From the book "To save thousands of souls " by fr Brett Brannen True freedom comes from sacrificing our own wants and desires to reach a greater good. Sometimes this means you cannot have everything you want. And there are some places you cannot go. But God made us for happiness and for greatness. And our happiness and greatness consist in discovering the plan of God for our life and then committing ourselves to this greater good, despite giving up some things. Remember that God does not need us. He is omnipotent. He is infinite in power and can build the Kingdom of God without our help. However, because he loves us, he wants us to have the privilege of cooperating with him. God gives us the opportunity as human beings to demonstrate our dignity by graciously saying yes to his call. This is why he invites us to search out, to discover and to embrace our vocation.
From the book " To Save a Thousand of Souls " by fr Brett Brannen I believe one of the problems in the Church today is that many people are in the wrong vocation. Many people have grown up unaware that they have a vocation, much less that they should be asking God to reveal it to them. And there are many unhappy, unfulfilled, dissatisfied people. As a general rule, people flourish in their correct vocation! Flourishing does not just mean they are happy. It means they are steadily growing in holiness, they are fulfilled, and they are becoming the person God wants them to be. Fr. Brian Bashista, vocation director of the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia, underscores that vocation is less about personal choice and more about discovery.
Fr Brett Brannen " To save thousands of souls " # A vocation is an invitation, not a commandment. It is a request. A loud, terrifying voice would be a mandate, not an invitation, causing a person to respond out of fear, not out of love. God does not want this. He wants you to want to hear his voice and to know his will. He does not want to force you, and he will not force you. Noise is a great obstacle to hearing Jesus, who is meek and humble of heart. Finding time every day for silent prayer, silent listening, is critical. Jesus’ desire to tell us our vocation is much greater than our desire to know it, but we must be willing and able to hear it. We must show the Lord through our fidelity to prayer that we desire to know his perfect will regarding our vocations.
God is infinite in power and he loves me infinitely. There is no snatching out of his hand. God will never send me where his grace cannot sustain me. If he asks me to do something difficult, like become ......., he will give me the grace to do it. I will not fail because he is with me. And I will be happy because I am doing his will. Even if I lack some of the needed qualities, God will help me develop them. In his will lies my peace. All fears can be overcome by increasing one’s faith, hope, and love. In fact, it is not overly simplistic to state that every problem known to man can be fixed by these three theological virtues
Thank u father
