Whatever people are saying about Bobby Kimbal here, though he's not with Toto anymore, he's still a great singer. What I find sad here is watching poor Mike Porcaro. He's an absolute trooper here and does not let up at all, but already by this stage he was in the early stages of ALS (though he wasn't diagnosed yet, this was to be his last your with Lee Sklar taking over for him to continue the tour in 2007), hence his lack of movement onstage and the stool behind him. Also if you notice at 1:17:47 his left thumb is taped up and in a weird position and his hand seems stiff, cos he was slowly progressively starting to lose the use of his Hands, and would eventually lose the ability to move at all. You can see it noticeably. He kept going but eventually had to retire. We sadly lost him in 2015 to that horrible disease. Sorry I never got to see him perform with them. RIP Mike Porcaro.
I saw this tour and Mike was amazing!! I actually had tickets for the Kingdom of Desire tour when Jeff was still alive, but he passed between then and the show so I saw Simon who had stepped in. That show at The Park West in Chicago was amazing, but you could see every one of them fighting back the tears all night!! Best band ever, no matter what the configuration!! I met Simon a few months ago on his Protocol IV tour and we talked about that night. He said he remembered it very vividly and it was a really tough night for the guys.
Yeah, I remember Mike Porcaro posting around this time on the now defunct Toto Network that he was having problems with his left hand that needed to be looked into. He used to post quite frequently on the Toto Network, but one day in mid-April 2007 he suddenly stopped. Now we know why.
Lukather is sick. The perfect rock guitarist, versatile, smooth and his impressions and styles are so full of passion and feel, gravy! He never hams it up always plays to the strength of the song and live his stuff is tight and sounding great.

On the one hand superb to see Mike live for one of the final times ever. Saw him live on this tour in Stadtpark Hamburg sitting on a stool with taped thumbs. But what really sucks on this vid is the ennoying sound quality shift back and forth and the cut of groove insides some of the tracks....any kind of copyright issue...? Strange. Sad to hear Bobby really reaching his limits. But anyhow a great trip in the "way-back-machine". My personal favourite toto gig was October 1992 Hannover Music Hall. Line up: Paich / Luke / Mikey P / Phillips. More than 3 hours blast. My first Toto gig ever. I was thrilled when Bobby was back on board 1998. Great memories.....
Here is an link for audio recording of that concert : ua-cam.com/video/8396HSULu6E/v-deo.html Mike was Audibly Struggling while playing so gs like Africa, sad they removed songs like I will remember from the set.
For the sake of Bobby's voice, It's puzzling why they started the set with Falling in Between. Dont get me wrong, it's a super awesome opener but Kimball only goes down from there. He kills it on that song ignoring the off pitch sections which is really common on unpolished live videos like this, Greg even has a few moments like that! After falling in between it's just downhill from there in terms of his voice.
His vocals sound pretty live on that track I think! If they really were using his studio vocals, why include/change sections where he goes noticeably sharp? Why not use the studio vocals on the rest of the tracks here then?
He could wear pajamas & I wouldn’t care…I think about the insane all around musical talent as soon as I see him & forget everything else. But he does look great in that T-shirt.
The beginning of the end for Mike Porcaro..The days ahead would become so dark it was and still is tragic...Joe and Eileen had to say good bye to 2 sons and a grandson before either would pass...
Thanks for posting! Love Toto, but why is Bobby doing Fergie songs?!? Bad decision. Talk about setting up an amazing singer to damage his voice night after night...

Glad to hear Mike Porcaro on this live!

Good to see Bobby Kimball be a part of this group into the new century when he could have just gone away for good in 1984.
His voice has paid the price....and he's slipping here....but he's been a great presence....big props to his history with this band.
Too bad they couldn't bring in Fergie Frederiksen one more time before he passed. Endless and Isolation just aren't the same.
