This is a recipe for Filipino banana fritters.
    Details: panlasangpinoy.com/banana-fri...
    Ingredients:
6 pieces ripe “Saba” banana mashed
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 egg beaten
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    3/4 cup granulated white sugar
    1 cup fresh milk
    3/4 cups cooking oil
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and 1/2 cup sugar. Mix well.
Gradually add the mashed bananas while mixing.
Add the egg, vanilla extract, and milk. Mix to incorporate all the ingredients.
Heat half of the oil in a pan.
When the oil becomes hot, scoop about 1/2 cup of the mixture and then pour in the pan (add the remaining oil in the next batches).
Fry both sides until the color turns golden brown.
Sprinkle the remaining sugar on both sides.
    Serve. Share and enjoy!

Maruya is a kind of fritters . One can use vegetables or in this case , saba banana . This reminds me of my childhood . My favorite is the one made of kalabasa / pumpkin , my mom would add cinnamon powder . Thanks for the trip down memory lane .

Now, I know how to make maruya the right way. I made some maruya the other day. I used plantain since we don’t have available saba. I used only flour and water. I followed one of the videos in youtube. It tasted good, but the batter was lacking something.
I mixed white sugar & cinnamon powder sprinkled it on top of the fried plantain. It was delicious.
Would definitely try this recipe. Thanks for sharing ❤️.

Hi, Vanjo. :) But mine wasn't as perfect, probably, haha. My version became panlasang Pinoy, relished in the liberty of home cooking (a.k.a. cooking without exact measurements). OK naman, nakatatlo na 'ata ako. It's dinnertime here as of this writing, so my beverage was simply a mug of hot tea. Thank you for sharing, Vanjo.

Classic maruya ay walang milk walang egg flour lang at konting sugar at hiniwa ang saging not mashed.

People can innovate naman. Classic is good but he wanted to cook maruya with a twist and I think there's nothing wrong with that.

Can I use banana plantain ? It’s hard to find the Saba in Florida. I love your concept of cooking very easy. Stay safe 🙏😇
