Usually timeless soundscapes don’t need any pushing algorithms. In this special case I’m thankful for UA-cam. That’s one really great way to master this lovely blackbox of opportunities.
This box is incredible. Can sound typically FM, but with just a few knob twists just sounds like analog. From the specs it doesn't look that serious but in practice it is really magical combination of FM and subtractive synthesis. Also the form factor is lovely. The only downsides? It should have 8 tracks, kits and 3 LFOs

Simply stunning piece. Beautiful sounds, beautifully arranged, skilfully performed. Genius. Particularly love that 10 step arpeggio over the 4/4 beat near the end. Hypnotic....

Thank you ... but i don´t think i achieve that always. Sometimes I just don't get the brilliance I want. i think that has something to do with fm synthesis in general. It's not that easy to get nice heights without getting too harsh. I really have to make sure that i get the sound design right as much as possible. My mastering chain looks like: Toneboosters EQ Slate FG-Grey UAD Massiv Passiv Toneboosters Enhancer Vertigo VSE-3 Toneboosters Limiter I test the Tone Booster plugins at the moment and i have to say that i'm very impressed and i will definitely buy them (very good prices).
@@substan_music Many thanks for the reply! Never used Toneboosters, will have to download some demos. And man...we are always our worst critics! It’s artists like you who always make me want to push my sound further. Seriously, from a listener’s perspective I’m always blown away!
@@substan_music Mastering straight out of the Elektron or though a DAW'ed version??? (video presentation transparency is a non-issue, which anyway gives the best of the nature photography/synth genre a run for it's money) ...and, Bravo. Somebody call David Attenborough!
Sounds delightful. Are all the sounds including the kick from the Digitone..? I'd like a box which I can just come home, switch on and play, be it weird techno or weird ambient. Would you recommend this? I already own a Model Cycles which I get some mean techno from.. Thanks.
Yes .. it's pure Digitone. The Digitone is still my favorite device. If you like the sound characteristics of the cycle then you probably won't be disappointed... Digitone has a similar characteristics but is so much more versatile and powerfull. The only 4 tracks are a limitation but I always found it somehow inspiring.

There are a lot to choose from and which ones I use depends very much on the track. UAD plugins are regularly in use... Manley Massive Passive / Vari MU... Chandler Curve Bender... Fairchild... various tape simulators. But I also often use the Slate Digital SSL bus compressor... or vertigo VSE-2 EQ... Kazrog True Iron is also almost always involved lately. Toneboosters Barricade or Softube Weiss ds1-mk3 for limiting. to name a few that I use frequently.

I've got the Model Cycles and this sounds like the DTone blows it out of the water.
The Digitone is really much deeper and more versatile than the cycles. still highly underrated .. My absolute favorite synth
