Stormtrooper Thank you! This is one of the first videos I did with a voice over and it’s pretty terrible but I’ve gotten heaps better in front of the camera since then. Haha
Hello again, Nick, hope you're well mate. Is there any chance you could explain how you do the double taps? Especially when you are playing them at full speed. Just wondering what exactly you have to do with the fingers and wrist to get them sounding so good, Hope that's OK, thanks
ryan parry I play them mostly as rimshots but everyone has their own style so it doesn’t really matter. Feel free to play them as accents or rimshots. 😁
@@NickBukey thanks very much for replying, I've been watching a few videos about rimshots and I must admit it's very confusing (I feel as if the lessons are giving out mixed messages), so I'm struggling to understand when a rimshot should be played and when it should not
ryan parry My philosophy is that it entirely depends on the music, dynamics and sound you are after at any given moment. You should aim to master both accents and rimshots so you can fluidly and accurately use a combination of both to achieve your musical purpose.
@@NickBukey OK, that's helpful, thanks (much appreciated). I love playing the drums but I've been trying to learn things on my own, the confusion over the rimshots (and other things) is really taking the enjoyment out of playing at the moment (just feel like I don't know what I'm doing with half of the exercises), maybe it's best to get lessons with a tutor from now on but it's so expensive. Thanks, Nick, I was surprised someone would take the time to reply.
Question... I see on your pdf's that it says no part of your lesson may be reproduced. Are you saying that no drummer can use any of these fills or fragments thereof in any new recording? I've never heard of a drummer being able to copyright a fill and have that hold up in court. Surely, almost every combination of a sextuplet fill has been used or recorded at this point. If I"m misinterpreting what you're saying, please forgive me. Maybe what you're saying is, no one is allowed to recreate the lesson as a lesson. I do fully appreciate the lesson.
It's not the link to that particular song. It's just a link to the artist. The song is not available and he made it specifically for my video introductions. Litche has many other pieces and projects so contact him directly through facebook or his social media platforms if you want anything in particular. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Nick Bukey Perfectly! I'm thankfull bout it. Gonna follow your tip and have to say: Nice Gospel Chops, I'm drummer too. Have a great day, nice to meet you.
