It is important to understand the difficulty in defending 1-2's or just quick, intricate plays in general. Yes, you did not follow the wingback but even if you did, the weight and distance of the pass is what eliminated you from the play not your lapse in concentration. Also take into account how high up you are on the field, it is your mind's nature to switch off defensively when you are so far away from your goal. Defending involves the whole team, especially in this case. The counter was not formed "all because you didn't put your arm across that player" but rather because it was just a good counter where good decisions were made on where the next pass goes. It is also a possible that an intentional tactical foul could have been done.
Lengthy but I think worth it, but the again, this is just my evaluation as a bystander.
Tbh I think his initial press wasn’t as good as it should have been, he should have blocked the inside pass early and then moved outside to body the wingback off the ball if he tried to dribble forward

I like your video and analysis. I've never sniffed your level of quality but in offseason spend 70% of time in training on left foot. You are still hesitant to pull trigger with it and it is holding you back. Again...you are way beyond me in terms of skill and analysis but I think more training and confidence on that side would open up many interesting possibilities to you.

Bro I am playing as a centreback I am good at defending but my passing is poor also I can't play calmly and I want to improve my vision.Can you do a video on how to practice this things alone mainly vision.And the time to attempt long ball or shortpass from the back
Easy. Get a wall, mark a spot and pass. Or just pass back and forth against a wall. Or get cones and make gates for targets to pass to. And for your vision go play, pick up or games and practice on ur vision. Always be aware of your surroundings.

Feel like your team should have sit back instead of pressing high up the field. Their quick passes would drag your players out of position. Maybe sitting back would give them less space to work with…?

You need to analyse your press. You are pressing for the sake of pressing. When you press you are stopping and delaying yes, but there becomes a point when you need to actually engage the man and go for the tackle. They are getting out of the press too easily as you are passively pressing and not being aggressive enough when you get close to the attacker.
Matt they had many tactical and technical mistakes us team.
In my opinion the challenge u made should have been with your left foot because when u brought your right u were late to recover.

In the middle of the field. Where they are supposed to be. You have to have positional discipline. It’s fine if Atlanta 2 keep the ball wide and have possession in the wide areas. As you saw most goals come from the middle part of the attacking third. If his Midfeilder’s lose thier discipline because he is outnumbered guaranteed Atlanta would have scored more goals than they did.

2:54 is definitely your mistake. You hesitate, don't commit and look almost scared. Go in hard for the ball, not the man. The CB expects you to win that, not have to dash to the near post to mop up your mistake.

I use to watch you a lot about a year ago, your video analysis are good but I feel as if you take less responsibility nowadays, 3rd goal u let happen by forcing ur CB to sprint back when you could’ve blocked it off urself and let the opp LW take the corner of the box, it’s the smarter move as the run in behind ur CB is more dangerous but u just Ig look unbothered. Might add u sound more monotoned than usual. Sounds like ur passion is dying.
1. The guy you’re referencing for the third goal is our center mid covering for me because this team has me pressing all the way up the field. So that back post guy on that guy isn’t even me.
2. I’m monotoned because I’m sick of losing and frustrated with our performance this season. I’m not going to be enthusiastic about getting scored on and losing.

Have you ever tried playing pro soccer as a defender? If you have even played defender before I bet you also make those kind of mistakes from time to time. I don’t think you would appreciate people hating on you for your mistakes especially when you already own up to it. How about instead of criticizing people for their mistakes you go out and train like them.
