      If you still have this laptop to setup fingerprint shutdown and start the laptop and immediately Press F10 key continuosly. Then you will get a menu go to advance section with the help of arrow keys and from there you can turn on the fingerprint. I did it a log time ago so I forgot the particular section it is situated but you will find it there only. Just spend some time there looking around

Make sure it's enabled. In your HP laptop's BIOS, navigate to Advanced > Built-in Device Options and look for Backlit keyboard timeout. Set it to however long you want to enable backlighting.

    • @scott8031
      @scott8031 4 роки тому

      This is one thing that I've noticed about most 15" laptops nowadays with 1080 panels. The OEM scales up the display to make it look crisp (usually 125% or 150%). Consequence being the loss of screen real-estate. It's unfortunate. I've eventually adjusted myself to having it scaled at 100%, although admitting that it's still a little hard to see at the end of a long day. Other than that, this laptop has actually been pretty decent for normal desktop use.

    • @Dovecomputers
      @Dovecomputers  6 років тому +1

      Shouldn't do. Didn't see this on our review model. The 850 G5 uses the Intel 'U' chip = low power, low heat, better battery. With a SSD, minimum heat also. Surfing the web would not tax the CPU, normally it will run approx. 1.0Ghz, almost fanless. Make sure you don't block any ventilation holes underneath the laptop, hence why you find little rubber feet for the ventilation gap. Otherwise, my guess would be a fault on your laptop - YL

    You panned past a thunderbolt 3 port and called it USB-C. As a reviewer, you lost all credibility with me on that. I might recommend you do some more research before you do a product review.

    • @Dovecomputers
      @Dovecomputers  6 років тому +9

      Actually, we are both right. It is a USB-C with Thunderbolt 3. Thank you for highlighting the mistake.

    • @colomboBE
      @colomboBE 6 років тому +2

      She is half correct. She forgot to mention it is a Thunderbolt Port.
      The Thunderbolt Port is a USB Type-C Connector

    • @technicallyreal
      @technicallyreal 6 років тому +5

      It's very important to mention Thunderbolt 3 as opposed to just a USB Type-C port. The accessories that can be plugged in are drastically different.
      Suggestion, please try and mention how many lanes, or how much bandwidth the Thunderbolt 3 ports support. This is important for users who plan to plug into a Thunderbolt 3 dock or external graphics card (for gaming), which is becoming more and more common. Sometimes ports only have 2 (instead of 4) lanes, which means 20Gbps (instead of 40Gbps) bandwidth, which is effectively a half-speed port. Dell had done this to some of its XPS models in the past, upsetting many people.
      Also the CPU you mention the laptop having doesn't exist. 8850U. I think you meant 8550U.

    • @sbtjlhw111
      @sbtjlhw111 6 років тому +2

      I second Ryan, a USB-C port does not mean it has TB3 protocol, but a TB3 port always uses a USB-C port. With all the rage in eGPU lately, it's important to clarify which port is which, and the number of PCIe lanes it has for a TB3 port.
      One more thing, some USB-C ports comes with always on technology, which means the laptop will act as a bigger power bank for your mobile devices. An additional lightning logo may be present alongside with the typical USB logo, as in the case of HP Envy laptops, but those are certainly not TB3. The subtle difference is at the tail section of each lightning logo: TB3's logo has an arrow at the tail section, while USB-C always on does not.

    • @dan8t669
      @dan8t669 6 років тому

      A USB-C port can be:
      USB 2.0 (480 Mbit/s)
      USB 3.0 (5 Gbit/s)
      USB 3.0 with DisplayPort 1.2
      USB 3.1 Gen2 (10 Gbit/s)
      USB 3.1 Gen2 with DisplayPort 1.4
      Thunderbolt 3 with 2 lanes (20 Gbit/s)
      Thunderbolt 3 with 4 lanes (40 Gbit/s)
      Huge differences. I wouldn't call that half correct.
