Nintendo totally sabotaged Dragalia Lost. They barely advertised it and it was still almost as successful as feh.
The only time a non-mobile only Nintendo account advertised it was for the P5 event and that was 3 years too late.
Dragalia was really special to me because the gameplay was far above any other mobile and it even rivaled console games for me. The music was perfect. And dragons are cool.

i played dragalia lost since day one- that was my first day of highschool. I can remember it like it was yesterday. Since then, I've just graduated from community college and transferred to a four year university. It's amazing... and so sad to think about how time flies. To this day, my mind flickers back to dragalia more and more often. Thinking about how its gone makes me want to cry.
I was almost finished with the main story, but after hearing the EOS announcement, I lost all motivation. I really regret that...I wish I could have finished the final few chapters for myself. But somehow, I just didn't want it to end. I don't know how putting off finishing the story would achieve that. The game got shut down anyways...
As a day 1 veteran, I have been through it all... all the events in game, the slow intertwining of event characters in the story like the apostles, the adding of new features (like battle royale and the roguelite dungeon thing in the end) and even was the leader of an active Alliance with roughly 20 members. We were so sad to see it end. To this day I still have my Dragalia japanese art book and my Maritimus plushie. Sometimes, when I'm feeling especially nostalgic, I flip through my artbook. Seeing all the amazing designs for the characters, I can't help but pray that Dragalia will come back someday in some form ... like a definitive edition on Switch -- I'd shell out my whole wallet for that. It's so hard to believe that this game is just... gone now, and that it's already been a couple of years. There was so much...
    I will miss it forever.

I used to stream Dragalia on twitch. It got me affiliate status and I made a wonderful community of kind people from all over the world. I would pay hundreds to have something back.

I remember playing the last ever Hinomoto event. They showed all the Wyrmclan leaders and boy was I so hyped. The week of the Anniv/Half-Anniv was near and I was waiting for the Digest announcement/trailer, waiting for the next Wyrmclan unit to be playable, but instead I waited for the daily reset in my time, 11PM only to be met with the news of its EOS. Devastated was an understatement for sure lol, I was planning to max out every Agito weapon. I finished Legend Volk's and moved on to Kai Yan's. I didn't have any motivation to finish that goal after that lol. Still managed to finish the story though, but wow. This game was my first ever gacha experience and I could'nt have had it any other way.
(I know private servers of the game are up. I just wish it never ended lol, so many loose ends we will never get to see: The Wyrmclans, The Sky Robot and the Sea Mermaid people (I forgot what they're called lol) and even playable Agito!)

Dragalia Lost was so good. Excellent collabs (Monster Hunter and Megaman). Great boss fights. Great characters. Generous with the gacha. It was so good.

I think Dragalia Lost would make a better "Warriors" game than Zelda and Fire Emblem have. As a fan of both of those series, the "Warrior"-style game play felt off, but the Invasion Events in Dragalia Lost reminded me heavily of the Warrior games.

@@SoulSideQuests Its good to have hope, I think a lot of the legacy of Dragalia Lost will be determined with the rights of the IP.
My understanding is that the IP is split between Cygames and Nintendo (right now).
Shared IP -> Very likely nothing will done with it.
Nintendo -> Maybe sit on it for years and release a game when it is nostalgic and when they are between similar game releases.
Cygames -> Seeing as how Dragalia Lost is kind of a "Re-Dive" itself... maybe they will relaunch it in the future with better monetization.

dragalia lost means so much to me, as someone who grew up in their teenage years with it playing it day 1 ever since
Nintendo should've put effort into it, it showed so much promise, so much charm, it was amazing, felt amazing, there were so many people who would've been completely down with nintendo switch dragalia lost, or anything that made it more accessible, more monetized
but nintendo never monetized it, beside how amazing the game is, and them being greedy enough to hold the IP even though they're never gonna do anything with it, it's insane
I miss dragalia lost so much, i think about it a lot even still and autisticly talk about it with friends and what not
FFXIV is like big boy dragalia lost honestly and I've been happy with that for sure, but it's very sad still what happened.

Between fire emblem, XenoBlade and kid Icarus plus dragalia we had a couple different mideval high fantasys, but they all gave us something different!
I genuinely feel like the gatcha/ mobile aspect sent alot of people away, but if they pushed it in a different direction it coulda been as big as ff14 in some ways. But its always good to hear folks still talk about one of my favorite games, maybe ninty will take notice someday!

Big lostie here, like, day 3 player that only ever had one major amount of time where I didn't play, a period between the end of the Sylas halloween even and a week after new-years, and aside from that rarely missed a day: We were BEGGING Nintendo to release it on the swtich. If they had its popularity would have no doubt *skyrocketed*. It was one of the few mobile games at the time that actually relied on player skill in most high level content, instead of focusing on newest meta make big numbers go brrrrrr Yeah there was some noteworthy power creep, but you could finish basically all content in the game with any character if you knew what you were doing. Meta wasn't king, like in so many other games. We were begging Nintendo and Cygames for more ways we could spend money because they were so generous and always doing well by us.
The quality was just immense and I miss it so much. When it shut down I legit had about a 6 month period where I was in genuine mourning, where my depression got so bad I practically became a little bit more shut-in than usual. Dragalia had been there for me during 2018 when I had my open-chest heart surgery. It was there when a LOT of life events happened. And I will never, *ever* forgive Nintendo for its loss.
I miss Draglia Lost so much, and genuinely fear getting into another mobage that will die and become utterly unplayable by legal methods, that I just don't play mobage anymore. No matter how popular it is - be it Genshin, or Blue archive, or whatever - I will one day stop being able to play whatever game I no doubt sunk 100's of dollars in to, because there is no incentive to leave offline-only versions of these games when they shut down.

Best phone game of all time. Part of what made it so amazing (you didn't have to pay to win), was also it's ultimate downfall (it made no money). I played from day one to the day it all ended and haven't played anything on my phone since.

the worst part is that dragalia was the lovechild of cygames, that game was the revival of one of the projects they always wanted to make but didnt.
now because they worked with nintendo they will never be able to use the IP even when they loved to make the game, something i noticed is that they used a lot of what they learned from dragalia in granblue fantasy relink.

I still can barely think about dragalia Lost without crying. I dont really know how to describe it to people. I think splatoon is the only Nintendo franchise that's doing something similar with music, and xenoblade is the only one that's come close with story, but the thing neither of those have is the consistent updates that really kept fans engaged and invested until the end

It’s an especially odd move from Nintendo, considering how strongly they support indie games. They even make in-house trailers for indie devs. It seems they only fully support titles released for the Switch and disregard anything that isn’t.
