    Hi Peggy, first of all, I love your Scindapsus videos, unfortunately I also have no luck with them and I killed a few, but I'm not giving up and will soon try to put them in Leca following your instructions so fingers crossed.

    I would love to see a video on pesticide treatment in leca. The spider mites and thrips are killing me D:

    Hi Peggy,I love watching and learning so much from your videos and I'm going to give leca a try with my poor little 2 leaf Ficus Teneke plant. I've never used leca before,so if this goes well,then will put many other plants in it as well. Thanks for this awesome video! And I was shocked to see your Raven ZZ looking so great in leca! I may have to do mine in it as well!

      I used PON on a couple of my plants but most of my plants are in Leca. My preferred self watering pots are usually the ones that are cheapest. 😆 However, I like the ones that have a water meter or that allow me to see the water level.

    Thank you for showing your plants growing in leca, such a great video and so interesting. I can see how perfect it would be for traveling. I debated about buying larger plants that required hand watering because we didn’t want them to be dead every time we traveled. I think I will try your setup. I need to watch your other video now on how to use leca. :)

    • @PeggysPlants
      @PeggysPlants  3 роки тому +3

      Leca is the perfect medium for people who travel, in my opinion. I use to be so worried about what condition my plants would be in when I returned home after being gone a week. Now I only have to worry about the plants that are in soil.

    Hi Peggy PJ here, wat & where do u get those white pots with that little thing sticking out, is this a water meter? And next question, wat so u use to stakes up ur plants, I don't want to use a moss pole, for many reasons. Thanx Peggy

    • @PeggysPlants
      @PeggysPlants  3 роки тому +1

      Hello PJ! There is a link in the description box to the pots and yes, that is a water meter showing the water level in the reservoir. I use anything to stake up plants, honestly. If I see a stick outside that will work, I grab it. Thanks for watching!

    Must try this with my Monstera Adansonii wide form -it is always dry/always yellowing , but on the flip side its cousin the narrow form stays beautiful. Trying to create nature in the home is a change.

      Mine was almost dead prior to putting it in Leca and also on a moss pole. It has been growing like crazy since converting it from soil. In fact, I have another one that is still in soil that I've had much longer. It is growing much slower so will be converting it to Leca as well. Best of luck!

    Hi Peggy I saw your step by step Leca video . But I’m a little confused as to the self watering pots . Do they come with those open nursery pots ? If not glass can you see when they need water ? What is the little thermometer that sticks up in the pots? Where can I buy the pots? Where can I buy the leca ? This must also help with gnats! I hope can do this because there are some plants that I can’t please ! I hope you are enjoying your new home ! Thank you for this video , has really helped me! 🙋🏽‍♀️🌺🌸🌹🌼

    • @PeggysPlants
      @PeggysPlants  3 роки тому +2

      I list links of most of the items I use in the description box. Yes, the self watering pots come with the net inserts and the thing that sticks up is the meter that shows the water level. For pots that don't have the meter, you just lift the net pot out and check to see if there's water in the bottom. Hope that helps!

    Hi Ms Peggy
    One quick question…is it ok not to put hole/s on the glass with leca?
    Would appreciate your response
    Thank you very much 😊

    • @PeggysPlants
      @PeggysPlants  Рік тому

      It is fine to use glass without holes but the holes make it much easier not to over water and to flush the LECA when you have mineral build up. However, you can grow in LECA successfully without have holes in your vessel. Thanks for watching!

    I just got extremely lucky and found a Monstera that had its own Monstera Thai in it. Well, i’m not even sure yet what it is but it has 4 leaves on it right now with a GREAT amount of yellow variegation on each leaf. I immediately removed the plant from the Mother and potted in a nice chunky soil and added a moss pole. Now i’m nervous and wondering if I should switch to leca. I’ve never used leca as of yet. I wish you could see my plant to tell me what it actually is…….I don’t want to lose this beauty 😩

    • @PeggysPlants
      @PeggysPlants  3 роки тому

      It sounds like you stumbled on a nice variegated monstera. My suggestion would be to decide what you want to do with the plant and then leave it. Continuous change while it is acclimating to your home could be risky. Best of luck!

    In self watering pots I see the roots came out , do you have problems with Roots sitting in water at the bottom of the pot? Because in the clear container you try to avoid that

    • @PeggysPlants
      @PeggysPlants  2 роки тому +1

      Because I'm growing the plants in Leca, they grow water roots. They do just fine once they reach the water reservoir. I do repot the plants if there are a lot of roots. Thanks for watching.
