love the look of it.
Great review Steve! One of the best. You bring out some great Class B points. We've had three travel trailers (3rd now) and one Class B. There are always trade offs for sure. Now, I want one of each!
I was looking at a fiberglass trailer a while ago. It would go good with my F150.
Great video! I agree, vans like yours are perfect for the solo traveler. It would be tight, like an airplane seat, for more than one. I do hope you keep your Xplorer for many more years and share your adventures with us!
It's a keeper.
I am glad you are having fun
Nice review. Very thorough. Thanks!
I love the look of this van
Very informative!!! Really helps me in deciding what I am looking to buy! Thanks
Good luck on your search.
This was awesome! Thank you Steve, is there any chance you will ever make an update video on your camper van? :)
Enjoy all your videos keep making and posting them, God bless.
I think your Van is absolutely Beautiful and accommodating to yours or anyone else's needs!
You've got a beee-u-ti-ful camper van! Great video, Steve. Thanks!
Steve appreciates your support even if he can't thank you himself.
Great video and new intro! :)
you have done a fantastic job. van looks fantastic
you're right steve cause when we traveling to sudden state and we met up with local and having conversation talk a lot about their life and state that make more beautiful than just when through check in hotel or motel i agree with you for sure
Sure. for sure.
Steve your Explorer is impeccably clean. Cleanliness is next to Godliness!!!I love it!
Thanks Paula.

Very cool van. You should take it to the Talladega 500 soon. Lots of fun.
Thanks for sharing! Excellent video!
like the new intro pretty good fun and not to long good one
Some good points Steve, when I purchased my 2005 Pleasure Way,was tough deciding small c,or type b,one thing that I found was that a decent used, well priced class b sold fast,so if you wanted to buy, better hurry or it was gone.
Yes. I made sure I had cash on had and a price point. I was ready to pounce.... and did.
Great video Steve. I am envious of your gas mileage. With our class a we get 6.5 to 7. When towing our CRV it drops to 6 - 6.5. Our first Winnebago View brand new we got 19 mpg. Miss the mpg, but enjoy the room in our class a.
The key word there is "we". This is good for solo. MPG is a plus.
Nice rig, and great job using LEDs. Subscribed
Thanks for the sub Jake.
Your van is so clean neat and orderly. I just love it. A couple of observations from my point of view. I would take the bike off the rear. To my eye it screams steal me. I have my eye on the deflectors as well as the bugflector.
Livin Large and Traveling lite.... Nice series of videos. Enjoyed.
Thanks much.
Thanks for your opinion on the dual rear wheels. I was wondering if there was any real value in them for this van.
You are living the dream!!
Good video...Liking to see you heading South by West. Some excellent scenes i think!
Yes. I hear that is true.
Xplorer Steve
Great looking rig and great tour.
Ohhh. David is back. Sad to hear under the circumstances. Yeah, I stayed subbed....just in case. See you around.
Thanks Steve. I'll have more videos up soon.
another a/c option is portable a/c units which vent through a hose similar to a clothes dryer.
I wish I had an Xplorer Camper Van like yours!
A+ van ... I want one when I grow up.
You and me both, brother.
Thorough! Great review
I love your van. It looks great with the decals removed.
I like it decal free also.
Love that Van man!
Nice Clean Body with no stupid stickers/ graphics. Like the dual wheels :) The 21 ft. is the best way to camp and drive on a regular basis. you can always make changes to the inside layout. You had better keep this buddy.
You should come through Missouri!
By the way your van looks BEAUTIFUL and super clean! That is the way to do it.
I like seeing you enjoy the Xplorer. You chose well and put a lot of work into it. It's a great rig. You plan on going to Lake Tahoe? Hope so. Be safe.
Tahoe is on the list.
awesome rig, even for the year model !!!
I think it looks great.
That’s a great explorer bro!
Yes. Making squeegee sounds.
+Xplorer Steve So f
+Irene V So funny. 😂😉
Well mr explorer steve baby .. the van is a thing of beauty no iffins aboot it .. Excellent report..pip pips and carryon pilgrim 😁
How much did you get the van for and about how much money in upgrades have u put into it to get it like this?
I love your van, good way to enjoy your retirement.
It's been fun so far.
sweet ride! bet Justin misses the old Dora he did own
i want one.
don't miss the Black Hills of South Dakota, a personal favorite.
That will be another time. Soo many places to see. Thanks joe!
That is a clean sweet rv and you have done a super job getting it in shape.😊😊
Beautiful! 🐙
That's a nice looking vehicle IMO...like the Dodge platform .
Excellent!
Nice job thanks
Van is looking good.
Wire to one of the tail light backup light. It activates the camera when the vehicle goes into reverse.

Very nice rigs, but yes, also very pricey.
Great videos. What video editing program do you use? Sony Vegas Pro? Adobe Premiere Pro? Thanks.
Just the Macbook with I-movie.
I like your van.
Steve, you probably mentioned this in another video but, have you thought about color matching the A/C unit with the rest of the interior?
From time to time. Priorities.
Are you going to the can-am camper con 8/21 , you know Justin would like to see your van close up
That is maybe.
excellent van, keep travelling and posting
small and stealth is the way to go.. . great your not paying for camping!!
13 MPG. Was that driving alone or using fuel for generator?
awesome. You are living my dream. :-)
I rarely use my microwave, but it's a good place to store paper plates, etc.
I may make it a cabinet or go convection oven which I might use more.
If and when you decide down line to sell your diamond of a van return on investment will be sky high no doubt. 30+ years I spent in retail vehicle/truck/RV sales never did I not fetch top dollar for a desired rig in superb condition like the one you have.
There is one of these beauties in similar condition on RVTader right now with 38,000 miles on it for $38,000.00.
Too pricey for me. I would go private seller everytime.
Hey Steve, was it easy installing the backup camera?
Super, super simple. Wireless makes it easy however, hardwired has a better picture.
When this video started I thought it was going to totally suck. Exact opposite. Great video.
Haa. Thanks.
good video !!! very clean RV for 99.....enjoy montana...Stop in Butte and visit the "Lady Of The Rockies Statue" if you get a chance...take care
I will look into it thanks.
I like it
Thanks Dave.
if you're going west and haven't visited Yellowstone I would highly recommend it.
I am considering it.
