I'm loving these videos. I am a model maker and Batman fan but had never thought of doing this before. My only only thoughts being a model maker would be, I would take a scalpel and sharpen up some of the detail, The cowl ears, gauntlets and belt. Put him in the desired position and fill any joint gaps at wrists and legs etc before painting. But great job, these are now real collectors pieces.
If you just touch the start of an engraved detail, like the lines on the chest of the armour, with a small watercolour brush dipped in wash, capillary action will draw the wash through the groove giving you a very crisp, high contrast line. You can twist the figure about to let gravity give the wash a hand. This prevents you from having wiping off wash you do want when you're getting rid of what you dont want. Then, if you still want the rest of the chest to have a bit of a weathered look, you can give it a second all over wash without having to worry about your lines. It's time consuming, and depending on your perspective may be too much effort, but it's just a tip I thought you might like.
I never get tired of watching your videos, it’s just so satisfying to see the process of making something generic or even something that has a lot of potential, look way better.
I picked up the bat mobile that is for this figure. I plan up customizing. Would like to see your version. It’s amazing how your able to turn something so plan into something amazing with just a few items and very little time. I just want to thank you, for opening my eyes to customizing. I’ve had many hobbies in the past and I must say this is by far my favorite.
Chris, thanks for this awesome step by step guide. I made my own custom Batman and Robin this weekend, not a wall hanging but just the figs. I'm really pleased with how they turned out and I would not have had the confidence to try it if it were not for your video.
I just got the 12 inch version of this figure being sold in Mexico; and I was thinking in doing some acrylic washes, removing mold lines and maybe painting the bat-belt gold; and suddenly this video appears suggested before me, perfect timing you tube!
I know the pole gets in the way but I kinda wish you got the tail end of the cape pointed down, that way you get classic triangular cape look when he gliding down. Regardless it came out amazing.
I turned a tiny batman figurine into Femto from Berserk. Just ahd to sand down the ears, spikes, and belt. I used a purple enamel spray paint to get a nice coat
I bought the entire missions line just based on their customization potential... I would love to see what you would do to the Air Power Canon Batmobile from this line!! Awesome job as always Chris!
Great job! This is my 2nd most favorite custom you made. The 1st one is the Armored Batman makeover. More power to you! Why does Batman only wear dark colors? Easy. Batman doesn’t want to get shot. Why does Robin only wear bright colors? Easy. Batman doesn’t want to get shot. xD
So cool man, I was debating of doing this with my mega superman (the one you customised as well) - now really gonna do it. you're an inspiration man!!!!
I remember you doing the one of the Jakks Pacific batman figures. I had a go, and created my own version. I posted it on Instagram and tagged jakks Pacific in it. Next thing, they liked the post, and commented.
Very nice job! Learned a lot. And the final outcome was really great! Only things I did not like was the leg pose and the final outcome of the wall. I thought the green ivy effect was too bright, distracting from the aging work that you did on the brick. Other than that, it was a really nice transformation. Thanks for sharing.
Can i use the rust oleum 2x ultra cover matte clear spry as a primer? I can't find any clear primer here in argentina, all primers are black, grey or white so i can't preserve the original paint job
That was quite a transformation! Great job Chris! =D
You should do a cosplay of your logo/ avatar
agree
Agreed
agree
He's raising money on his patreon account to do that
Thank uou
Chris, you are GENIUS, that batman looks awesome
Ah yes the “I’m totally not just Nightwing with a cape” costume, always a classic. Always a classic!
Cool. Would love to see you try and tackle covering up the joints with putty and what not to make figures look more like statues.

That looks amazing. The final results and reveal is insane and very impressive. Job well done ✅

Super cool!! I like it when you customize collectables. I could watch all day

AMAZING! As a artist and toy customizer you inspire me! Thank you so much!
Chris, you forgot to mention a translucent riddler in a suit in the Batman Missions figure series there.Great custom by the way!.
You can use command Velcro tabs for the backing if you don't want a permanent solution.
So cool man, I was debating of doing this with my mega superman (the one you customised as well) - now really gonna do it. you're an inspiration man!!!!
