Just like some of the others here, I’m a bit older than you, and remember these being the hot new thing in the 80’s. Still love them to this day. Never owned one, but definitely want one in the future. I’ve got a neighbor up the block that has one, I slow down every time I drive by his house. Looking forward to seeing more on this, and the super charger…oh that’s gonna be fun 🤙
When I was in elementary school favorite book in the library book about motorcycles and there was a little lay down one it was all green and I thought it was the shit then I grew up and I came to realize the low and lean green motorcycle I was in rolled with was actually a fiberglass layout of a naked woman
I love your videos, brother! I own a ‘90 S2 Cabriolet….bought it as a “gift” to me when I turned 50 the same year I made O6 in the Navy. It speaks to a time when Pink Floyd, Black Sabbath and Jethro Tull in decline in popularity, and the increasing popularity of U2, Star Trek The Next Generation, Miami Vice and Phil Collins. God, I loved that era! And I love my car….it tracks as if on rails. Now in my mid 60s, I would like a better stereo system, and a f-king cup holder! Ha! Man, you have a great sense of humor! I’m not keen on the gold dials. Was that original….the color, I mean? Of course, black and gold was popular ….ala my Dad’s Trans Am…during his “permed hair” phase…..God rest his soul! He wanted a black and gold, but settled for a Tenth Anniversary silver Trans Am.
Slayer shirt is fire by the way. Apparently metal heads are “hot again” according to social media articles due to StrangerThings currents season. Tried telling all the ladies I know but it hasn’t seemed to taken off around here yet 😂👍
I still own my 85.5 non-turbo. It's guards red absolutely beautiful. I bought it when I was 26 years old and Now 46. I've had battles wanting to trade it in and get a WRX 2011 hatch, but I keep thinking maybe I should not do it. I know one thing I think my neighbors think I'm crazy because I'll take the car cover off and stare at the car deciding whether or not to trade it in. LOL
I love the 944. Was the first Porsche I fell in love with & still love them! For all their faults (and there are many) they are fing perfect! Fight me! Lol!
I've got a '87 944 myself. In black, same as yours. Mine is with red wine interiour. I love it ever since I got her 8 years ago. I'd like to leave a comment of thanks for making the effort of good running shots. I will come back and watch again. Thanks, Timeteller Greetings from Germany
Hold up, wait a minute! This video just popped up as a suggestion on here. The time teller who I subscribe to on your watch channel has a 944! I've been watching your other channel for years and I think we've had the same brands and even the same model watches. Now I'm picking up a 944 S2 this weekend. Turns out we have the same taste in watches and cars 😂 Who knew? 😁🤣
I love your The Time Teller channel and I love cars (not Porsche in general) but I love Luxury Sedans. Any who!!!!! Keep up the great content and hope I can win a new watch.
More LR3 vids please. New to Overlanding and trying to decide on a rig. All I see are Jeeps and Tacomas which has over inflated their value. So looking for alternatives and like what I see in the LR3.
When I brought my 911 into my mechanic, there was a 924 and 944 in the shop. He said they were a pain in the ass to work on and he usually turns them away. Any issues with finding a mechanic for yours?
Currently own a 1986 911 (have owned a couple now) and love it but always compare it to my old 1983 944...talked to a few 944 owners at a couple of car shows here in TX and really appreciate the enthusiasm they are conveying to new buyers. For me the idea of never worrying about the 944 and just using it day to day is what makes me miss it. Cargo space, AC that worked, comfort level on long trips... I did and still get the "real Porsche" question/argument about the 944...but I am one to probably choose a super clean 928 over a vintage 911 most days of the week :) I see all sides with owning a 911. It is cool(?), no doubt, but I am not sure a lot of owners really like them (garage queens, never driving and ALWAYS talking about value...) and/or maybe it's a generation of being told the only real Porsche is a 911. If it has the Porsche badge on it, it's a Porsche. (Although the early 924.................yikes?!) My 911 has over 200,000 miles on it and I drive the piss out of it but with the values going through the roof I worry about it a lot more (driving and grocery getting) than I ever did (or would at this point) a 944. Continued success with the channel...
I thought about selling my 944 to get in to a ratty 911 but decided against it because of how I drive. wouldn't feel right driving a car that valuable compared to the one I bought in highschool for 4K lol
I have a dark olive metallic (nearly black unless in bright sunlight) 987 Boxster S, I changed the wheel color as well as the front and side grills that were silver gray to gold, makes for a nice match to your 944!
@Hagerty has a great story told about the 924, which later went on to be the 944. After watching & seeing yours, I’ve caught the “itch”. 😂👍

The 928 is also damn cool in my opinion
The 924 wasnt ditched by Porsche when the 944 came out, in fact they kept improving the 924 up to '88 with the 924S and turbo. Just a fun fact.
924 S made use of all of the leftover 924 body parts, it's a narrow body 944
As someone who grew up in the 80s, the 944 was ALWAYS badass. And you have a killer example.
Always loved the 944 turbo in the late 80’s. Still got an original catalogue from the Porsche dealer back then.
The 1988 924S was the better than the 944. The 924 had better bodylines and was a tad faster too.
Solid and entertaining. Well done, son.
Love the pop up headlights! So 80’s!
Nice taste!!!
The three posters and the 944
You’re back! Updates on the rest of the fleet (996 & Land Rover)
Can't wait to see more content. And who didn't like TMNT and Tiffany
One of my favorite RC cars from my youth… By the way great shirt great album

Amazing car, used to live in berlin where i would see 944s driving around at least once a week. That 80s look is unbeatable!!
Great car, great video... now subscribed from the watch giveaway too! Looking forward to more content
It truely does on the Evangelion thing.. oh holy shit no wonder I love my 944 so much. That show was so traumatic but so good too.
in short: yes.
Isn't it the car Jake Ryan drove in 16 candles?
As someone who grew up in the 80s, the 944 was ALWAYS badass. And you have a killer example.
I like the car content, I live vicariously through your car journey.

I would find a new mechanic, bro. These are some of the easiest cars to work on. 🤣
Love the 944 but I'll always be a 911 guy.
Love the channel. Wish I new about it sooner.

Dad had a 924, but the flared fenders on the 944 always made it the more desirable car to me.
