    I have the exact same mill I use for most of my flours. I also have the adapter and it works off of my Ankarsrum mixer (the mill is a bit noisy, but my mixer is much quieter). This works for my oat flaker (also from the same company), I too have the hand crank but don't use it much. I believe they also sell adapters for other mixers like the Bosch, Wondermill mixers etc., so people don't have to buy the separate motor. It works well for me, some people do not like the coarseness of the flour from this mill, but it mixes well and makes great breads, rolls, cakes, whatever for us. Happy baking!

    I have the same grain mill, except without the motor base. I’ve had it since 1999. I have the hand crank, but I also bought an adapter that allows me to use it with my Kitchenaid mixer. I love it!

    We use a lot of the same things! It was fun to see your kitchen in the first few videos I watched. I kept saying, “Oh, she has a Berkey”, “Oh she has a Bosch!”. Today I was saying, “what we use the same olive oil” Kindred ❤️ Have a great day. Thanks for your great content.

    A wealth of information as always ! I have a Bosch mixer much like yours. I've had it since the 70's and it still runs strong ! Made the mistake of leaving the whisk attachment in it when making cookies and well I'm sure you can imagine what happened. Didn't even know they were still being made so now I'll try to find some replacement whisks. Hopefully for one as old as mine. Thanks.

    I absolutely love my Bosh! I put it on layaway at a local kitchen store and I have had it for maybe 15 years. I debated between my Bosh and a Kitchenade. People you can do 6 loaves of bread dough in this thing! Mine looks different than yours, my extras go on the side.

    I *ADORE* my Bosch mixer and grain mill! I have a different flour mill model.
    As for the mixer/kitchen station, it does everything. I can make multiple loaves of bread and it handles the dough like a boss. Great for holiday baking, too! I can easily double a cookie recipe and get no issues with the mixer clogging up. Love it... best kitchen investments I’ve ever made.

    Thx Constance, question have you experienced any problems with your grain mill? Have you needed to grind the w berries twice? Wandering if I should invest in this model versus a metal built mill.

    I own a Kitchenaid Classic mixer that is 40+ years old. My hubby bought it for me back in the 70's. It was $150 and I thought it was such an extravagance that I would never buy one for myself; but I coveted it. Needless to say, I am glad it was purchased before they sold out to Whirlpool! The quality has dropped significantly. I can't tell you how many times I have heard of mixers needing to be returned right out of the box because they are defective. I use my Kitchenaid Classic when I am making one loaf of bread. Do not knead over #2 or you will burn the motor out. I also use it for cookies, cakes, etc as long as they are single batches. For multiple loaves of bread and big batch cookies, I use my Bosch Universal Plus. I love this machine. Just like Constance stated, "It is a workhorse." I also have a sweet potato, cranberry, pecan roll recipe that only needs one knead with the Bosch. It saves me time because I do not have to do two rises! It kneads that well! I have not experimented with other recipes.

      I had that happen with a "professional" grade ($600+) Kitchenaid. It started smoking, and I thought it was going to catch fire! It was the first week I had owned it, and I had to go round and round with the warranty person. I am not in the habit of raising my voice with people, but I did that day. I had hoped to be able to use that for all my mixing needs, and only have one mixer in the house. Nope - love my Bosch. :)

    I ordered my Wondermill from PleasantHill 6 weeks ago and it was in stock at the time. I just got it last week. Made my first bread in many years and boy was it good. I've been low carb for a long time so this might be a problem lol. One question - do you freeze your bread if you've made extra, and if so - does it freeze well? As always - enjoyed your video. Thank you and have a blessed week!

    • @CosmopolitanCornbread
      @CosmopolitanCornbread  3 роки тому +4

      Thank you! I usually just make what will be eaten in a week or less. I don't really like freezing bread, because I don't think it tastes as good. You know, I went low carb a few years ago. I lost a good bit of weight, and all of my joint pain disappeared. A few months ago I started experimenting with the freshly milled wheat (I had gotten out of the habit of it) and I have not had any negative repercussions. I'm not going to be going overboard, but I'm happy to be able to have toast in the morning with my coffee again :)

      @@CosmopolitanCornbread I was on low carb and lost 70 lbs in 1 year. Unfortunately I've put on 20 since Christmas and have had a hard time getting back on. Too many good foods to eat lol. I was thinking that bread wouldn't be good after freezing. Thank you for answering my question.

    When you make 4 loaves of bread at one time how do you store it? How long will it keep?

    • @CosmopolitanCornbread
      @CosmopolitanCornbread  3 роки тому +1

      I usually keep the bread in either bread bags or in an airtight container. The bread is best for the first 3-4 days, and is still usually good for about a week. But I don't keep it longer than that, as there are no preservatives in it. If we don't eat it all in a week, the chickens get a treat. You could also freeze loaves, or halve the recipe and only make 2.

    • @ritahopkins7213
      @ritahopkins7213 3 роки тому

      Thank you. That's what Ill do halve the recipe and freeze one. There's only me and I know homemade wont last weeks like the store bread. After I was informed what was in store bread it made me sick. I'm not that good of a bread maker but I'm sure going to keep trying.

    How can you tell an egg has gone bad?

    • @CosmopolitanCornbread
      @CosmopolitanCornbread  3 роки тому +1

      In the instance where I cracked open the egg and it was bad, it was - um - nasty looking inside. But in a normal situation, if you have an egg and don't know if it is good or bad there is an easy test. Place the whole egg (shell and all) in a glass of water. If the egg lays down, it is fresh. If it stands up on end, it is still good, but should be used soon. If the egg floats, toss it! :) I have a video I did a while back that talks about it. The float test is usually a good key, BUT even if an egg is fresh, sometimes a hen can have issues in the process of forming the egg and there could be blood or tissue. That is why I do it in a separate container, even though my eggs are always fresh.

    Do double yolk eggs ever hatch ?? If so are they twins ?

    • @CosmopolitanCornbread
      @CosmopolitanCornbread  3 роки тому +1

      From everything I have read, that a double yolk could have twins, however there is not enough room or oxygen for them both to survive. Either one or both normally pass away in the process.
