    Costar stabilizers are better in terms of not having to maintain them nearly as frequently as cherry style ones, just lube the wires and inserts once. HUGE TIP FOR INSTALLING THAT IS VERY EASY: Install the inserts on the wires FIRST, THEN push the inserts down all the way so the are right against the PCB, then just line up ur keycaps and press down. I don't understand why its so hard for people to think of that lol

    another tip on making these boards sound good, I recommend you open up the board, and lubed the sliders of the switches and switch housing, also lube the PCB on every space where the springs of the switches sit with a light layer to reduce rattle and crunch sound.

    costar are finnicky but if set up with enough lube they are really good. Better than the best screw ins

    Hi! I've been using my micro84 for around 2 years now, also have a very rickety space bar. I always wear headphones, so it's almost unnoticeable for me, and I am also not very into modding keyboards, so I am content with what I have. I really like how the keys feel. I'd also say that they are very much like tactile switches and that's what I like about them

      Glad you like your keyboard! Any plans to get another in the future?

      @@TrashBuildsWell, hope nothing happens to it and it'll stay functional for many years to come, but this is a really tough question. Apparently there are a lot more switches now then there were back then. And I've watched some videos and it seems like that even cheap aliexpress keyboards sound great nowadays. On the other hand, the most important thing is how a keyboard feels and I think I prefer nopre over any other kind of switch. I wish they made hot swappable nopre switches, so we could compare them with other tactile switches on a same keyboard. Anyway, if one day my keyboard just suddenly disappears, I'll buy something like a cheap pre-lubed, silenced pre-built keyboard from Aliexpress just to explore the current state of mainstream mechanical keyboards.

    One factor that makes topre hard to speak of its tactility is age. Older rubber domes are more tactile then newer domes.

    Ok aside from the rattle, it sounds tasty 😋

      Most of the rattle went away after I remembered that lube is a thing, but the stabs still don't sound good.

    Please don't give up on topre😭😭😭 Try to mod an HHKB it's soo fire!!!
    Edit: I forgot you were going to get a class60 and I heard your closing thoughts, glad to hear that you aren't giving up on topre!

      is worth paying that much for a hhkb?

    • @nilmmtyo
      @nilmmtyo 8 місяців тому +1

      @@s0ulnetcon I'd think so, If you're willing to mod it and curious to try hhkb layout (if you haven't and topre), using it stock is fine too if that's what you like but I think that modding the hhkb is worth, but the stabs are kinda tricky.

      @@s0ulnetcon That's awesome dude! Oh btw, topre has a tactile feel that mechanical switches can't replicate, it's really nice!

      If I ever get an HHKB I want to get a heavy grail lol too bad that's like twice the cost of the keyboard itself

    Not the bestest best, but all things considered, to me it seems you managed to get this keyboard to barely make it to fairly-decent territory, enough to avoid buyer's remorse syndrome which should make you feel relieved at the very least, if not good. ---Disclaimer: by no means a keyboard expert here, just basing my comment purely on what I'm seeing and this recent "keyboard f+etish" I didn't know I had (please don't judge me).
    Unrelated question: saw your video about cera-keys. In your opinion, Non-Crazed but "regular colors" with legends keycaps: Yes or No?
    Cool vids.

    • @TrashBuilds
      @TrashBuilds  7 місяців тому +1

      I actually don't have any cerakeys with legends so I don't know. It didn't occur to me when buying them that it might be different so I chose the more aesthetically pleasing ones

    HI I really interested in this board, is it possible to get a sound test with non trash errr I mean non-cerakeys keycaps? 😀
    I feel the pain with the stabilizers by the way

    It´s a matter of taste I guess, I really don´t like how these electro-capacitive keyboards sound. Plus it doesn´t speak well of the company that released a keeb with such horrible stabs. Hard pass for me.
